Where an instructor has uploaded them, a lesson can show subtitles over the video. They stay off until you turn them on, and then the app remembers. • Chapters. A lesson that has them lists them, and tapping one jumps straight to that part. • Notes that keep the moment. A note can carry the second you were at when you wrote it; tap the timestamp later and the video goes back there. • Your playback speed carries from one lesson to the next instead of starting over at 1× every time. • Finishing a lesson or passing a quiz says on the spot what it earned you — "20 points on the way" — rather than leaving you to check later. • A course you cannot open yet says how far away it is: the level that opens it, how many points to go, and where to earn them. It no longer offers a button that was always going to be refused. • A lesson released on a schedule opens at that lesson when you tap the notification, with its section already unfolded, instead of at the top of the course. • A room or an event attached to a lesson shows when it opens, and lets you in the moment it does, without reloading the page. • Marking a lesson complete is now final. That badge used to be a button, and a mis-tap could quietly undo the progress behind it. Typing in forms • Twelve screens used to leave their last fields under the keyboard with no way to scroll them into view: lesson notes, a course review, creating an event, scheduling a room, applying for verification, and the account forms. They follow the cursor now. Elsewhere • The menu no longer offers Courses or Events in a community that has never created any. • An @name that belongs to nobody is shown as plain text, rather than as a link to a page that isn't there. • Space and profile pages no longer put two search buttons a row apart. • When a host ends a live session, everyone else is told it ended, instead of getting an error and a retry that could not have worked. • Raising your hand in a webinar and being let up now actually puts you on stage — with your camera on, if you granted it. ### 1.4.8 — 2026-09-03 Points that say what you did • Every line of your points history now reads in your own language and names what earned it — a post, an accepted answer, a lesson finished, an invitation someone took up. Reversed entries say so, instead of arriving as a bare negative number. • The rules list is grouped by kind, says "Unlimited" where there is no daily cap, and shows how much of today's cap you have used. • Login streaks: how many days you have kept it going, your longest run, and how far the next milestone is. • A level or a milestone you reach now opens the member center when you tap it, rather than stopping at the notification list. Webinars and rooms • A host can invite someone onto the stage. Changing a person's role and putting them on stage are two different things, and the app now says which one you are doing: a role change takes effect the next time they join. • Being removed from a room is no longer a dead end. The way back is offered, and only a ban is final. • Whoever the host has spotlighted is marked on their tile, so you can still tell who it is after tapping someone else to fill your screen. In small rooms the spotlight now shows at all — it used to be ignored whenever the grid fitted everyone. • Going back out of a room asks first, but only when leaving would cost something: your microphone or camera is on, or the room is yours. • When you create a room, it tells you how long the session can run, what is limiting it, and that fewer seats buy a longer session. • When a host ends the meeting, everyone else leaves cleanly instead of seeing an error and a reconnection attempt. • Leaving a room no longer crashes on Android for people who were speaking. Spaces • A space's description is shown the way it was written — headings, lists, links — and links in cards and lists no longer read their address out loud. • A long description is no longer quietly cut short when you edit something else about the space. Elsewhere • The onboarding cards follow the language the app is in. • Crashes and freezes are now reported automatically so they can be fixed. Diagnostic reports carry no post or message content. ### 1.4.6 — 2026-08-29 Notifications that actually say something • Dozens of notifications that used to arrive as a blank line — or that led nowhere when tapped — now read as a sentence and open the right screen: course enrolments and completions, a certificate that is ready, a new lesson, content that has just unlocked, badges, levels and achievements. • Anything of yours held for review or removed is now somewhere you can see it, with the reason, under Member center › My content › Content review status. • You are told when your role in a Space changes, when you are removed, banned or muted, and when a request to join a Space is waiting for you. • Reports you send come back to you: whether we acted on them or not. • If a site administrator accesses your account, you are notified. • Push notifications open the thing they are about. A few kinds used to dead-end on the notification list. • Notification settings gained two more categories you can turn off on their own: System notifications and Courses. Your language and your appearance, on your account • Both now belong to your account instead of this one phone: sign in somewhere else and they come with you. • Each gained a "Match community" option — take the language, or the light or dark look, that the community itself is set to. Rooms • The video stage is a grid. Tap someone to see them large and tap again to go back — with two people, the old layout cut faces in half. • Locking your phone during a room no longer takes you out of it: your camera turns off, your voice and your seat stay. • Listening to a webinar in the background no longer keeps four video streams decoding for a screen nobody is looking