## Newest reviews (13 of 49)

### 2/5 — Kind of awful.

*2018-10-19, version 24.0*

Are you serious? I keep having to reinstall this app when things in one of my documents go everywhere on the screen.

### 1/5 — Not very good is it?!

*2016-12-04, version 21.0*

Probably the most unintuitive app I have downloaded. Doesn't let you do anything with ease or indeed anything worthwhile at all.

### 1/5 — Kostet Nichts aber kann auch Nichts

*2016-08-29*

Dieses Programm leistet überhaupt nichts in dieser Version und ist derartig Benutzerunfreundlich und sinnlos, dass ich mir den Kauf dieser App ersparte.

### 2/5 — Can't export without paying up.

*2015-01-08*

If the developers want to charge for saving "MultiDocs" they can-- but exporting should be standard. Unfortunately if I want to clip my notes to another app I need to buy the "MultiDocs". MultiDocs is marketed as a "module" but the app is useless without it. This isn't a "free" version, it's a trial in disguise. And maybe that could be forgiven if the app wasn't ugly, slow, confusing and crash-ridden. Of particular note is the use of weird icons. Is that the share icon? I dunno, looks like the old iOS 6 one… kinda? What does the folder icon do? Dunno, I need "MultiDocs". You have to toggle between two keyboards and the backspace doesn't go back and… ugh.

### 1/5 — Needs Manual !!!!

*2014-04-19*

I downloaded this app and after playing with it, watching the less than 1 minute tutorials multiple times, and reading the "how to use notes" multiple times, over the course of almost two hours; I could not enter the simplest of expressions using the app. There is no way I would pay anything for this app. I am certain that once you figure out how to navigate the app, after how many hours I can only imagine, you might be able to enter 2 + 2. This app needs better user instruction, without them it is a pure waste of my time and energy. I am better off with pencil, paper, and a scanner to communicate my ideas and equations.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2014-04-09, version 4.3*

Not intuitive to use. Not at all useful as assistive tech for elementary student.

### 1/5 — No keyboard

*2014-02-07*

Just installed and tried it out or tried to. Never showed me a keyboard, just a pop up to buy it. If I can't try it out, I'm not going to buy it.

Uninstalling it now....

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2013-09-03*

I don't ordinarily write reviews of apps, but this app aggravated me so much I needed to warn others.

I am a math teacher and rather tech savy, I usually use tablet PCs but this year am experimenting with the iPad as an instructional vehicle.

I downloaded this app to whip up equations to import into notability for my class. I was unsuccessful in doing anything productive for approximately 20 minutes.

The documentation is insufficient, and the interface is not intuitive or functional as far as I can tell.

I brought up the special "math" keyboard and was utterly dumbfounded as to why it was so poorly done. I couldn't create a simple equation that included an exponent without having to constantly tap and fidget with the awkward interface of this app.

I had hoped for something like math-type but got something completely non-useful. I'd avoid it if I were you.

### 1/5 — mise àjour

*2013-05-12*

la mise à jour ne s'exécute pas

### 1/5 — Awful...

*2013-03-08, version 2.04*

App won't even allow you to write standard double-angle notation (i.e., cos^2(x), etc.).

### 2/5 — Clunky

*2013-03-06, version 2.04*

It looks like there are a ton of cool uses, but it's too hard to manipulate them for my class.

### 2/5 — Shows promise.

*2012-10-28, version 1.8*

The idea is good, but the functionality is terrible. I tried typing out the Cosine rule as a test, but the ^2 button inserts a squared sign after the cursor point, and there is no way to move forward or backward through text, so I got stuck immediately. What's more, once something is typed, it's completely unchangeable. Make a mistake? Start a new document.
It really is a good concept. A Maths typing app would be incredibly useful for school students, university students, and anyone who ever needs to use difficult maths in their job. But in its current state, it is completely unusable. Please update.

