### 4/5 — Game-Changer for Half Marathon Training and Recovery

*2026-08-31*

I’m loving this app so far. As a half marathon trainee coming from a strength sports background, I was underfueling without realizing it. This app completely changed that. The personalized nutrition targets based on my actual training are a huge win. I now have clear, moving goals to hit each week instead of guessing.

The recovery insights have been transformative. I went from a protein-focused, lower-carb approach to properly fueling for endurance training. Having the app dynamically adjust my targets keeps me accountable and makes meal planning so much easier.

Highly recommend if you’re serious about optimizing your performance and recovery.

### 4/5 — Logging issues

*2026-07-24*

I have been trying this app for the past couple of days but

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, and sorry for the frustration here. That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have. Logging should work without any issues, so something clearly went wrong. I’d really like to help you get this sorted quickly. Could you reach out to me directly at bradley@mavr.app? If you can share what you were trying to log, along with your device and iOS version, I’ll look into it right away. Appreciate you flagging this.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-07-18*

I tried using different apps to know what to eat for my marathon training, however none seemed user friendly when it comes to adding what you eat. Mavr seems to have what other apps are missing, and calories/macro recs are pretty close in comparison. Also, customer service is incredible. I’m highly impressed and will continue to use Mavr for my fueling!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the kind words! We built Mavr to make fueling for training easier without making food logging feel like a chore, so it’s great to hear that the experience and recommendations are working well for you. We really appreciate your support, and we're excited to be part of your marathon journey!

### 2/5 — Has potential

*2026-01-26*

This app is glitchy, and currently not usable without pro even though it seems like pro should be unlocking extra features. I like the idea, the suggestions seemed solid during my free trial but the subscription is too expensive for something in beta and it’s difficult to give feedback.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I’m really sorry you ran into these issues. We’re working hard on improvements and several fixes are already included in the latest version.

If you still notice anything that isn’t working as expected, I’d love to help you personally. You can reach me directly at bradley@mavr.app and I’ll make sure we look into it together and get it resolved.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.14.1 — 2026-09-07

Improvements:
- New Frequent tab when adding food: the foods you log most, most used first.
- Search now puts the foods you actually log at the top.
- Tap a food in your diary to edit it right there — amount, meal and nutrition in the same card you logged it from.
- Save a food to your Favorites with the star on its diary row.
- Copy or move a logged food to another day, not just another meal.
- Add screenshots to your feedback, and see them in the reply thread.
- New explainer on the Live energy card: what the score means, where you are right now, and what moves it.
- Asking the coach for a new recipe now goes straight to the recipe questions.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed completed workouts being read at the wrong time of day, which pushed recovery meals into the evening.
- Fixed the coach losing your diet preferences, meal plan and food log, so its answers ignored what you had eaten.
- Fixed a food failing to save as a favorite when it had been a favorite before.
- Fixed food rows showing through the "Recently added" heading while you scrolled.
- Fixed picker wheels jumping while you scrolled them, and a slow turn not registering.

### 1.14.0 — 2026-09-03

Improvements:
- Barcode scanning is instant now: the product appears as a card right on the camera, you set the portion and log it without leaving the scanner, then scan the next one.
- Barcode not in the database? Link it to a food you already know, and every scan after that finds it.
- Recipes now hold preparation steps, and you can add your own notes to recipes and custom foods.
- Tap a logged recipe in your diary to open the full recipe again.
- Fuel kits: scan products straight into a kit, add your own homemade fuel, rename items, and set the serving you actually take.
- Adding fuel to a kit now opens a full search screen with your recently used products.
- Quick calories can carry a short note, so you remember what it was.
- The coach shows the foods it logs as cards you can favorite, and "log this on my pre-bed snack" lands on the meal card you named.
- A new Evening Top-Up card catches the calories no other meal can hold.
- Fat targets now have a hard ceiling, so the extra calories from hard training go to carbs.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed food logged on a skipped or completed meal not counting against the day, which left too many calories for the rest of it.
- Fixed a food being counted on two meal cards at once, and the coach and the app disagreeing about which meal a food belonged to.
- Fixed meal cards adding up to more than your daily goal.
- Fixed core meals being squeezed into portions too small to eat.
- Fixed the amount resetting when you switch the portion unit; it now converts instead.
- Fixed the keyboard covering the unit menu while editing a portion.
- Fixed the coach talking about the wrong time of day.

### 1.13.6 — 2026-08-26

Improvements:
- Choose how you eat before training: always fuel, or stay fasted for easy and short sessions — with your own time thresholds for hard and long sessions, and a per-workout override. Races always keep a pre-race meal.
- Copy or move a logged food to another meal.
- Redesigned food cards and a clearer portion editor, with quick unit switching.
- Each macro now has its own colour on meal and food cards.
- Fuel kit items now show calories next to the carbs.
- Tell the coach what you ate — "I ate a banana" is logged straight to your diary.
- Past days now stay as they were: planning or syncing workouts later no longer rewrites finished days.
- Clearer choices when removing a synced workout: keep it hidden, or let it come back on the next sync.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed duplicate workouts when Apple Health mirrored a session already synced from Garmin or TrainingPeaks.
- Fixed Garmin walks marking a planned strength workout as completed.
- Fixed calorie estimates that were far too high for planned strength, swim and walking workouts.
- Fixed meals shuffling wrongly: a workout synced after the fact rewrote earlier meals, the afternoon snack landed before lunch, and dinner could fall in the middle of a session.
- Fixed custom food edits losing the last field you typed; calories now calculate automatically from the macros.
- Fixed a meal completed without logging anything keeping its calories instead of freeing them for the rest of the day.
- Fixed widget buttons and lock-screen shortcuts not responding, and widget macro bars showing the wrong length.
- Fixed brand names missing when re-logging recent foods.

### 1.13.5 — 2026-08-19

Improvements:
- Feedback now gets an answer: send an idea or a bug and the MAVR team replies to you inside the app, with the status of every request and a notification when we've written back.
- Workout calorie estimates now calibrate to you — MAVR compares each estimate against what your watch recorded and tunes future ones to your own numbers, with more realistic baselines for strength, walking, HIIT and swimming.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed Garmin workouts being credited with too many calories, and Garmin syncs overwriting the calories Apple Health had already recorded for the same session.
- Fixed gym sessions, walks and other non-running activities being counted like a run, which pushed daily targets too high.
- Fixed a workout's calories jumping upward after it finished when the recorded time included stops and breaks.

### 1.13.4 — 2026-08-17

Improvements:
- Your logged meals now write straight into Apple Health — calories, macros, fiber and fluid.
- Water you log in Apple Health comes back into your MAVR hydration.
- The plus button now fans out to barcode, photo, describe and search, with the meal already picked so every log lands in the right place.
- Photo meals can be reweighed and renamed before you log them.
- Edit or remove a workout without leaving the workout screen.
- Settings reorganized: primary sport, units, time format and language all in one place.
- New permissions screen for notifications, location and Apple Health.
- Integrations now use a sync window picker, with disconnect actions grouped at the bottom of the sheet.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed foods that only list energy in kilojoules being logged with zero calories.
- Fixed re-logged gram portions and photo meals being saved with inflated calories.
- Fixed the error when changing the portion of a photo-logged meal.
- Fixed a saved photo meal reopening at the wrong amount and growing with every edit.
- Fixed daily targets dropping to a lower training level on Mondays for athletes whose workouts only sync in after they finish.
- Fixed fueling using the planned duration instead of the time you actually trained.
- Fixed menus needing an extra tap right after opening the app.
