Completely useless at times. People who made this should legitimately be working at McDonald’s. And they make no changes. Good luck! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t support Picture in Picture 😖 *2026-06-23, version 5.0.4* Edit: a year later and it still doesn’t have Picutre in picture. When you switch apps, it cuts the feed and then makes you watch an ad when you get back to the game after missing half an inning. When MASN goes out of business they’ll have no one to blame but themselves. Original review: I don’t understand how this app was allowed to be released without supporting picture-in-picture mode. If you get a text while watching the game and open a different app, it pauses the live feed. Then, when you come back, your game is lagging behind. It will then “jump” a few seconds and skip ahead, but not to the actual live feed. It will just keep skipping to random points until it eventually catches up. There’s no button to automatically skip ahead to the live feed. So you have to exit, then restart the stream, which forces you to watch an ad. So prepare to miss entire parts of the game or not check any notifications if you don’t want to miss anything. Horrible, horrible design. ### 2/5 — Better than nothing. *2026-06-13, version 5.0.4* -Doesn’t stream in 4k. So image is a bit grainy / pixely. - The same, repetitive commercials is enough to drive you insane. - EVERY time you sign in it of course HAS to play a commercial first. So when it buffers and disconnects and you go back into the app, commercial. Even if it’s mid play, tied up, bottom of the 9th. You have to watch a commercial that you’ve seen literally a 100 times during the course of a game. 👎🏼 It’s ok. Can MOST DEFINITELY be better. But if you don’t have cable it’s one of only a few options to watch the O’s. ### 1/5 — Apple TV App Awful *2026-06-06, version 5.0.4* The video on the Apple TV app is a disgrace, unless you like your video blurry, choppy and fuzzy. For crying out loud, this is 2026 and it still looks like the picture is being received by rabbit ears. Come to think of it, rabbit ears might be an improvement. On AppleTV it is a complete disappointment. The app crashes and you have reinstall it to work. Do better MASN. Apparently it’s the same for everyone based on other reviews. It only makes sense out of desperation because of MLB blackouts if you are cutting the cord. If I paid $20/month I would expect for the app to minimize so I could display another app simultaneously and have the game run in the background- LIKE EVERY OTHER TV APP! I would also expect it to run continuously without a network hiccup causing the user to miss action while it runs an ad before resuming a live game. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-06-02, version 5.0.4* This is one of the worst apps and outright lies when it comes to a purchase. The app never works. It doesn’t stream well even when it actually does open and they sold it as getting mlb.tv as well and we didn’t. You got to watch the orioles on mlb which doesn’t make much sense if this app did what it was supposed to do. You can’t watch any other team. This thing is useless. ### 2/5 — Worth the 2 star rating *2026-05-13, version 5.0.4* The sound will continue to play after the app is closed. After turning the television off and then back on, the volume of the video that was playing in the app will come back on for a few moments, even when another streaming app is opened. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-05-05, version 5.0.4* This app is the worst part of being an O’s fan, and that says a lot. No mini player available, so every time you leave the app on your phone you can’t even watch the game, and when you do go back to the app, you have to restart the stream and sit through a couple of ads to get back to the game even if you only left the app for a few seconds. The stream itself is always 30 seconds behind any other broadcast, so if you get score notifications from ESPN/MLB you’ll know what happens before you actually see it. You pay for a season pass and then still have to sit through multiple ads every time you try to start watching a game, even if they’re in the middle of an inning. At least once a game I have to restart the stream because an error occurs which means I sit through even more ads. All around terrible app. Can’t wait for the day MASN is no longer affiliated with the O’s. ### 1/5 — Can’t turn off subtitles *2026-05-03, version 5.0.4* On Apple TV subtitles overlay the scoreboard and can’t be turned off. Every time the network connection is lost (which will happen a couple times a game), you are forced to watch 1-2 commercials, missing the game in the process. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2026-08-25, version 5.0.5* I wish I could give zero stars. I have access to the MASN app through my TV provider MASN subscription. However, using the app on my iPad, I continually get a playback error. When the error pops up, the options are refresh or contact support. Well, when you refresh, you now have to watch another 30seconds worth of ads right in the middle of a game, then it works for maybe a minute or two and the error pops up again. If you choose “contact support”, which I’ve done several times, they never respond. It’s a joke!! When I turn the game I expect to see the game if there’s action happening. If I turn it on between innings fair enough show me an ad. But if I get an alert that my favorite player is up to bat and I have to suffer through a 30 second ad I’ve seen 100 times and miss the AB that ridiculous. Why am I even paying for this service at that point if I can’t get the content when I want it. Also the ad plays if you switch devices with air play. I couldn't even sign in as it kept kicking me back for my email to ask for the one-time password. Not with the $20 a month of the $180 annual membership. So far it has been fantastic!! I don’t watch a lot of tv outside of sports and occasional movies. Hated having to give the cable or streamer provider an extra 20 dollars a month just to have the masn sports network to watch my O’s. Now, THE Answer has arrived $65 bucks for the entire season to stream Os!! Heck yeah!! MLB app was trash outside of the audio broadcasts. Like tv subscriptions would give you access to away games… but even then you might still be in geo to not even get that. This is the sweet spot.
