**Developer response:** This option is available if you set the 'Results Factor' value to 1.0 and all other point values options to 0.  A player will then be allocated a point for each point won.

We play Pickleball using 2 courts and have up to 20 members with different standards and our playing time is restricted to 2.5 hours! This is where Matchup offered us a perfect solution. It’s terrific and a life saver for our conveners :-)

I’ve been using this app for over six months to run my weekly pickleball round robin tournaments. We usually have 8 players however when we run 9 it automatically sets up bye rounds. Great app!

What an incredible app - I’ve coached tennis for 25+ years and tried lots of ways to organise competitions and social events. 
Due to the nature of entrants changing even last minute prep work was often wasted & pen & paper remained king.
Now with Match up I feel less stressed before events as the set up is easy, the options are varied and the ability to edit ‘live’ means no more scrambling around when players are waiting to start! 
New features to edit players, add substitutes, record scores on scoresheets have all helped make a fantastic app even better…. 
Credit to the team behind Match Up as they have over delivered with this app.

### 5/5 — Perfect App for running tennis and pickleball events

As a retired Tennis Director who ran tennis events for over 30 years and now finds himself running several pickleball groups for fun, this app solves many of the issues organizers face, gives you creative options for events and will make you look professional and super organized. Obviously developed my someone that has gone down this road!

This is an amazingly well thought out app that helps an event organizer deal with all the challenges of running an organized event and the issues that often occur such as: A) Player late or no shows B) A surprise last minute participant C) A player that gets injured, has to leave early, or just wants a rest. D) Grouping players by different levels, but making the draws look like one inclusive event. E) Flexibility to adjust pairings when needed. I could go on and on, but if you run these types of events, you owe it to yourself to try something that will make it so much easier!
Worth every penny!

I'm using this app to help a friend create schedules for his PickleBall group. It's especially nice since it's the only app I've found that allows for Mixed Doubles pairings SWITCHING partners every round. Of course, the program doesn't force the switching of 'teams', it's just a nice function the app supports. The program has many powerful features which I think tournament directors will find very useful.

We love this app! We used it last season for our Social Tennis Club. It’s easy to keep track of who’s player who and the different grouping types mix it up from our general manual system we used to use. This season though an update has removed our ability to override the generated fixtures which is really annoying! Any chance it can be reinstated? 
It was so useful and sometimes we just need to do a slight alteration to even out the skill level of teams.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. The override feature has not been removed but rather than ‘tap to edit’, it is now ‘swipe to edit’ (swipe from the left). The change was necessary when the ‘Up Next’ functionality was introduced.

I can honestly say I have never in my life written a review for an app, but wish I could shout from the rooftops about using MatchUp. I took over as tennis coordinator at a small tennis club earlier in 2022. We would have social mixers throughout the summer and needed a new way to organize players. I searched high and low before coming across MatchUp. After a few tweaks and understanding how to group people, this was a lifesaver. I received so much GREAT feedback from attendees that they enjoyed playing with different players, switching it up, and not having the anxiety of “gym class” and being picked last to play. I have not had any issues using the app and cannot recommend it enough. Best money I spent on our tennis club this summer!

This app saves heaps of time when organizing events or even just a social hit amongst a few players. It does the draw for you and also works out the winners list. Highly recommend this app.

I’m trying to organize a social round robin on 3 courts. After being told I needed to upgrade for 3 courts, and so I upgrade and what do you know… I still cannot organize 14 players on 3 courts. They want me to spend 25 dollars more after spending 8 already. I want my money back!! Plus the descriptions of upgrades are not clear at all.

**Developer response:** On the purchases view there is an Info button. If you had tapped on that button, you would have seen the matrix that provides a comprehensive view of what each upgrade pack provides. If you had looked at “Maximum Courts”, you would have seen that you need to upgrade to the OrganizerPlus or ClubPack version, not the Reporting Pack.

It seems like it’s perfect for my needs, but it won’t let me have more than 8 players.  I paid for the Reporting pack upgrade which says it allows 15 players, but it won’t add that functionality.  Please fix this bug.  I’m using it on an iPad Pro.

**Developer response:** This is not a bug.  If you had referred to the features info matrix before making a purchase, you would have found that the Reporting Pack upgrade provides access to the leaderboard & reports.  It does not remove the restriction of 8 players per group/15 players in total.

Does this app work standalone, or is WiFi required ?

**Developer response:** All functions in MatchUp work offline. However the following sections under ‘Settings’ require you to be online …User Guides, In-App purchases & Other (Privacy Policy, Contact MatchUp Support etc).

