Whole game just smells like a cash grab for easy money by scamming people. Not to mention how the puzzles seem rigged why are you only giving 20 moves to unlock multiple bags, flowers, buckets and get rid of all of the paint? Definitely need to rethink the puzzle aspect if you want people to actually enjoy it. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2022-10-11, version 1.1.9* So this is really a pay to win type of game. After a certain point, you HAVE to purchase the boosters in order to barely pass levels or even get 3 stars. What you score on your level determines the “speaking” options for you character. If you get a 1 star on the level, you get a 1 star option when speaking to other Islanders. This obviously gives you a negative effect and decreases your relationships… unless OF COURSE; you used your purchased diamonds to unlock the better choice & every choice costs 500 diamonds or more 😒😤🙄 ### 2/5 — Ehh *2022-06-07, version 1.1.9* I give this app 2 stars because it’s fairly challenging, however the storyline is unfair. You have to play difficult mini games. If you want more than 20 diamonds you have to pay money and every item costs 1,000 diamonds. I have been playing the game for almost a year now trying to beat the mini games without paying. I finally finished the game and it was so not worth it. It’s fun to just play but a game should not take a year to finish I played every day. After every one line in the book which is only like 5-10 words said there comes a mini game, they need to upgrade. ### 3/5 — Update Please *2022-03-30, version 1.1.8* I love this game but I absolutely hate when I’m playing a puzzle and I lose, and the option for 5 more plays for 1,000 coins pops up immediately. There’s been multiple times when I’m in a flow of playing the puzzle and I accidentally hit that option and now all the coins I’ve been saying up for a dress/clothes is gone because it pops up right away. At least update the game so when we hit that button we have to push “ok” first or the game double checks that’s what we really want to do because it’s so frustrating when I’ve been saving for so long and lose all my hard work. A lot of times I don’t even complete the level because I knew I wouldn’t be able to win but I waste my 1,000 coins. Or smallest change to how much we have to pay for the coins, like 500 for 5 plays is much more reasonable. Anyways I love the storyline and the puzzles are my absolute favorite of any game I’ve ever played. Please update though, I would really appreciate it. ### 2/5 — Puzzles interrupt story, app stopped working *2022-03-19, version 1.1.8* My number one issue is for over 5 hours now I haven’t been able to get the game to load. I’ve restarted the game and phone with no fix. Secondary is that the puzzles just occur too frequently and disrupt the dialogue a little too much. I don’t mind the puzzles as a way to move to story forward in contrast to Choices, but some are just really difficult and take too many attempts without using power ups. ### 3/5 — I don’t know … *2022-02-26, version 1.1.7* I love the concept of everything that the game now offers. But, this candy crush type of game… it pops up to often. Literally after every sentence someone says, it shoots me to a mini game. Most of them are almost impossible to get 3 stars off of, I feel like yall are close to a perfect game but not just yet. Hire me lol, I have so many ideas that I can bring to the table as a dedicated love island game fan . Just a thought lol. ### 2/5 — Money grab game *2021-12-08, version 1.1.4* Its really nice to be able to re visit the love island stories and the new ones too are interesting however I Dont like when games make puzzles increasingly hard because they want you to buy gems/power ups in order to solve the puzzle. And unfortunately you do need to solve the puzzle in order for the story to progress. It really was a nice idea but again its like when you were given gem choices and expected them to be great and instead they fell flat and weren’t worth it at all in the love island game( ie paying for your character to get stickers put all over for a party but didnt change or add anything interesting to the story) ### 2/5 — If I wanted to play a jewel game… I’d download one. *2021-12-03, version 1.1.3* 2 stars just because I liked seeing a different version of the Love Island game seasons and the graphics were great… other than that it might have been one star. As fans of the Love Island show, the Love Island game turned out to be something entertaining to do with my friends over quarantine. However, this game for me is a hard pass. I think Fusebox wanted to find some way to set themselves apart from other story apps, but this just isn’t the way. You’re made to play a puzzle game between every single conversation and the puzzles often take longer to get through than the bits of dialogue you get in between. If I wanted to play a puzzle game, I would’ve downloaded a puzzle game. Bringing two beloved concepts together doesn’t mean they’ll work together. I was so turned off the puzzles that it actually felt like a chore and I couldn’t bring myself to explore anymore of the app. It has such potential, but it’s not worth the time. Stick to the several other story apps that don’t make you work to read. If you’re desperate for a puzzle game amidst your reading, stop every 30 seconds to play Candy Crush and it’ll be just like using Matchmaker. