You have to close out the app and reopen. I don't mind supporting the engineers and paying for an ad-free version, and your app states that there is an ad-free paid version available (yes!). I downloaded your app, and I was happy to upgrade, but I'm getting a pop up error stating that I cannot purchase an upgrade at this time. I hope you're doing a release tonight or something? Also, I just played (very fun) the 7 and 8 color code options, but the pegs are wrong. I solved 3 of the 4 colors, and had tried using the other 5 (none of which triggered a white or black peg). My ego is annoyed that I had to resort to using 3 hints. Actually, the 3rd hint wasn't usable, because it was my last turn. When I clicked on the last hint, I simply received a hilarious 'you've failed' pop up stating that I couldn't use the last hint AND the correct code was never revealed!? lol... am I so tired that I've gone mad?? Lastly, please ditch this upgrade hint debacle, it's a bit messy reading so many options and prices. Just have one 'ultimate' hints package, or a 'mother of all packages' package (sounds like a euphemism, maybe not a great idea ha) including all hints and no ads?? It's like having a ransom note that keeps adding different scenarios and fee structures - just make me pay or leave it be (imho). Oh, one last lastly, replace your colors with more vibrant modern versions (keeps the eyes and brain excited). Just my 5 cents. The more annoyances (hinderances) you place in the way of smooth play, the more customers you will lose (permanently). I'm sticking it out until tomorrow to see if: 1. I hear from you directly, or 2. Your checkout works. It's a fantastic app, you guys are talented... just please fix the peg bug/logic and the upgrade pyramid scheme!! :) ### 3/5 — Achievements aren’t working…. *2023-11-19, version 3.0* Otherwise, great game! ### 4/5 — Mastermind *2023-10-22, version 3.0* Really good but quite addictive and hard ### 4/5 — Does so many things right 👍 *2023-06-20* Graphically clean, perfectly laid out, this is what that game of Mastermind on an iPad/iPhone should be. Version: I paid $.99 to remove ads. The sounds are good, the graphics are flat (stylistically, in a good way), buttons are the right size, etc. Absolutely 4 1/2 stars. May be higher. Minor nitpicks: don’t like the massive Twitter & Facebook logos that pop up after a victory: “POST YOUR SCORE TO TWEETBOOK, GRANDPA!!!” Consider a share button, or an opt out setting. I usually play super (8 colors) and same colors possible. Good little challenge. Only problem is that there are acheivements for this game that dont work. I usually don’t care about those little trophies but gosh dang it if you’re going to have them, make them work properly. I’ve been playing 3 weeks and never lost one game and yet the first achievement “it’s a start” where literally all i have to do is win still shows as uncompleted. This has pretty much all the features I want with very simple graphics. However, I like to play this games fast and sometimes the feedback of correct color and position is a bit lagging. A future feature suggestion: locking a color so that its position carries over to the next try. Update: After playing nearly 300 games with all colors, multiple colors, and empty space(s) allowed, I still failed to find a solution less than 1% of the time. So, another suggestion for future releases is the option to expand from 4 columns to 5 (or even 6 columns) to make the game more challenging. ### 5/5 — Solid implementation of a well loved game *2020-02-20, version 3.0* Controls are intuitive. But an earlier version that couldn’t be played on iOS versions beyond my iPhone 5 had addl features that I haven’t found here. For instance, you could lock in a color placement. You could click a color from a previous play and it would go up a move in the same position. Still playing, but would like a little more sophistication. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Broke good game *2019-12-07* Latest version is a huge step back; the ‘blank’ as a new color is ridiculous- and they didn’t even have a window come up to alert one to the change. Why do I now have to pay to get rid of adverts? How about a refund instead? Seeing as you have changed the game for your own financial gain. It is insulting that others can play this game for free while I would have to pay money to do so. Features like sound and repeat colors should be paid, not features that some people need in order to play the game. It is exceedingly rude to target a group of disabled individuals. This is like charging to use a wheelchair ramp! I'm sorry if I am taking this too hard, I am just sick and tired of games that offer no accommodation for my colorblindness, and to find one that does- but for a fee- is hugely degrading. ### 1/5 — Start over, devs *2014-04-24, version 2.1* If you accidentally touch the blue box at the top, the game is over. "Hints" = cheating, which is okay for single player, but this app isn't single player. It is normally solvable to 4 to 6 stages so you shouldn’t need all 10. The development team needs to now quickly add competition metrics, individual stats, and also sharpen the controls for speed and functionality.