I bought the extra pack to be able to schedule a 12 person, 6 round, 3 court random doubles tennis drawing.  I was hoping to make sure that no on plays on the same court with the same person 3 times.   First few schedule put some players with others 4 times and I was able to manually edit.  Is there any way to keep iterating until I can get the matchup numbers right?

**Developer response:** It sounds like you have players in a number of groups & maybe using the ‘Within Groups” preferred match type which will limit the partners & opponents.

There are several ways to fix your issue:
1. Place all players in one group & there will be more players to mix with in each round. The preferred match type does not matter.
2. Group players according to skill level (and/ or gender) & use a range of preferred game types to mix players eg round 1: Within Groups, round 2 : ‘Adjacent Groups’ player & partner from adjacent groups etc.

The more players you have in a group, the better the mix will be.

The very simplest mixed Round Robin would be for 6 rounds of 12 players, 6 women and 6 men. It should be very easy to match each woman with each man one time only. The opponents may not be unique for each round but the partner should be. I made a group of men and a group of women and made my draw from the adjacent groups. There were at least 2 duplications of partnerships. Very disappointed in this app that I paid $16.99 for!!

Why can’t I print the Match from the app? Without a print option, the app is not really useful to me.

**Developer response:** Hello Jennifer, you can print the match from the Saved events 'Report' view using the Action button (on the top right).  This is a paid feature as explained in the App Store description.  Please refer to the user guide if you still don't know how to print the match if you have upgraded.  
The print option feature has been available since MatchUp was first launched.

Very easy to setup, just trying it out and comparing to other products it looks good. Only issue is that the report viewer is not working for me, comes out blank so I can’t print or share the matches with the players...

I really like this program. It would be super helpful though if you could edit the pairings for all the formats during play, not just the Social Doubles. (You know, the option to swipe right and select Edit…make this available for all formats of play.)

**Developer response:** Hello, in v8.3 we added the option to edit Round Robin matches (Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles & Teams) using the new ‘tap to edit’.  This was also applied to saved events.

Great app. I wish I could swap the order of rounds like we do with courts

There is a bug when formatting to print. When we choose, the report score matches. Round 4, 4th court gets cut off to the next page. I have tried many different ways, and I can’t fix that

We are an association with over 100 pickleball players. This app makes our sessions run smoothly and the assistance given by the creator is fantastic. Highly recommend.

When connected to a tv it doesn’t look the same. You need to refresh it every next game. Lucky I don’t need to connect it to external display due to that reason. I have an iPad Pro 12.9 inch. It’s just a pain if we have to use a smaller iPad which hasn’t happen very often.
Apart from that It’s a great app. I use it for our badminton club all the time. You can mix and match and change partner to even the game. Some app doesn’t allow for changes. It even allows you to rename the court number if you don’t use the consecutive one. 
I do love this app.

The external display layout is designed to not look the same, but to present a clear picture of the next round for the players to easily view from a distance on a TV screen.  You can set the "Auto Refresh Match View" switch to automatically update the screen when a new round is generated.

Couldn’t live without this app now. I have to coordinate multiple social match’s doubles and singles. Tournaments too. Being able to message individual players and groups of players makes my life so much easier. Well worth the money for what it saves me in time and trouble. Thankyou!

Matchup is perfect for taking the stress out of organising any pickleball event, easy to setup, with lots of options for game types, mixing up players, you can output to an external display, with a count down timer for all players to see. 
This app really has all the options you need to keep you fun social events flowing and a great way to mix you players around.

My local Pickleball gym uses it and I started using it for running our own PB tournaments. It is flexible and well thought out, from the round robins to the fixed pair matches….everything is doable.  We even started using it for our beach volleyball doubles tournaments… it saved us so much work keeping tabs of scores, then running the playoffs…. this was heaven sent and our beach tournament is very large with over 100 players…no more running around chasing scoresheets!

I have been looking for an all inclusive program to keep track of social or competitive leagues and this is the app you want!  Easy to learn and use.  Does everything I need it to do.  A couple of minor corrections needed like giving access to each player to their group so they can enter their own info and view reports, etc.  and being able to delete rounds once they are generated.  Other than those two things, it is a great app.

Edit: I am changing my review to 5 star because I got in touch with their support and clarified my concerns from bellow. Their algorithm can not do what I thought it could. But for other game modes it’s perfect

Bought the 22 euro version. Trying to set up a social doubles game with 5 groups. Even though I select Adjacent groups and we have enough players, the app constantly matches 4 people from the same group to play together. from round 1 they always play all 4 together on the same court. The button to get support in the app doesn’t work. Can’t find any other way to contact them. Requested a refund. Would gladly buy it again if this is resolved.