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2021-12-01, version 1.1.3* I played the other Love Island game/app by fuse box and spent plenty of money having fun! I don’t mind spending some money on these games and have used many interactive story apps without the puzzles etc. However, I quickly found myself spending money on this app to continue playing- way more often than other games I have played. The mazes were okay at first but they get to be too much. I have spent days trying to pass levels lately as I collect gems and boosters daily so I can play without spending more money and it’s not working. ### 3/5 — Could be better *2021-11-14, version 1.1.2* First off I love that I don’t have to pay gems for choices and the idea of puzzles to gain stars for choices is genius… however there are far too many puzzles it’s hard to read the actually story and the puzzles are quite hard to gain much more than 1 or 2 stars. I started love island but didn’t finish mostly because I have played many story games including the official love island game and I didn’t like that most if not all the characters were the same as the other game. I don’t know if the storyline was the same but I assumed so since Allegra hates you in both storylines. ### 3/5 — My idea to improve game *2021-11-10, version 1.1.1* At first I should say this game is so exiting and addicting but just it can be better with this two ideas: 1. I wish I could see the question before solving puzzles to know how hard I want to solve it. (Maybe I just needed 1 star for that situation). 2. It would fare if it has a restart button affter finishing each puzzle then we could have another try for more stars. ### 2/5 — Second time downloading this game *2021-11-07, version 1.1.1* I was pleasantly surprise to see other games to play in this app. I finished one shorter story, then started playing Love Island season 1. I did complete it, but spent real money to be able to finish some of the puzzles. Started season 2 and now I am stuck. I really don’t want to spend more money, so am thinking of deleting it again. Many of the puzzles are way too hard, gets you discouraged very quickly. It would have been a good game if it wasn’t for that. ### 3/5 — Too many puzzles *2021-10-18, version 1.0.9* I decided to download this since i’M addicted to the Love Island Game on my phone but the 1st thing I noticed about this when I downloaded it is they make you play too many puzzles too often. I can’t even have a conversation in the story before another puzzle game pops up. It’s really annoying. If I had to play those less often I would rate this game higher. Have them pop up every once in a while. Not every second. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2021-09-20, version 1.0.5* I would like to start by saying I NEVER write reviews, but this app finally got me. I am a huge fan of Love Island the Game, so I figured I’d try this game while waiting for season 4. I agree with a lot of other reviewers that this game has potential, but the amount of time spent playing the match levels compared to the amount of story you get is disappointing. Spending 5 mins playing a level just to get three lines of dialogue and one choice is frustrating and makes me not want to keep playing. Then, factor in that you don’t always win the level, meaning you have to dedicate even more time to three lines of dialogue. Another issue I have is the inability to pick between all three options unless you spend and absurd amount of gems or get three stars on a level. I like the idea of the game, but match levels need to be less frequent and the stories need to be more openly playable like LITG. ### 3/5 — The potential is there… *2021-09-18, version 1.0.5* As a longtime fan of Fusebox games, the potential with this app is endless. The format, graphics, animation, new dialog - it is absolutely so fun. However, the real fun of these “choices” games is the suspended animation, the way you can get lost in a storyline as if you were reading a really good graphic novel. The puzzles here are occasionally fun, but completely disrupt the dialogue, making it impossible to really enjoy the storylines available. And while this has been said before… I’m 30 years old with a masters degree and these puzzles are hard and nearly impossible to complete on the first try without power ups. While they’re fun puzzles, I do think having them once in between CHAPTERS would satisfy whatever urge Matchmaker has to be a “puzzle game” while also keeping the storylines in tact and enjoyable. Right now, this app is fun to look at. But to play? Do you want to be another mindless gem game, or would you rather make your money from your fan’s interest in your stories? Fans of Fusebox are significantly disappointed – stick to the stories and you’ll have a long, successful history with this App. And as a testimony, I didn’t even watch Love Island before I found Fusebox. The old app with JUST THE STORIES was that interesting to me… just a thought. ### 3/5 — Stuck *2021-09-09, version 1.0.4* I’ve been playing this game for a while I’m almost to the end on my last two stories I don’t understand why the screen has been stuck for almost a week now. Every time I click to play a level usually it’ll have the items I have to collect on top but it’s all white then it has my power boosters at 99 each soon as I click to play the level it’s stuck on the blue matchmaker screen. I powered my phone off twice