In that regard, the app is great, but there nothing else to do unless you play multiplayer (which I do not). I feel like they could have done a better job of including ALL of their user base, not just the online players. ### 4/5 — Wish ME3 had this. *2018-06-16, version 1.18.1* I liked the game, wasn’t my favorite but I still play it all the time. Multiplayer really isn’t my thing but this app helps me not have to play it so much to unlock better gear on single player. The four stars are because it’s buggy and wasn’t I guess the achievement thing... but if you don’t have all the achievements by this point why are you getting the app? ### 3/5 — Broken for my purposes *2017-08-30, version 1.17.0* I downloaded this app to manage my strike teams while I'm not playing on the X1 and, for the most part, it works well. There's just one BIG problem - this companion all breaks achievements! There are achievements for getting six squads and leveling a squad to 20. If you do them in the app, it doesn't unlock the achievement. This means you would have to sell a squad, rebuy it (on the console) and level a different squad up. A small oversight that makes the app more damaging than helpful, at least for what I care about. ### 4/5 — Near perfect app *2017-07-22, version 1.16.1* I really love the app and the total support you get for the game. Pros: everything strike team, Store, news and mission stats as well as character development. Cons : speaking of character skill development when you go to add skill points to a section it makes you purchase the power and then you are allowed to see what percentage or skill variation it has instead of being able to see what you are getting and then verifying it and so as of now it is a one hit confirm and no undos unlike in game. Which is nice you can add to skills but bad if you are trying to see what the next level does and if you click it , then it just purchases it and only after that are able to view what it does. Ex: +10 %power dmg Should be able to see what it does on first click then confirm you want it on a secondary button so you don't lose or waste skill points and don't ever have to undo which you can't at the moment in app. Also strike team issues with teams having an error when trying to send them out: You develops a squad is already in mission error when they are not. Would love to see these tweaks updates and hopefully fixed and then it's perfect. You'd be able to analyze and view every bit of information needed. ### 3/5 — Too many login issues, choppy performance *2017-07-19, version 1.16.1* The app works well and I appreciate being able to run strike missions outside of game. But too often I try to open the app and get an error on login, or am forced to log back in. Not a big issue but ruins the quality of the experience. Also, animations run very choppy on my iPhone 6S unless I kill all background processes. ### 3/5 — Getting better *2017-06-10, version 1.5* Menus are a little bit faster. It only takes 2 taps to accept a strike team mission now (it only needs 1), but it takes 4 to send one out. Like, I honestly do not care at all about any of the mission info besides which strike team had the highest chance of beating it, and it takes a whole 3 taps with menu transitions to get there. Snappier than the last version. Keep improving it! ### 3/5 — Please remember my login info! *2017-06-01, version 1.4* I love being able to cycle my strike teams for loot and one of the multiplayer currencies. But it's really annoying that the app forgets my login every other day. Keep me logged in. You'll get a 5 star rating from me if you fix that. Also. Sort of a missed opportunity to make a top down turn based tactical game for the mobile version. ### 4/5 — This app is fantastic! *2017-05-21, version 1.4* I love this app because it allows me to manage my strike teams when I'm away from my Xbox. The only problem I have is that the all crashes when I try to swap my weapons out on my character, presumably because it has problems comparing the stats. Besides that, it's extremely convenient. Well done! ### 4/5 — The app is working fairly well for me *2017-05-17, version 1.4* However, it'd be nice if every time I try to log into the app while my PlayStation is paused in the background, that I didn't get logged out of the app. The pop-up notifying me that I need to log off my PlayStation before using the app makes sense. Wasn't sure if that was a bug or intentional design. ### 2/5 — Buggy as hell *2017-05-12, version 1.4* Ever since the release of the Apex companion app it has been nothing but buggy when logging in. Log in, app crashes. Log in, error message followed by having to reselect which profile to use. Log in, error message followed by having to reenter email and password. Even after multiple updates this is still an issue. ### 4/5 — Basic but handy *2017-05-11, version 1.3* My previous log-in problems seem to be resolved and with the added functionality the app now provides (and the fact that mission funds now have extra uses), this app is heading in the right direction. ### 3/5 — Doesn't work for achievements *2017-04-28, version 1.3* Using the app for the Xbox One. Has worked well for me, no bugs/glitches/login issues so far. However if you're going for the achievement of getting a strike team to level 20, make sure they don't reach that level while you're using the app or you won't get the achievement for it and will have