## What is Math Grid?

Math Grid turns the classic Japanese "hyakumasu keisan" (100-square calculation) into a joyful daily habit. One operation in the corner, numbers across the top and side — your child fills every square, beating their own best time.

BUILT FOR AGES 5-7 (AND UP)
- Four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Grid sizes from a friendly 3x3 up to the legendary 100-square
- Auto mode quietly adapts the difficulty: two strong rounds move up a level, a tricky day gently adjusts down - never framed as failure
- Tricky facts quietly reappear in new grids until they are mastered

FRIENDS AND LEADERBOARDS
- Add a friend with a simple friend code (you both accept) and compare your weekly and all-time stars
- See who is online with a friendly presence dot
- Family leaderboard: star champions and fastest fingers

BATTLE A FRIEND
Race a friend on the very same grid:
- Challenge an online friend into a live battle with a single tap
- Online Battle: open a room with a 6-digit code and play in real time. If no one is online, a friendly practice opponent steps in.
- Code Battle: finish a round to get a secret code you can send to a friend so they play the identical grid offline - fastest time wins.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE
Each week features a friendly challenge - a trickier operation or a bigger grid to give a go. Try it and earn extra stars for having a crack. A gentle nudge to explore the harder squares, never a chore, and never any pressure to keep a streak.

MADE FOR FAMILIES
- Up to 6 player profiles, each with their own avatar, colour, progress and streaks
- A practice calendar that glows brighter the more stars you earn
- Parent dashboard (behind a grown-up gate): accuracy charts, level overrides, tricky-facts list

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your child's progress stays on their device. Math Grid has no ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking and no account. The only data that ever leaves the device is for the optional online features: an Online Battle shares just a first name and avatar to run the live match, and the Friends feature shares a first name, avatar, colour, star counts and a simple online/offline status - only with friends you have both accepted. Purchases, external links and sharing sit behind a parental gate.

FREE TO PLAY
3x3 and 4x4 grids, all four operations, Auto mode, battles, friends and 3 profiles are free forever. Math Grid Premium unlocks 5x5 and the full 100-square, manual level picking and premium avatars. The Family plan adds up to 6 profiles with Family Sharing.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6 — 2026-08-11

• A new best gets a proper moment now: a little fanfare, and the badge lands with some weight behind it.
• Badges are celebrated the moment they're earned, instead of waiting to be found later.
• Parents get a weekly progress card showing how your child's own times have moved since last week.
• Reminders are yours to set — a weekly progress note, a daily nudge to play, or neither. Everything stays on the device.
• The games counter stopped moving after 200 rounds. It counts them all again.

### 1.5 — 2026-07-26

• A freshly redesigned Premium screen — clearer plan comparison and a more polished, premium look.
• Behind-the-scenes performance and stability improvements.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-21

• New in Settings: "Share Anonymous Usage Data" — help us improve Math Grid with anonymous statistics (never names or content). Optional, on by default, and you can switch it off any time.
• Fixed two Settings labels that appeared in English on non-English devices.
• Small under-the-hood improvements.

### 1.3 — 2026-07-04

New ways to play together — and a friendly weekly challenge.

FRIENDS, LIVE
- See which of your friends are online, right now.
- Challenge an online friend straight into a real-time battle with a single tap.
- Optional (parent opt-in): a gentle notification when a friend adds you or accepts your request. No reminders, no marketing - just those two moments.

THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE
- Each week features a friendly challenge - a trickier operation or a bigger grid to give a go - and you earn extra stars for having a crack. A nudge to explore, never a chore.

ALSO
- Smoother battles: clearer results and a "leave the battle?" safeguard so a stray tap never forfeits by accident.
- A tidier 100-square grid, Japanese wording polish, and other small fixes.

• New weekly and all-time star leaderboards — be an all-time champion, or top this week's fresh board where anyone can climb to the top.
• Small fixes and polish.
