Developers please sort it out. ### 2/5 — Charges you even if you cancel *2025-07-15* Fairly easy to use but reluctant to book games because if you cancel it charges you. And I don’t like the Identity Politics of Pride or whatever the Day / Month happens to be spreading all over the App. Let’s just play sport and pay for it..! ### 2/5 — Nearly good *2025-03-20* We play Padel as a group once a week and book more than one court to play on. The app won’t let us book a court and then join another on the same day. We are having to BACS payments to each other every week. Very annoying ### 2/5 — Not great *2025-02-05* Let’s start with the positive; it’s an easy app to use. Unfortunately there are too many negatives. If you book 14 days ahead (as we do to get availability), Matchi debit the full non member court rate from the account of the court booker. You then do not get the refund (less your part), until 15 days later. It is a lot of money as we book for two hours! It is a terrible system. I always check my account for refunds and unfortunately have found the following errors so far: One booking I was debited twice- this has now been refunded. One booking was cancelled a week before but I have never received the refund - £50! I am still waiting for the refund (so far one month later) One debit from my account from December, I have no record of and no receipt. I have so far had no explanation. I also had another booking (November) where there was a glitch and one of the four couldn’t book on (because it still showed the person that had cancelled). I ended up being £3 down from that. I emailed Matchi but never had a response so I gave up on that one! If I hadn’t checked my account/ bookings, I would be £70 out of pocket. The response to emails is very poor. ### 2/5 — Some pretty annoying bugs *2025-01-17* On the whole it’s alright but recent bugs have made it frustrating to use. When sharing a match in a public WhatsApp group, it’s possible for players who want to join the match to see there are slots open but unable to join. From the slot owners view point, there will be players in the “invited players” section and there are still open slots on the booking. In reality what’s happened is a player has joined the booking, taken the slot, but not yet paid. This is confusing for players wanting to join the slot and the slot owner as no one can do anything about it apart from the player who has joined but not paid. If you don’t know the player and can’t find them in the WhatsApp group, you’re powerless to communicate with the player to ask them to pay or leave the match. I feel this issue relates to changes made around Autumn 2024 when the public matches mode was introduced as this is when the bug started to appear If MATCHi could fix this issue it would be a 5 star app but this proves to be a consistent issue with the platform. - Give slot owners better visibility and power on a match. - Stop the “joined but not paid” players taking the slot and preventing other players and owners from being able to do anything about it **Developer response:** Thank you for your detailed feedback. I want to clarify how the booking system works, as there might be some confusion about what you're experiencing. Players invited via a link, like in a WhatsApp group, can't join the booking without paying to confirm their spot. The only time someone can take up a spot without paying is when you invite them via the friends list. You can always remove these players if they haven't paid yet. If you're still experiencing issues where players can't join open slots, please let us know by providing specific examples with booking details so we can investigate further. I cancelled my booking and then rebooked, it caused some glitch so people could not pay in the app for the court. All of a sudden, I’m stuck in a sign in loop where I can’t actually get in. It won’t let me reach the log in web page. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and updating my iOS. Still broken. As I want to play Padel I use it but it’s so user-unfriendly, and not intuitive. Cons: - book an open session that others can find and join - you can’t pay with Amex - you can’t track your skill level and find games best suited - you can’t easily join leagues - the whole UI/UX is really clunky and not very intuitive - you don’t have any community or social features on the app - you can’t easily manage your membership on the app Pros: - you can split payments Overall I would sooner use a court slightly further away that use one where I have to book with matchi. At lot of others at the same venue feel the same.