to get a second team up to that level. ### 2/5 — Useful but slow af and buggy *2017-04-21, version 1.3* It's useful for doing strike team missions when away from the game, reading news updates, and changing load outs both away and while dead or down on mission so you're ready later. That being said it's so slow it takes at least about 30 seconds to change info on screen and then since you mostly clicked on a button multiple times you get an error saying something about how you can't do whatever you were trying to do and then you gotta wait for the error to go away. It gives off such an unresponsive feel it's incredibly hard to use. Also it usually remembers your login info but it does randomly sign you out while the apps in use which is annoying. Sacrificing story for a multiplayer shooter to try and rake in the money for loot chests. This app is a key example. Mainly focusing on the crappy multiplayer experience with a crappy laggy app. I bought the collectors edition with the season pass. That was a rip off. I will never buy a game you make again. Useless trash . ### 1/5 — This app is tremendously underwhelming *2017-05-03, version 1.3* It feels like the same UX designer on the game had some hand in making this app because it's just as terrible and non intuitive as the game UI. The main draw here for me was the ability to access your strike teams because it's cumbersome in game and to be able to quickly equip my characters. It should be smooth and quick. It's neither. From the login errors that fail to keep you logged in, that takes you to an external site to login, to the features that you want to use that are buried in multiple menu selections to having to repeat an excessive amount of selections every time you want to assign a team to a mission; it's just easier to log into your console/pc and use it there rather than this garbage. I understand it took some work to make this app but to not consider the user experience is a disservice to the people using your app and a waste of time. I don't even use it anymore because of these glaring oversights that make it inconvenient rather than the opposite. ### 1/5 — App now crashing *2017-04-19, version 1.3* After updating the app it now crashes whenever I swap weapons on the character loadout screen. I tested this with multiple characters and multiple weapons. I also noticed that the incorrect weight ratio is displayed on top which does not line up with the actual game. It is showing to be a heavier weight ratio than what is shown in game, which may have something to do with the crash. If you want his portion of the app to be usable, I would recommend holding off on the update until this bug is fixed! ### 1/5 — Please fix / it loads my profile but not my data *2017-03-29, version 1.1* Please fix this app I can definitely tell it's going to be great and I will leave a better review once it is fixed. When I log into my EA account it has my Xbox profile and my PC profile when I log into my Xbox profile it doesn't show anything as if I never played the game when I've played many hours already. The only thing that it loads is the strike teams but nothing else is there completely no data. I was thinking I had the wrong profile but I checked in the mass of fact game it is linked to the correct email address. ### 1/5 — Declining Usefullness. *2017-03-29, version 1.1* It was working for a week, but now when I start the app, it sends me back to re-login but when it authenticate's it freezes there. There's no fix!!! I've deleted and re-installed the app, resetted my isp, used a different isp, used LTE, but still nothing. I decided to open the app through the app store, that solved it. The game is already a little dissappointment with the lags, freezes and crashes mainly on multiplayer. I hope the app gets a fix. If not this'll be my review from here on out. Thank you very, very much. From the app I can send strike teams (ST’s) out on APEX missions and they’ll bring back loot for me to open in game, earn me in game currency, and gradually increase my APEX score. I can also purchase and equip upgrades, gear, or even other ST’s as well as multiplayer loot boxes with in game currency. It lists all of the multiplayer characters I have unlocked so far and lets me look at and upgrade their skill trees. I find this aspect particularly helpful as I like to browse a character’s entire skill set and plan exactly how I want to optimize them before spending any points. It also lets me change my current weapon load out and mods. A note about others’ reviews: It’s a shame how jaded the gaming community is that people are docking stars on this free additional content for things like trophies. A lot of the other things people said about the ST menu being buried is just false. It’s a single button push to get to the ST menu. Another person said that you don’t get to preview abilities before you upgrade them. Also just false. The point is that developers don’t even have to offer companion apps or any other additional content and if spoiled gamers are going to leave bad reviews because they didn’t even take time to learn how to navigate the app, they’re just stupid, and companies will stop making stuff like this if we’re unappreciative a-holes. This isn’t meant to be anything other than a tool to help gamers and make it convenient to browse your multiplayer progress and send out ST’s. It does the job it’s meant to do and it does it well.