so it’s not that I uninstalled the app twice with my progress still in tact and nothing has changed ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Good graphics, disappointing game *2022-09-07, version 1.1.9* I've played (and liked) all of the Love Island games and have never left a review, but had to after being so incredibly disappointed by this game. It's clear that most of the effort went into the graphics, which are nice, and the matching game, which is way too challenging for most people. The plot lines themselves are so messy and incomplete. I've played through Season 1 twice, once with Levi and once with Talia, but when I tried to couple up with a different person (Reese) on the third try (despite having all 3-star scenes and having good chats with him), the game *automatically* chose Levi at the next recoupling. I was so frustrated that I quit the season and restarted Season 2 to see if I could get different endings (won with Bobby and Henrik before). Even after having all 3-star scenes and good chats with Elijah in Casa Amor, his name didn't show up as an option when considering a new partner for the recoupling (even though my character told him beforehand that she would choose him). And even when you DO get the partners you want, the writing is sloppy and the interactions are pretty much copy and pasted for each partner, rather than giving them unique scenes. Combined with how much time and energy you need to play the game, it's not worth it. Don't waste your time (and especially money). ### 1/5 — Irritating *2022-04-29, version 1.1.8* This is my first ever review on anything from the App Store, and I’ve had an iPhone for over a decade now. I’ve played Love Island since the first season came out, and I’ve replayed it a few times. I love the new dialogue and updated graphics in this version of the game, however I absolutely detest the puzzles you have to play after six lines of dialogue. I would love to play the game with the graphics and new dialogue, but these puzzles have irritated me to the point that I’ve deleted the game all together. It’s just not worth it. If they ever update the game and remove those puzzles, I’ll come back to it. ### 1/5 — Love the story plots hate the overall game! *2021-10-12, version 1.0.8* This actually has me majorly disappointed in fusebox games. As I completely love love island the game and anticipate every new season. I’ve spent money on that game put hours into that game. I was hoping this game would be the same and at first glance with the slight changes to story to honestly things we wanted in love island to happen happen in this game but it’s horrible on gameplay. Like seriously if we earn 3 stars let us go through a bit of the story before having to play again or let us accumulate stars. But you make it super hard to play, you make it painstakingly long and boring, why is everything costing players so much. And don’t get me started on the art being a downgrade. This nowhere near meets up to love island and has me looking at the company a little differently for how much they PUSH this painstakingly obvious MONEY GRABBING game. My hope for you is to listen to your consumers I am not the only one. how this still has 4 stars I don’t know! Deleted maybe one day I hope to download again and see amazing changes to a story line we all wanted. ### 1/5 — Sad excuse for a narrative game *2021-09-28, version 1.0.6* It’s a generic match three game that takes a ton of points to get more than one or two stars for a choice in the story you’re currently going through. As for the story itself, you get maybe five lines of dialogue and a choice (which, for the LITG parts at least, you’re forced to be rude because you didn’t score enough stars. This is a sad excuse as a replacement for Love Island the Game. Shame the developers are putting all their time and energy into this instead of thought-out content on their other app. ### 1/5 — Awful *2021-09-15, version 1.0.4* Love island the game is a favorite among hundreds of thousands of people. So what does fuse box do? they start creating a different type of game that is complete garbage. If i wanted to play candy crush I would. There are so many other interactive reading and choice games that this game should not exist. Fusebox is self destructing. Nobody wants to play this version. At first I wasn’t too bothered because all the seasons on MM are also on love island the game but now they are starting to only release stuff on matchmaker instead. It’s so so sad to see a game I love turned into a parody. Clearly fusebox doesn’t listen to their fan base. Enjoy the huge loss of money now that you’re no longer releasing LI content and only matchmaker. I’ll go play choices or chapter or the other 100 games that are a million times better than this. Do not waste your time or money people. ### 1/5 — It’s ok but *2021-09-04, version 1.0.4* the concept of this app it’s fun but the lvls for the game get quite frustrating especially when trying to achieve 3 stars one star is close then the other two are at the end and even past 50-70k points isn’t enough to unlock them. In order to choose an option that I didn’t unlock I have to spend gems which is 90% of the events especially in the love island games. I would much rather play the other app for love island and pay for the tickets and gems for the whole story play through them on here because I can actually pick what I want to say to other