## What is Matinee?

Matinee is a journal for the films you watch. Log what you saw, where you saw it, and what it did to you — and get back a ticket stub, printed and dated, that stacks up into a year of moviegoing.

It is deliberately quiet. No feed, no follower count, no algorithm deciding what you should have watched. Just your own record, kept well.

EVERY FILM GETS A TICKET
Log a film and Matinee prints it: the house, the feature, the date, your score, and a line of what you thought. Tickets shelve themselves by month, or by the cinema you sat in, or onto a map of everywhere you've watched from.

ONLY THE FILM IS REQUIRED
The date defaults to today. Venue, score and notes are optional and can be added weeks later, when you finally know what you think. Scores run 0 to 10 in half points, and zero is a real score, not a blank.

ROOM TO ACTUALLY WRITE
The editor is a page, not a form — a poster overhead and space to write as much or as little as you like.

A WATCHLIST THAT REMEMBERS
Keep the films you mean to see. Log one and it stays on the list wearing a WATCHED banner rather than vanishing, so the list is a record too.

WATCH TOGETHER
Add a friend by showing them your season pass, and tag them on a film you saw together. The screening copies into their journal, and you each score it and write about it separately — their words never overwrite yours. Both tickets show who was there. Shared lists work the same way: everyone adds, and everyone's admit gets punched as they see things.

YOURS
Matinee shows nothing publicly, has no advertising, and does not track you. It never asks for your location. You can use it without an account at all; signing in only keeps your journal when you change phones, and lets you share with a friend. Delete your account from inside the app whenever you like, and everything of yours goes with it.

Film data and posters come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
