Free only in November. This is a virtual manipulative to support developing number sence and arithmetic concepts. And if you take away a subquantity, another subquantity remains. This is called subtraction. With this virtual manipulative kids kann explore and learn the relationsships between subsets and total sets. This is how it works: Touch the screen with your fingers to produce token. You can also move these tokens with your fingers. Move the tokens out to the top to delete it. Tap on a number to sort the token. Spipe over a number to hide it or to show it again. Pull down the shutters to hide one half of the tablet. Shake the tablet to empty it. The basic operations addition and subtraction are based on the concept that a quantity can be split into subsets and you can join the subsets again (part-whole concept). If kids understood the relationsship beetween partial and total quantities, an essential cornerstone has been laid for successful mathematical learning. This virtual manipulative is an tool to explore and experience these concept. This app does not include tasks. For successfull and effective learning kids use this app to solve tasks that callange them to experiment and reflect. Here are some examples: How can I quickly produce 8 token with my fingers? How do I have to sort the tokens to see the number without counting? On one side there are 4 token, on the other side 3 token. How many token are this in total? What happens, if I move 1 (2, 3, ...) token from one side to the other? What happens, if I remove 1 (2, 3, ...) token from the tablet? How many configurations are possible to split 10 token on the two sides? On one Side of the tablet are 3 token. How many token do I have to put on the other side to have 7 token in total? On the tablet are 10 token. You can only see a part of it. How many token are hidden? I put 8 token on one side of the tablet. Then I take 5 token to the other side. Ein Blick in das Video bei youtube lohnt sich. Ich nutze die App, um Zahlzerlegungen an der digitalen Tafel zu visualisieren, quasi als riesige Schüttelbox. Denkbar wäre auch, dass zwei Kinder gemeinsam an einem Tablet arbeiten: Ein Kind stellt eine Aufgabe bzw. stellt Fragen, das andere Kind löst bzw. antwortet. Wichtig zu wissen ist, dass die App selbst keine Aufgaben stellt. Ich sehe sie daher eher in der Schule als zuhause im Einsatz. Hier kann ich je nach Thema andere Aufgaben stellen. Ich kann vorgeben „Lege drei Plättchen nach links und zwei Plättchen nach rechts“, „Verschiebe ein Plättchen von links nach rechts“ etc. und ich kann Fragen stellen wie „Wieviele Plättchen sind im linken (abgedeckten) Feld?“ oder „Welche Minusaufgaben kann ich aus den drei Zahlen bilden?“ ### 1/5 — Gut gedacht - schlecht gemacht *2022-07-12, version 1.2* Ich öffne die App, kann einmalig eine Aufgabe erstellen und Plättchen hinzufügen und das war’s. Kein „rückgängig“, keine Menüführung, keine (kurze) Erläuterung. Um eine neue Aufgabe zu erstellen muss die App geschlossen werden ?! Geht gar nicht! Sehr schade. Denn die Grundidee ist super und sollte unbedingt ausgebaut werden. ### 5/5 — Sinnvoll für Grundschulmathe intuitiv ohne Lesekompetenz *2021-12-03, version 1.2* Eine so wunderbare App, jetzt fallen nicht mehr ständig alle Wendeplättchen runter. Zumindest nicht mehr bei mir unter der Kamera. Das einzige, was ich mir wünschen würde wären auf der einen Seite rote und auf der anderen blaue Punkte, so wie bei Zerlegungshäusern. Dann wäre es noch einfacher daraus Rechenaufgaben abzuleiten. Und endlich was für Klasse 1 ohne lesen. Einfach öffnen und los geht es mit entdecken. Gerade die Einfachheit finde ich so gut. Es gibt kein Menü und so ist sie für mich eine unnütze App und die 99 Cent rausgeschmissen. ### 5/5 — Sinnvollste Matheapp für Matheförderung *2014-11-16, version 1.1* Diese App zeigt Kindern unmittelbar den Zusammenhang zwischen dem Ganzen und seinen Teilen. Dies ist die wichtigste Grundlage für das Verständnis von plus und minus, die rechenschwachen Kindern oft fehlt. Unbedingte Empfehlung für Vorschulkinder (sichere Grundlage) und Kindern mit Rechenschwäche durchaus bis zum Ende der Grundschule. (Nachholen von Grundlagen). This simple tool eliminates distractions and allows for exploration of how these simple dots can be split, grouped, and rearranged to still mean the same thing. I'm using this in conjunction with a good old-fashioned abacus (another app) and dice games to teach addition.