islanders it is super frustrating when I have some characters being sarcastic and rude to my character and I can’t make a comeback but the one star option which is usually “ let’s just go to bed “ or “ya whatever” or something similar. That to me is boring and I can’t keep my interest in this game much longer. Also conversation is really short which is frustrating I desired to remove this app. I would love if you updated the love island app an added edititing your character just like in two and three with outfits and more details. Especially like in app. The revamp on the characters look amazing reminds me a lot of 3 or focus more effort on making lobs island 4 on the original app ### 1/5 — Dropped the ball with this one *2021-08-26, version 1.0.3* As an avid player of Love Island the Game I was really excited to see this on the App Store! I love matchmaker type games and have dropped countless dollars on the original LITG (oops haha), so it was really disappointing to get so far deep into this game (at least 30 levels) and have it feel worthless. Especially since I know the owner of fusebox wanted this to appeal to a “global audience.” Well hi! American here, I don’t like this game, and I wish the effort that has been put into this was put into the 4th season of LITG instead of this. A lot of the plot and content was changed from LITG, and that’s fine, I just wish we had more options and routes we could take that also differ from season one if that’s the case. I also feel like we get veryyyyy little story for the work we do in the mini games. I also wish OP had more body choice options/sizes/styles available. Not everyone looks like a Barbie doll. I know a cash grab when I see one, and this is definitely it, and it’s not worth the time. ### 1/5 — highly disappointed *2021-08-08, version 1.0.0* when i saw the ad for this i was thinking a revamped love island the game with more stories and different genres and better visuals. unfortunately, it’s a matchmaking game which i feel wouldn’t be horrible if it wasn’t so frequent like every conversation you have there's a puzzle before it. that’s ridiculous and the fact that you have to do well on the puzzles to make choices completely takes away the enjoyment of the story. now i’m making choices and the story is going in directions i don’t want and that’s not a good story app to me. i can’t really tell what is the important factor for the game either the story or the game ?? the way it’s looking is, it’s the game because the story isn’t even yours if you don’t do well in the game. also, wayyy too expensive for clothes , hair, shoes and accessories. it’s completely unrealistic and a clear money grab so please don’t waste your money play love island the game if this game is your introduction to fusebox. it’s much better for storytelling and less expensive. however, i love the animation on the characters and how much cleaner the app is as far as visuals but i hope these negative reviews will be an eye opener for the developers to try something different because this is not it. ### 1/5 — A weird mix *2021-08-08, version 1.0.0* The story totally takes away from the matchmaker part since you don’t even feel accomplished when you finally beat a level only to get one star and be forced to turn down the person you like super rudely or spend real money, and the matchmaker part practically ruins the story. You don’t even know what choice is coming up, and you can’t replay individual levels. Also sometimes there is so much time in between the super short story portions because you can’t beat a level that it breaks all continuity. Also a lot of the levels just aren’t very fun to play. There are way better matchmaker games out there, and if you want a story game I recommend Choices. No need to play a poorly combined mixture where both parts are a total disappointment ### 1/5 — Cash grab with bad development *2021-07-07, version 0.9.8* This game is a low tier rehash of Fusebox’s Love Island: The Game. In fact, it isn’t a rehash at all; it is the same game except transformed into a Match Three type game. Match Three levels are placed between incredibly short intervals, making it impossible to progress through stories at a steady speed. If stars earned though matching levels allowed players to participate in as many following decisions, this would not be a problem (3 stars equaling 3 decisions, not 3 stars equaling 1 decision with three available choices). Players are limited in options they can respond with based on how many stars they received, every level. It doesn’t seem like there is an option to play levels outside of dialogue, slowing down the progress even more. Overall, this is a disappointing excuse for new development by the company and it is regrettable that so many writers were laid off of the LITG team for a game that has completely disappointed Fusebox’s fans. **Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! The way it’s scored almost always ends with 1 star and when do you get more than 1 star it gets used on a stupid choice. If you can’t get above 1-2 stars every games you will be hated by the house and only gave the options to be rude and cold. Deleted and never playing again only put 5 stars so this can been seen. Still the first love island game. ### 5/5 — This is Love Island Game but MORE interactive *2021-11-04, version 1.1.1* I really enjoy seeing the characters in action. They look great updated and live. The