Please fix it, I used to use the app consistently but now it’s almost impossible. I have to now consistently use my desktop which is not always convenient. I’ve been a loyal customer for years but I’m truly finding myself very disappointed in your product currently. I hope things get better soon. Or I may have to start looking for other options. ### 2/5 — This is for the App *2023-10-28* I’m generally pleased with MassageBook’s software as a desktop tool. The app for the phone is pretty bad, though, if you are using a phone. It might work on a tablet, but they didn’t design it for use on a smaller screen (it’s an APP, guys! Make it work on a smaller screen!!) I have tremendous difficulty managing my schedule unless I’m on a computer. Pop-ups don’t fit, the screen won’t scroll, sometimes the pop-up for time will just glitch and not allow me to pick a time and I have to back all the way out and got back in to get it to work. It’s still better than Vagaro (always down) and Booker doesn’t have soap notes, so I’ll stick with it. But it’s been a learning curve to figure out what I can and cannot do on the app. ALSO, I wish it was possible to reconfigure a personal account into a business account so that you don’t loose all your client ratings. And I’m not super thrilled about how the intake forms are now switched out to a totally different page instead of being accessible in the client file on MassageBook. ### 3/5 — Since The Last Two iPhone Updates, It’s Been Very Glitchy. *2023-05-03* This app was working well enough for me until the last two iPhone updates, then it went completely haywire. The date bar on the schedule does not stay in place above the appointments, moves over appointments when scrolling on the date selected, and disappears completely when scrolling through the weekly appointments. It also loses connection when checking out clients on Square. That has become very annoying. I have had to go back to the desktop version to book appointments and then use the app to checkout clients on Square, which isn’t terrible to deal with, but is very time consuming. I hope this glitch gets fixed soon. ### 2/5 — So many problems… *2023-03-10* The setup is so easy and it’s easy to use. But then there are the problems of, it won’t load intake forms for me to look at, it sends intake forms every time someone books even though it’s not set that way. It doubles my patients names so when I go to book there are two of them. The drop down bars don’t work it will put the wrong birthdate in and then you can’t change it. When you try to book and change the date the whole thing freaks out and will start to speed through the months and end up 3 months later on a random date. You’ll be halfway through filling something out and then it decides it needs to reload and then you’ve lost everything you just did. I’m currently looking for another program to use. ### 2/5 — Better than the new app, but glitchy *2023-02-13, version 1.33* Overall much better than the newer version of the app, but often the schedule will not load making rebooking and checking client out a timely, frustrating experience. ### 2/5 — Used to work *2022-12-14, version 1.33* We have used this app for over four years. The past few months the app is constantly unresponsive and slow to show your appointments. Yesterday I saw I had an appointment for 12:00, went to book another client after them and while booking the previous appointment didn’t show up. I could have easily double booked if I hadn’t already seen the appointment. This company needs to get their act together for what they are charging. ### 2/5 — Crap *2022-09-28, version 1.33* You cannot do anything on the app. I am constantly having to log in on the web browser on my phone to get to client information. When I’m scrolling through the schedule, it will glitch out and take me back like a month. Constantly having to log back in sometimes multiple times a day. I’ve emailed them with questions/problems and the response I get is that what I am experiencing isn’t supposed to happen so uninstall/reinstall the app or log out and back in and it should be fine. Well it’s not! Update your freakin app. It’s been 2 years! ### 3/5 — PLEASE FIX NOTIFICATIONS!!! *2022-07-24, version 1.33* Notifications haven’t worked in months and now I’m noticing that there’s sometimes a delay in getting appointment notification emails. This is very problematic for same-day bookings. It seems that every other salon app has the ability to have a card on file vs prepayment for the service. I would like to see these improvements, or I will be switching to another service. ### 2/5 — Raised Prices But Won't Fix Issues *2022-04-27, version 1.33* Basic product is "ok" IF your clients are booking from whatever browser that most efficiently supports MassageBook's cookies (their explanation when I have complained before). I have tried using Chrome, Firefox, etc