at. • A few hundred raised hands and the queue still scrolls smoothly. • If the phone runs low on memory during a room, the app frees what it can and tells you. • A room that has ended no longer leaves a frozen picture behind, and leaving one no longer spins. • Flipping the camera works again on both platforms, and follows the camera that actually opened. • Host actions the server refuses now say so, instead of looking like they worked. Fixes • Pinned posts no longer appear twice, once at the top and again in the feed. When there are many they collapse, and they step aside while you filter by topic. • After signing in as someone else, chat no longer sends under the previous account. ### 1.4.2 — 2026-08-27 Interactive rooms and webinars • Live is made of rooms now, in three shapes — a video room for a round table or a class, an audio room for an AMA or a community radio hour, and a webinar where a few people present to an audience. • Create one from Live: choose the space, give it a title, start now or schedule it. Whether it can be recorded, whether it has a chat, and who may speak are all decided up front. • Pre-join is a real screen, not a formality: see your own picture, decide whether your camera and microphone go in with you, and nothing is published until you tap Join. • Hosts get a backstage. Check your sound and your picture while nobody can join and nobody can see anything, then open the room once it is actually ready. • In a webinar the audience watches with camera and microphone off, and is never asked for either. Raise a hand to ask to come up; a host can invite you on stage, and accepting is still your call. Step down whenever you like. • Hosts can mute someone for the moment, pin them to the stage, change their role, remove them, or ban them from the session. Any message in the chat can be reported. • A room is recorded only if the host allowed it when creating it, and then everyone is asked to agree before they can join. You can decline, or withdraw and leave. A recorded room turns into a replay once it is ready. • Send the sound where you want it: phone, speaker, headphones or Bluetooth. • The room's chat stays reachable at every point — waiting for the host, inside the room, and after it has ended. Rooms appear in communities that have them turned on. Where Live lives • Live is a place in the menu, with three tabs — Live now, Upcoming and Replays. All three kinds of room show up there. • When the chat is rate-limited it tells you how many seconds are left, instead of just failing. • A replay says how long the room ran and how many people were there at its peak. • Rotate a replay to fullscreen and the picture stays edge to edge: the chat floats over it, instead of an opaque column across the right third. • Recordings shot in portrait take the shape of the video, instead of sitting in a strip between two thick bars. • A room in a Space you have not joined offers you the Space, instead of a permission error. • Live links shared from the web open in the app. Audio that keeps playing • A podcast keeps playing when you leave the app or lock your phone, with controls on the lock screen, instead of stopping the moment the screen goes dark. • A webinar you are listening to keeps playing in the background too. A room you can speak in does not: leaving the app leaves the room, and the app says so before you join. Fixes • Videos no longer catch your taps while they rebuffer: an invisible overlay used to cover the picture whenever playback paused to load. • A link preview whose card has expired is rebuilt, instead of quietly refusing to attach. • A Space's notification sheet now describes each level the way it actually behaves. • On a profile, the @handle no longer runs underneath the Follow button. • Follow and Join buttons announce their state to screen readers. • Communities that had customized their menu now receive newly added entries — which is how Live reaches them at all. • A refreshed app icon. ### 1.3.5 — 2026-08-18 Courses and a Leaderboard in the menu • Courses now sit at the top level of the menu instead of behind Explore, and a community can hide the entries it doesn't use — so the menu shows what your community actually runs. • New Leaderboard: the site-wide points ranking, with This week / This month / All time. It appears where the community has points and leaderboards turned on. Notification settings that tell the truth • The Email switches now read the settings that actually gate delivery. If your account never saved notification settings, Email will look mostly off the first time you open the screen — that is the display being corrected, not something we turned off. • Push and email are only sent after an in-app notification exists, so In-app now appears as what it is: the gate above the other two. Turn it off and the switches it disables are dimmed and say why. • A Space you never customized now sits at All activity instead of Highlights. Highlights hides likes and reposts, so as a default it was quietly cancelling every like notification — the Likes toggle in settings finally does something. Notification taps land where they should • Tapping a security alert now opens your active sessions, and tapping a new-follower alert opens that profile. Both used to drop you at the notification centre. • Sign-in alerts are shorter: the title, device · location, and a link to your sessions — instead of a four-row table that pushed everything else off screen. Publishing tells you what really happened • A blog held for review, or scheduled for later, now says so. It used to be announced as published while the article was nowhere to be found. • Editing a live article that trips a content rule now tells you it has come off the site pending review, instead of a plain "Blog updated". • When a content rule blocks an event, the message names the rule, so you know what to edit.