typical puzzle is a bit bleh because most app games have this already, but it’s easy and really engages the player to keep playing since it’s used to unlock character interactions. ### 5/5 — Literally my fave games in one *2020-09-10, version 0.8.0* I love the love island game and I love candy crush so this is perfect. It is lame that you need over 1,000 gems to get any of the cool stuff but obviously the programmers are just trying to make money on that front. But I loved the love island game because it made gems more affordable and you could get a lot with a little gems so i wish you could either earn more gems or they didn’t make it necessary to have over a thousand to get a cool outfit or make a better choice. ### 4/5 — Puzzles *2022-07-29, version 1.1.9* I enjoy playing Matchmaker and find it fun with the storyline and dialogue. I also like that instead of having to pay 1000 diamonds to pick the choice I want, I can just play the puzzles to get stars and pick that choice. But the puzzles also seem to be the problem for me. In the beginning, the puzzles were fun to play, but now it’s just very annoying and frustrating. The puzzles can be too hard at times and I could spend days trying to complete the puzzle instead of playing the actual game. And when I’m finally able to play the actual game and pick choices, I get another puzzle in less than 5 minutes. It takes the fun out of the game and makes me not enjoy it very much. A suggestion could be giving us the option to play the puzzle instead of having us play it and being stuck on it for days. Say I want to pick a choice while in the middle of dialogue, but the choice costs diamonds and I don’t have enough. I could choose to play the puzzle to win stars and be able to pick the choice I want. Besides this, I enjoy the game and hope more stories get added to it. ### 4/5 — Almost 5 Stars *2022-03-11, version 1.1.7* I absolutely love this game. Honestly I prefer to solve a free puzzle that’ll determine my choices rewards as opposed to BUYING diamonds or gems!!! But some of these puzzles are HARD!!! Sometimes it takes me DAYS doing the same puzzle when I’m so eager to see what happens next. Sometimes even with the power-ups the puzzles are still hard. I don’t mind a challenging puzzle, but if I’m taking DAYS and 5 lives every time they refill and I still can’t get it, then it’s too hard… I love the “watch an ad” for power ups and lives, but I think the puzzles could be a little more doable… not nearly impossible. Sometimes it makes me stay off the game for weeks because I get so fed up. If the puzzles weren’t impossible sometimes, then I would say this is THE perfect puzzle / choices game combination. When it is enjoyable to relax and solve a puzzle while doing a story, it’s my favorite game ever! ### 4/5 — Need more stories *2022-02-18, version 1.1.7* I’ve been playing this game for quite awhile. I enjoy the stories(especially bachelorettes in Vegas & seduction games). However, you need more adult stories than those. Wish you could play a scene through. *2021-10-02, version 1.0.7* It has good stories. If you played Love Island the Game there’s enough variance here from the original that it’s interesting. Its a pretty standard match format. I hate that you have to play a board for every single part of the convo. I wish you could either play a whole scene through between boards like most match games do or you could play a bunch of boards and hoard up points to play scenes through. The very disjointed scenes because you have play boards in between is annoying. Makes it hard for me to keep playing. ### 4/5 — just got it and it seems fun but *2021-07-20, version 0.9.9* so i just downloaded not long ago and i was super excited as i finished all the love island game series multiple times and when i realized it was a match 3 i was fine with it how ever there is way more match three then actual game play and i believe i speak for the majority of players when i say i downloaded it for the story line. i think it would be better if i could play multiple levels at once stock up on stars, then play without having to play match three after every sentence or two. also the price of the diamonds are a whole different story but from what i’ve played so far, as long as you get good scores you don’t really need them except for outfits and you start off with enough to by one outfit at least so good game and i love fuse box and love island but like i said i think it would be cool if you could play more then one level at once even if it was just a few more so u can get a bit more gameplay in a row ps cant wait for season 4 in the other love island game second ps levi is mine 😩 ### 4/5 — Fun twist on the original game *2020-09-08, version 0.8.0* If you like match three games and you choose your route games this is a great one. I like that it follows season one of the romance game but puts a twist on the original story. It is also great to have more options for who you can date too. Also having season 2’s wardrobe available instead of season 1’s is great. Some of the choices for what you can say or do are so fun and totally out there. It is a disappointment that if you only end up getting one star on a level that the cost of the other options is so high. Although I typically replay the level again until I earn enough stars to get the choice I would like to make. The reason I gave this only 4 stars is because the game is not complete.
