## What is MatchPoint?

MatchPoint is a modern platform for tennis and padel players who want to play more often, find better opponents and organise matches without the usual back-and-forth.

Whether you are looking for a competitive match, a regular hitting partner, a doubles game or a court to book, MatchPoint brings everything together in one simple experience.

FIND THE RIGHT PLAYERS

Discover tennis and padel players based on level, location, availability and playing preferences. Browse profiles, check ratings and connect with people who match the way you want to play.

No more endless group chats. No more guessing who is available. Open MatchPoint and find players ready to get on court.

PLAY MATCHES THAT FEEL BALANCED

MatchPoint uses player ratings and match history to help create fairer, more competitive games. New players can start with a provisional rating, while active players build their ranking through real match results.

Whether you are just getting started or trying to climb the leaderboard, you can find opponents that make every match worthwhile.

BOOK COURTS AT PARTICIPATING CLUBS

Browse clubs, courts and available time slots directly inside the app. Choose where and when you want to play, propose the booking to your opponent and keep the match details in one place.

MatchPoint helps remove the friction between finding a player and actually getting on court.

JOIN OPEN GAMES

Looking for a game soon? Join open games posted by other players, or create your own.

Already have a court booked? Post a hosted game and invite others to fill the remaining spots. It is a simple way to turn an empty court into a complete match.

TAKE A LESSON

Browse coaches for tennis and padel, filtered to your area. Each listing
shows the sports they teach, their teaching areas, qualifications, years of
experience and hourly rate, so you know what you are getting before you get
in touch.

Message a coach directly in the app to arrange a lesson. Coaches marked
Verified have shown the MatchPoint team their qualifications — it confirms
they genuinely teach, and is not a rating of how good the coaching is.

If you coach, you can list yourself in a few minutes and be found by players
nearby.

CLIMB THE RANKINGS

Play ranked matches, submit results and track your progress through Elo-based ratings.

MatchPoint supports tennis and padel rankings across different formats, including singles and doubles. Follow your wins, losses, recent matches and leaderboard position as your game develops.

CHAT, CONFIRM AND PLAY

Every match has a dedicated chat, so players can coordinate details, confirm the court, discuss timing and stay organised before playing.

You will also receive notifications for challenges, messages, bookings and match updates, so you do not miss anything important.

BUILT FOR PLAYERS AND CLUBS

For players, MatchPoint makes it easier to find games, book courts and compete.

For clubs, MatchPoint helps bring players into available court slots, organise bookings and support a more active sports community.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.18 — 2026-09-01

• Push notifications bug fix
• Score a super tie-break. When a match is level at one set each and you
settle it with a 10-point decider, you can finally record it — pick
"Super tie-break" under set 3 and enter it as 10-8. It counts as the set
it won, not as ten games, so it no longer distorts your totals
• Record a retirement. If a match stops early, enter the score up to that
point and pick who took it, instead of inventing a set nobody played
• Two ticks in match chat now mean what they say. They used to appear on
every message the moment you sent it, having checked nothing — now one
tick is sent and two is read, and in doubles two means everyone read it
• The chat no longer vanishes behind the keyboard. The cards above the
conversation used to take every pixel it had, leaving you typing into a
  box you could not see
• MatchPoint Live now asks inside the conversation, where every other
decision in a match chat already lives, instead of pinned above it

### 1.0.17 — 2026-08-28

• Smart Match: one tap on the home screen suggests opponents near you, at
your level, who actually reply to challenges — challenge any of them
straight from the list, with no filters to set up
• If nobody is free nearby we widen the search and tell you how far we
looked; if there is still nobody, we help you post a game so players
  can come to you instead
• A full friends list at last, with search by name or area, pending
requests, and a one-tap challenge on every row. You can now see which
of your friends are actually available
• Faster and more reliable: Improved performance after last
week's slowdowns, and accepting or declining a challenge now updates in
place instead of reloading the whole screen
• Light mode: player cards show their skill tier at a glance again, and
the "Take a seat" button in the Lobby is readable
• Fixed: the rankings podium counts up to the player's current rating
  instead of a stale one

### 1.0.16 — 2026-08-25

• Fixed: in light mode, date and time pickers rendered white on white. The
dates were there and tappable, you just could not see which one you were
tapping. Picking a time for a game was guesswork
• The lobby's two ways to post now read as a real choice: "I have a court"
against "No court yet — players first, court after"
• Challenges explains itself, and no longer points at a tab that was
  renamed months ago
• The player list shows people who have actually played first, instead of
burying them under accounts that signed up and never played

### 1.0.15 — 2026-08-23

• Light mode. The app was hard to read outdoors at midday — now it isn't.
Settings → Appearance, or let it follow your phone
• MatchPoint Live now takes your call on who wins, and shows how the
  crowd voted
• Fixed: a player's card could show wins and losses from a ladder they had
  never played on
• Padel has its own racket on profiles too, instead of a ping-pong paddle
• Unread counts, challenge cards and chat are easier to read

### 1.0.12 — 2026-08-20

Open Seats

Padel needs four. Until now you had to bring them. Now you can post a
game with open seats and let other players fill them — or take a seat
in someone else's game on your own.

• Post a game with the seats you need and watch them fill
• Take a single seat in any game with room at your level
• Choose how sides are decided: pick your seat and sit next to the
partner you want, or let the app even out the teams by level once
  the last seat fills
• Every game gets its own chat before it starts, so you can sort out
the court, the balls and who's running late — it carries over to the
match chat when the game fills
• Set an exact time, or a window you're free in and settle the details
  with the court
• Games outside your level are counted, not hidden, so an empty board
  tells you why

Also in this release:

• Rate everyone you played with after a match, not just one opponent
• If someone records a result you disagree with, you can contest it —
your rating stays as it is until it has been looked at
• A match can no longer be cancelled once a result is in
• Home now shows a match in progress while you are playing, and asks
for the result when it should have finished
• Find Opponent shows how many players you are searching, and coaches
  now have their own tab
• If a coach or club invited you, they get the credit — scan their code
or just tell us at signup who brought you
• Tell us what you are looking for — a quick game, a regular partner,
ranked matches — and pick as many as apply, not just one
• Greek translation and layout fixes throughout