and so have some of my clients and their system just keeps putting people through a loop and leaving them unable to finish making their appointments. If I am working and unable to take their phone calls, I don't get bookings. They raised their price so they can still keep supplying us with a great product but I don't see much work in web development going on. It has all the same bugs and some new ones. ### 3/5 — Needs updates *2022-03-05, version 1.33* There should be an option to request a custom deposit instead of a full pre payment. ### 2/5 — This app is awful *2022-02-04, version 1.33* I enjoy using the software massagebook offers but the app leaves a lot to be desired. You can only do the most basic things, so if you actually own the business the mobile app is really not very useful for anything other than booking appointments. Even then it is only barely decent at that. You can’t scroll through appointments easily because it tries to load in the weeks ahead and will scroll you two months ahead of where you’d like to be. Very annoying. And sometimes it doesn’t even alert you to your appointments. I just really hate that. ### 3/5 — I love MassageBook but... *2021-05-27, version 1.33* I love MassageBook’s software. It has really helped my business grow professionally and increase my clientele. However if I may make some suggestions here are some things I’d like to see improve: 1) When a body worker has their online booking rules set to online booking requests, it would be helpful if clients had the ability to choose from add-on list while inputting a request. 2) When a client submits an appointment request, it would be easier if that appointment showed tentatively in the calendar and could be confirmed with the push of a button (example: confirm or decline.) Clients provide all their information while requesting an appointment yet you have to go back and input it into the app once you reach the client and confirm. It truly takes a lot of time and can be frustrating. 3) Copy and pasting the clients info into the MassageBook app is unnecessarily difficult. After copying the information, you do not have the option to paste in the MassageBook app; which means to have to type it in manually and start all over again. ### 2/5 — MassageBook user for many years *2021-03-01, version 1.33* The app leaves much to be desired. It’s klunky and NOT intuitive. I’ve requested some desirable changes having listed them out years ago on a couple of separate emails, even showing a previous booking competitor video I made for MB to convey the difference in time it took to book on their site v the competition, and still no changes made. I like MB via computer, the customer service is excellent, the owner is caring and thoughtful of MT’s, which is why I stay. But I’d love to be a beta tester with some new app features. Thanks for reading. ### 3/5 — Good but could use a couple improvements *2020-09-02, version 1.31* I’d love to be able to see when I go in to read a note on the app how long the session was for and what the session was and who with. Why have that option to fill out but not show it with the note? Also, a way QUICKLY get back to the main menu to do the next SOAP note without having to hit the back button multiple times or force quit out the program because that’s the quickest way to get back to the main page. ### 2/5 — Bs app *2020-08-25, version 1.31* It has at most 50% functionality of the website for absolutely no reason. It is almost useless for anything except adding sessions, checking schedules and payments. You can’t check client messages, soaps, change any business / session information, etc. it seems useless to have an app if you can’t actually do anything with it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Crappy app *2023-09-12* This app and online version of this app are the pits. Always glitchy. Clients cannot upload intake forms so I can’t see info before appts. I don’t want to go through the trouble however of attempting to use a different service as all my clients intakes and notes in particular (the ones they were able to submit) I would have to download individually and is just not worth my time. Clients also on occasion cannot always book online and have to turn to me to book them in. Just crap . ### 1/5 — Needs fixing *2023-01-30, version 1.33* i downloaded the app to use on my laptop but everytime i open the app to sign in it shuts down. i am not sure whats going on but it needs to be fixed. PS ive deleted it and reinstalled a bunch of times even rest my computer nothing worked. ### 1/5 — What a joke *2022-10-07, version 1.33* I’ve been using Massagebook for several months now and have many problems with it. For one thing, it literally takes HOURS for them to sync new events with my Google calendar, which often results in double bookings. Also my Massagebook appointments include 30 minutes of recovery time, but for some reason they set it up so that time doesn’t show up as blocked on Google calendar, so when a client books through another platform like ClassPass they often book back to back with my Massagebook clients leaving me no recovery time. Support’s response was “we don’t understand why you would have clients booking with you through another platform!” 