### 3/5 — Screen orientation

*2014-03-06*

I have this on my old ipad. I like how basic it is and fun for my kids. But now on my new ipad mini, I can't get it to switch between screen orientations. It's stuck in portrait, but I prefer landscape. Still goes back and forth on my old ipad one. This is annoying.

### 3/5 — We'll still use it, but...

*2013-03-13*

I got this specifically for my autistic son, because it had a visual support (the little magic wand.) Then I was disappointed to find that it was only available in the first two levels of difficulty on addition only.

Ah, well. I'm sure his little brother, the math whiz, will use it to practice multiplication and division. A great way to practice.

### 2/5 — Too Bad

*2012-01-24, version 4.5*

In the screenshots it shows groups of items for addition and subtraction drills, but is not the case for division and multiplication drills. Too bad as it is not a very useful App for visual learners or for kids who need to understand the steps to the correct answer.

DO NOT expect visual cues for multiplication and division drills, as shown in the + and - screenshots.

### 2/5 — Dissappointed

*2011-12-05, version 4.5*

If it wouldn't keep crashing, it would be a great app but now It's pretty much useless. I deleted it as it was never updated/fixed.

### 4/5 — Mom

*2011-10-16, version 4.5*

I can only find where the game gives out girl stickers, what about the boys?

### 2/5 — Some updates might make it better...

*2011-10-14*

At first I really enjoyed this app, but after a thorough evaluation I found this app to basically just be electronic math flashcards. I was also not particularly fond of the multiple choice answering system because as a teacher it would be hard to know if students know their math facts or if they were just happening to guess correctly. I think if there was a way to tweak this app a little so it wasn’t just electronic flashcards with multiple choice answers; the app would be more beneficial.

### 3/5 — wont give me a blue one! But useful.

*2011-09-11, version 4.4*

it won't give me a blue sticker which is very lame. I only use this app cause I have to but at least you can make it harder In the settings menu for this app. This is basically the same thing that I can do at school anyway. But it is useful I guess cause cause I have to do it and it works well but just not that much fun is the problem. But anyway, useful app.

### 2/5 — Great App But Needs Bug Fix

*2011-08-06, version 4.4*

This is a great app, especially when when kids are first learning their math facts. What is disappointing is that after one or two problems, the application closes down completely. We tried uninstalling it, and paid for it a second time. This did not resolve the problem.

### 2/5 — Visual mismatch

*2011-06-25*

I won't use this app with my students because on the subtraction problems there is a visual, and thus confusing, mismatch between the pictures and the mathematical concept they are supposed to be representing. For example, a problem like "9 - 6 = ?" shows 9 red apples under the number nine and then 6 green apples under the number six. I guess if you think of this as a comparison problem (how much more or less?), it works, but the kids I'm working with at this level are confused by these visuals that are there to supposedly help. I would rather see the correct number of apples "x-ed" out, or falling into a basket, or somehow being "taken away." As a teacher, I know the minus sign just doesn't mean "take away" but the developers need to think more like kids and find visuals that support, not confuse.

### 4/5 — Please fix

*2010-11-17, version 0*

It would be nice to move the tool bar to the top of the view, for kids this would stop them from accidentally changing what is being worked on. Example a child has been instructed to work on adding, then it is on multiplication.....this is hard for kids not to touch the bottom of the screen. I hope it will be changed, the app is wonderful in every other way. Thanks

### 2/5 — I don't know about this one.

*2010-11-05, version 0*

Pros: easy to use and decent controls.
Cons: way better math apps out there, no quiz/test option, clunky interface

Not a bad attempt, but in no way polished. For my $1, there's better choices.

### 3/5 — Good for kids of all ages

*2010-10-28, version 0*

All of my grands, from 5 to 15 can use this app for skill building and review. I really like that you can customize the levels.

### 5/5 — Best "math facts" app available

*2010-10-08*

I was struggling to get my 2nd grader to study her math facts. . .until I found this app. There are quite a number of apps out there that will help a child with math facts (and I tried several of them), but this is the only one that truly engaged my child. Math practice went from a chore to an afternoon highlight. I really appreciate the ability to customize the practice sessions, since the teachers tend to be very specific for what is tested from week-to-week. This app takes math facts to the next level. . .it is well worth the price! And I have also found support from Anusen to be extremely prompt and dedicated to answering my questions.

### 4/5 — Math mathic

*2010-10-04, version 0*

I love this app it is awesome!!!!! I keep on getting better and better!!!! This is the best math app ever!!!if people ask me what math app is good?? I,LL say math magic!!!!!

### 5/5 — Skill set feature is available now

*2010-09-28*

Thanks all for your feedback, comments and enhancement requests. Skill set feature is available now. Apart from predefined levels (1,2,3,4) parents can customize/tune both minimum and maximum numbers for the problem set based on your needs.