### 2/5 — Nicht zu gebrauchen, aber .... Nö!

*2012-10-25*

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2026-04-15*

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-12-19*

The developers set this up to pay first and try but the App does not work on my iPad. I cannot create a new sheet in either orientation. They advised to quit and retry which I did. I then uninstalled the App and tried again. It’s useless and not worth 50-cents let alone the $29 for an annual subscription. They get one star because I could not post at ZERO stars.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2025-03-24*

Didn't let me make a new document

**Developer response:** Thank you for your interest in the MathPad app. The FREE VERSION allows to: • Create documents with one page • Open and edit documents shared by other MathPad users • Open and edit documents created during any active subscription periods • Import documents from the ZurApps Vault using a private key • Use the app features in the Share menu by watching reward video ads.

To create NEW documents you will need to use the PAID version of MathPad.

### 1/5 — What happened

*2025-01-03*

Horrible , bring the original version back.

**Developer response:** Please contact Apple Support to restore previous versions of the app (previous versions available are 26.5, 25.1, 22.2, 21.4, 20.3, 11.4, 10.1, 4.13 and 3.4). If we can be of any further assistance, please reach out to us at: email@zurapps.com.

### 1/5 — Fonctionne pas

*2024-01-24*

Incapable d’ouvrir un nouveau dossier pour commencer.

**Developer response:** For MathPad support inquires, please send details to email@zurapps.com, including screenshots.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2021-08-24, version 26.8*

I tried to import a Mathpad.mp from version 2.6.5, no go. Couldn't even copy/paste.

Tried to type formulas - would not recognize my add on Apple keyboard on iPad.

Typing by selecting characters from a list is slower than carving on a stone tablet and about as primitive.

Version 2.6.5 is powerful and very useable. This version (26 something) is useless.

Deleted app.
0 stars if I could.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2020-11-28, version 26.6*

In response to the developer: I am happy to send you a screen recording showing you that they keyboard will not appear automatically nor that the document will fill the screen.Hopefully you can work out the bugs as this looks like great software idea. Original Review: No keyboard and too small for an iPad Pro 12”. Don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — Ads blocks entry keyboard

*2020-02-08*

Last 2 rows of keyboard is blocked by ads and not usable. Is this by design?

**Developer response:** Thank you for your comment. The advertisement does not block any essential buttons, only the quick buttons, and because the keyboard is scrollable you still have access to the most crucial features and functions. If you do not want to experience ads while using the app, you can purchase the one-month subscription of MathPad, and cancel at any time. Please send us an email to emails@zurapps.com if you have any other issues, and we will try to assist you.

### 1/5 — Benutzerunfreundlich ist gar kein Ausdruck

*2018-05-11*

Wer entwirft bitte ein derart Nutzer unfreundliches Programm?! Bloß kein Geld dafür ausgeben!!!

### 1/5 — Warning! Subscription based product!

*2017-09-20, version 22.2*

I got this and noted the “in app purchases” I didn’t see any mention of a subscription.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The app is pretty good

*2023-09-22*

It allows you to rapidly creat math formulas and edit it later if needed.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience; we are happy to hear that MathPad is meeting and exceeding your needs.

### 5/5 — Matrices

*2015-10-21*

I've been trying to find an app that would let me write Matrices! Found it!

### 5/5 — New tutorial is well done

*2014-07-18*

The new video tutorial is a well done, comprehensive help that provides good direction for understanding of how to use/drive the app...

### 5/5 — Great concept!

*2012-03-04*

This is a great concept, especially for kids with disgraphia. I'd like to see it do more stuff specifically for elementary and middle school math like mixed fractions, spaces and semicolons in the math notation. I have some challenges using drag and drop and consistency of selecting and editing formulas, but the concept is great.

### 5/5 — Very nice piece of programming

*2011-11-06, version 1.0*

Brilliant.

### 4/5 — Pretty good!

*2021-12-30*

Some of the buttons could be more responsive, and I would appreciate an “there exists” and “for all” symbol, but overall this works pretty well!

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave us this comment, as well as for your suggestions. We will take them into consideration for future versions.

### 4/5 — Good

*2013-08-27, version 3.3*

It Is a bit confusing

### 4/5 — Hmm...

*2012-08-24*

It's good once you figure out how to use it, but I'm having problems resizing/rearranging equations below the point where you have to scroll down from the top... Every time I try, the app freezes for a minute, and when it unfreezes, nothing happens.

### 4/5 — Useful

*2011-12-18*

How about indices? I don't find them.

### 3/5 — Review

*2013-02-07, version 2.03*

Please put retina support in apart from that its perfect
