MattCha is a native Mattermost chat client for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that connects to the server you choose. Sign in to your Mattermost server and keep up with team conversations in channels, direct messages, and threads. MattCha focuses on a clean SwiftUI experience with native navigation, unread counts, message search, reactions, attachments, voice recordings, Markdown rendering, and local caching for recently viewed workspace content. Timelines appear fully settled, reducing blank panes, flicker, text reflow, and unexpected scroll movement. Composer drafts and inline images keep a more stable layout, while expanding a long message preserves your reading position. Threads now stay correctly marked as read when new replies arrive while you’re viewing the latest message. Reactions, edits, pins, and posts from integrations also update more reliably without unnecessarily reshuffling or duplicating messages. Sending attachments is now more reliable when switching conversations during an active upload, without showing a misleading retry draft. Channel badges now reflect unread messages in that channel, while followed-thread replies remain in Threads. This update includes further performance and reliability improvements for busy timelines, Markdown rendering, and app resume. ### 1.1.8 — 2026-08-07 Catch up faster with the redesigned Unread view. Switching between All and Unread now filters the channel list, the current channel’s messages, and the thread inbox together. The thread inbox has moved from a prominent sidebar entry to a compact header button, and you can now mark individual messages as unread or mark everything as read. Long channel messages now stay compact at about seven lines, making busy timelines much easier to scan. Choose Show More to reveal the complete message and mark it as read. If you prefer the previous behavior, turn off “Collapse long channel messages” in Settings. Messages inside threads always remain fully expanded. Message search now has a dedicated screen with support for Mattermost search modifiers. New system integrations include channel search through Spotlight, useful Shortcuts, drag-and-drop attachments, and Handoff for continuing the current channel or thread on another Apple device. This release also improves channel switching and startup performance, server-synced drafts where supported, cross-device read state, mention and unread badges, the New Messages divider, connection recovery, accessibility and voice feedback, and message-send reliability—including protection against duplicate posts during retries. Special thanks to Matvey for suggesting the new long-message display! ### 1.1.7 — 2026-07-31 This update makes conversations smoother and more reliable. The jump-to-latest button now works correctly even while scrolling or loading older messages, and closing a thread on iPhone now returns you to the channel instead of the sidebar. We also improved third-party keyboard behavior, thread history and unread updates, attachment recovery, draft restoration, and reliability during connection interruptions. Long conversations use less memory, and changing the chat text size now updates all message formatting correctly, including headings. ### 1.1.5 — 2026-07-22 Attachment previews are now smoother and no longer flicker as chats update. Thread views make better use of the available space, especially on iPad and in landscape, with clearer loading and unavailable-thread feedback.