🙄 The mobile app is super buggy, it logs me out every few days and stops recognizing my password, and their support people just tell me there’s nothing they can do but a new app is in development. Massagebook doesn’t give me control over anything in my business, for example, it forces me to let clients prepay for appointments online which means they use a credit card and I have to pay those fees, but if I had the ability to turn off prepayment most of my clients would pay with Venmo instead which would save me $$$. The list of issues goes on and on, and they’ve never been able to help me with any of them. Do not recommend. ### 1/5 — This is the worst booking app *2022-09-03, version 1.33* It’s not worth a slightly cheaper price to deal with all the glitches this app has. Editing client info and rebooking page glitches makes it really difficult to move on to other things when the drop down boxes don’t work. Also, looking at the schedule in the future doesn’t work because it scrolls on its on to the end of the year, so unless I’m on my laptop I cant see my schedule for the following week or two weeks out. ### 1/5 — Notifications *2022-06-11, version 1.33* I’m not sure what has happened the past month or so but notifications just stopped working. I have deleted and reinstalled the app numerous times. My settings on my phone and app are all turned on yet I never receive a notification when a new appointment is booked. It is beyond frustrating as I am a appointment only business and have to keep opening the app manually to ensure I know what my schedule looks like. I can add to the SOAP beforehand, but when I go back and try to add notes after the session time has ended, neither “SAVE” buttons respond. Have tried logging out and logging back in. Have made sure my app has been properly updated. Have deleted and reinstalled the app. Nothing. I deleted this ASAP! ### 1/5 — Terrible *2020-07-12, version 1.30* After 7 years in business with the same software I was very hopeful to successfully switch my MindBody clients over to Massage Book. The features sounded like exactly what I need but unfortunately the app has been impossible to get working. I use it on one iphone to schedule clients while I talk on my other cell phone. It only works about 50% of the time even when I’m on WiFi. The wait for it to load is excruciating. I’m often desperately killing time talking to my busy clients while it’s just a blank screen to open the app...And so embarrassing having to tell them I have no clue what the schedule is because it won’t load. The trouble continues every step of the way from trying to select any of the required fields to finalizing the booking. Who ever answers my call makes me feel like I’m the most important client♥️. It is an expensive monthly service and so you expect a good app to go along with the other benefits. It is about time that it was updated and they did a great job EXCEPT IT IS IMPORTANT FOR A THERAPIST TO BE ABLE TO EASILY REFER TO A CLIENTS PAST SESSIONS, The previous app conveniently showed the clients full history with the click of a single button. If there is not even an option for that in this app, and one must go into a bunch of calendar settings. This is really too much work and it's just not OK. ### 4/5 — All-In-One bodywork business service *2023-02-09, version 1.33* There have been many improvements over the 4yrs I have used MassageBook. I honestly can’t imagine not having it. I get a discount through ABMP and have the top tier subscription. It’s my schedule, SOAP notes, customer Intake form and additional website. Provides options for Appointment reminder texts, eGift cards, marketing and automated emails to clients. There are SO MANY customizations! I love the newer feature of having the option to require full or partial prepayment when clients book online. They also just rolled out a new app! ### 4/5 — Great but the App can be frustrating *2022-12-26, version 1.33* I think when it’s working properly, it’s easy to use. There are definitely some glitches. 1. So often I have to refresh the schedule more than once to see clients appointments. 2. Sometimes I can book 2 people at the same time, and sometimes it won’t allow more than 1 client to be booked on the same time slot. 3. Lately a time slot will just be missing! The schedule go from 10 to 12. The 11:00 will not be there, even if a client is booked! These things can be very problematic. I may have to give up the app all together and that will make things very inconvenient.
