## What is Mat?

Mat Sjekk helps you make more informed food choices in the store. Scan the barcode to get product information and a simple assessment based on available data and open data sources.

NEW: Research
Want to dig deeper? The product view now includes a research section on Bovaer, NGT/GMO and insect meal – with a clear split between independent/official research (authorities and independent expert bodies) and producer/industry-funded research. Each source shows who is behind it, the funding, the mandate and a link to the original document, so you can judge for yourself.

What you get:
- Barcode scanner with quick product info
- Risk assessment for Bovaer, GMO in feed and insect meal
- E-numbers and additives explained
- Shopping lists you can save and reuse
- Research links with transparency about funding and source
- Available in 11 languages

Privacy and ads
The app uses a consent flow (GDPR) before ads load. If you have not consented, only non-personalised ads are shown, and ads are hidden in fullscreen. You can remove ads via an in-app purchase.

Mat Sjekk gives you sources, context and comparable information – you make the choices yourself. The app is not a medical or legal advisory service.
