My only concern is that it provides division equations that divide by zero which requires the kids to type in zero for an answer, which is incorrect. I realize it would be prohibitive to have "undefined" as answer but maybe just don't give those problems? You can choose the level of difficulty and it keeps a child on their toes. I love that my daughter has been challenged by the levels and she likes it too! What's more is the lack of violence everyone is terrified to show their children. The zombies turn back into people once you have solved their math problems. Great game! The updated version includes a much needed difficulty setting which can get intense on hard....I may or may not have had a few close calls:/ Also the aesthetic redesign does reduce gun violence which my eighth grader was bummed about, but now includes boss battles....so bonus! My first grader loved using the previous version for practicing basic addition but with this version, it is too difficult. The first level starts with 2-digit addition! That shouldn't be a beginner level. I'm extremely disappointed & hope they change it back soon. ### 2/5 — Game dev's need to check their own math. *2014-12-24, version 3.5* On two separate instances in The Addition of Evil the correct answer was provided but graded as incorrect. This is very disappointing as it is a paid game. I also disagree with the method of submitting answers to stop the zombies. Larger addition problems should be worked out from the last numbers to the first, but in the game kids only have the option to submit full answers. This is difficult because they can get lost. The boss battles are grueling and much too difficult. ### 2/5 — Yet Another Glorified Flashcard Game *2013-03-04, version 1.8* I don't need a $200 device to practice flashcards. The strength of technology and learning is it can teach you WHY addition and subtraction work, and HOW, and WHEN to use them. I'm so frustrated with these math apps that are just glorified flash cards. Fun, funny, with just enough suspense that she forgets she's learning. Big thumbs up on the graduated difficulty levels, would suggest a 'random' mode that mixes all 4 categories. Will gladly upgrade to a 5 star rating once the bugs are fixed, it's stupidly hard to find a fun math game that will keep kids engaged. I’m here for nostalgia. My kindergarten teacher always made us play this but I didn’t care. This game was my favorite. Ever since I found this game on an iPad in my second grade classroom in 2013, here's the story. Because it was math time I got on an iPad and looked for a math game. Then I saw a game with picture of a zombie on it. By the I was playing the OLD version where in the settings you could pick the difficulty and there were only 7 levels per world, one boss per world, and four worlds. I played it, and liked it! I played in third grade and introduced it to my friends. One of my friends started playing it and 5 minutes later he was done with the first world. I would like to thank Tap to Learn for getting me through all these years. Sometimes I forget the times and I lose but when I do it again I learn it and know more. At the end of my day I love to tell my mom I learned some of my times. I love this app and every one should have it and learn more than they know and feel good at the end of the day.
