If you have a background in, say, trigonometry, and you know that a certain formula exists but can’t quite remember what it looks like, then this is a useful reference. I don’t think it is meant to be a learning tool. If you have no idea about trigonometry, for example, this won’t do you much good. This runs on a tablet but is really meant only for a phone. On my iPad everything is confined to the left-hand one-third of the screen leaving the rest of the screen blank. Maybe not a problem for most people, but I use my tablet more than my phone so that is kind of disappointing. ### 2/5 — OK, but useless for learning *2017-03-14, version 3.0.9* It's just an organized collection of formulas. If you keep encountering hard to understand mathematical concepts explained in impenetrably arcane mathematical jibber-jabber, look elsewhere. This app is for those who already have a deep understanding of mathematics. Just once, I'd like to see an app writer come up with one that lets the rest of us on board by explaining concepts in plain language, using analogies, animations or whatever else it takes to help the rest of us break through. ### 4/5 — Great tool! *2017-03-04, version 3.0.9* I'm a pre-med student and this app helps out a lot when it comes to consolidating the eq. What this app needs now is a formula editor so you can write your own theorems and handy formulas to keep them with you. Add that feature and i would gladly pay for it. ### 4/5 — A great reference app for everybody! *2014-08-24, version 2.6.5* A friend of mine recommended me to get this app, and my was this worth the investment! The developers deftly managed to condense the most essential of maths and physics into one convenient app. But, granted, I think the app needs a name change, in order for this app to not appear limiting. Before I bought this app, I thought there were only math related notes and such, but there physics things, financial doodads, pleasant surprises like the prime numbers and so much more. There are also other tidbits worth mentioning, like having a quadratic solver, a triangle solver, etc. That said, I'd like some things to be added, or at least tweaked, like e.g. In the quadratic solver, the answer are given in decimals; it'd be great if you added an option to express them in their full notation, as in 1/2 +sqrt(3)/2i. In the triangle solver, I'd recommend an option to express angles in minutes and seconds as well. Just in case, check for some spelling or context errors, because I remember I spotted one in the financial section. One last thing I want to point out is what I disliked when you guys overhauled the app for iOS 7 was that everything was 'expanded out', in the sense of that the sections were like in this opened state displaying their content. It would be less of a hassle to list the sections, and make us tap them to reveal their contents, for the sake of organizing. ### 5/5 — Great App! *2014-06-28, version 2.6.5* This app has just about every formula that a Math/Science/Computer Science student ever need! A little suspicious how long this app has been out and there are supposedly not enough reviews to calculate an average for a rating. You only need 2 numbers to make an average. Also, there are no reviews,...hmmm? If this review doesn't get posted, I will resort to blogging, along with screen shots. The table of integrals is what anyone should know after taking calculus 2. No definite integrals, very few trig identities. Worse than that, there are no hyperbolic identities. I think this says enough. If you're looking to replace Schaum's this is NOT it. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2010-09-23, version 0* This is by far one of the worse apps ever. The developer did nothing more than take a few images off a search and pasted them into this fly by night program. Entire sections like trig offer only a single very poor image. The program it self is very poorly scripted with bad interface and redundant setting with not a single bit of information that is not already aviable for free via any search engine. ### 1/5 — Erreurs *2010-08-19* En effet, je n'ai pas cherché longtemps avant de trouver une erreur. Dans la définition de la classe NP (catégorie algorithmes), le point 1 est exact (problèmes dont la solution se vérifie en temps polynomial), mais le point 2 est une confusion énorme avec la définition de la complétude. Il n'a rien à faire là. Le point 2 devrait être : "problèmes solvables en temps polynomial sur une machine non déterministe". ### 1/5 — The iPad UI is terrible *2010-05-22, version 0* First, let me say that I absolutely love this app in its iPhone form. So, I have hope that the next version will be much better. However, this update for the iPad is seriously ugly. The graphics have not been re-generated for the higher resolution screen, just up-scaled, and they look horrible. For an extreme example, take a look at the Harmonic series in Sequences and Series ... truly atrocious. The iPad version does not take advantage of the larger screen space. In some cases, the little squares on the right-hand side of the screen are obvious, but for many the content is so small that it's impossible to tell what they represent without tapping on them. Math Ref was worth a lot more than the 2 or 3 bucks I originally paid for it, and it’s only gotten better since then The developer should add a tip jar so us long-time users can continue to support them. ### 5/5 — Invaluable resource *2016-11-15, version 3.0.6* As a software engineer, I find myself using this app often as a quick reference for questions in statistics, calculus, and physics when I'm working on a variety of problems. I've been using it for about 4 years, and haven't looked back. In fact it gets better and better with updates. Always the first app I install on my iPhone. ### 5/5 — Exceptional App. Maybe my favorite! *2016-05-02, version 3.0.6* As a computer engineering student and math tutor, I find myself using this app all the time. I've recommended it to multiple friends who have also loved it. The layout is very smooth and the presentation is appealing. It's also fairly intuitive to find what I'm looking for. As to improvements, I would really really like to see a section where I can add my own equations and categorize then for easy access. If it had keyboard that allowed me to access some of the special characters such as the Greek alphabet that would be nice too. I would also like to see a slightly easier to read format on some of the equations as they tend to spill over to the new line which makes it a bit hard to read. Other than that, well done guys.