Currently we are working on feature to save the scores and make it more interesting for the kids. Please send your enhancement requests through email.

Garyvb: For your usecase of having 8 in total, you can setup the maximum number to 4. Than it would not exceed 8.

### 4/5 — Great app but a couple more features woul be nice

*2010-09-27*

My daughter is in grade 1. They are learning bonds and she is up to 8. If you limit the application to 8, it will ask questions where the result is not limited to 8 but where the numbers in the question are limited to 8. This means she is asked what 7 + 8 is equal to. A little tough for 6 year old. Still, it is a great app.

### 4/5 — Solid and fun math practice

*2010-09-16, version 0*

Good math practice program. My daughter has had fun playing it and earning flowers and ribbons as she gets correct answers. Happy that the app has been updated and improved. Much easier now to customize the difficulty of the problems. Thanks.
Would like to see a bit faster transition to the next problem after a correct answer, perhaps add an adjustable delay to settings screen.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No items, only equations?

*2011-09-21, version 4.4*

The picture in the store shows items to count with the addition equations. The current version doesn't have anything but the numerals. NO ITEMS to count. This makes the app useless for my daughter.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2011-01-16, version 3.8*

This game won't open so we haven't been able to play it. Would like a refund.

### 1/5 — Not good.

*2010-11-09, version 0*

Screwy app.

### 1/5 — Math Magic - I have wasted my money

*2010-09-15, version 0*

I downloaded this for my son as an educational app for him to play with on occasion. However, once paid for and downloaded, it stated that it would not sync with my iPhone as it is not an iPhone OS. I do not know what an iPhone OS is, but mine is a 3GS and only purchased 9 months ago.

Very disappointing and I wouldn't want other customers to waste their money like this

### 1/5 — No skill adjustment

*2010-08-26, version 0*

I bought this for my 7 year old. I'm pretty upset there is no skill adjustment. He's well beyond adding 1+5. I would have thought I would have been able to up the skill level but sadly it can't. Luckily he can still do the multiplication. Which is basic because the skill level is still very low for that.

### 1/5 — Dissatisfied

*2010-07-16, version 0*

I agreed..... Do not buy it. It was working and now it does not open.

### 1/5 — doesn't work

*2010-07-11, version 0*

This application does not work. It does not open. Do not buy it.

### 1/5 — Math Magic

*2010-04-25, version 0*

Boring!!

### 1/5 — GROSSE DOBE !

*2010-03-04*

### 1/5 — Just ok

*2009-11-13, version 0*

My son likes it but it is so limited. I downloaded a free app that lets me pick the math facts I want him to work on and also allows keyboard amswer instead of multiple choice. This would make it much better.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Sweet and simple, hugely useful

*2019-11-08*

This is one of the first apps I got years ago. It is a simple but powerful learning tool. My first child who used this is now in college. I just started using it with my 4 year old. I’m glad it is being kept up. The encouraging kids voices are adorable. This app brings a lot of smiles.

### 5/5 — Cool

*2013-06-05*

It took 5 seconds to load. It might be .99 cents, but it is TOTALLY worth it!!!!!!

### 5/5 — I played math magic on my moms phone but now that I'm nine Its a little bit boring:(

*2013-01-25*

Written by a 9 yr old

### 5/5 — Great

*2012-10-20, version 4.7*

### 5/5 — Très bien

*2011-11-24*

Une application de maths très ludique, vraiment bien pour les enfants.

### 5/5 — Good enough for my kids

*2011-11-22*

I have three kids in grades 6 and below. Math has always been a struggle in our family. My oldest one still has problems doing his multiplication. Even though the levels aren't timed, this can be used as a speed test. I do like the customization level and al around worth the $1 I paid for it.

### 5/5 — Just fine

*2011-09-22*

No real bells and whistles, so if you are looking for a game for your kids to play this is not it. But it is a very clean and easy app to practice the basics of + - x /

As for the other review about not having things on the screen to count, there's a magic wand on the side of the screen, just tap it for each screen and the "counters" will appear under the numbers. My four year old did some math today with the on screen counters.

I like the range of questions that I can specify. My kids will definitely be using this app to practice their arithmetic skills.

### 5/5 — Number work on the go

*2011-04-07, version 4.0*

FANTASTIC repetitive number work for on the go kids. You can select the level for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. It is a bit like Kumon on the go. Great stickers and rewards to incentivise child to keep going on and not giving up. Really helped my 5 year old with multiplication. My favourite maths app.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2011-02-25, version 3.9*

The app is absolutely fantastic! It features great rewards, and I love how you can change the difficulty level. Bravo!

### 5/5 — Rigolo

*2011-01-07*

Les enfants l'adore. Pour chaqu'un le niveau peut être adapté. Un moyen rigilo de réviser son maths.
