## Most critical reviews (6 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Always offline

*2026-05-31*

We wanted to love the Max Cloud app as a companion for our max gate openers (which are great). However lately the max cloud just can't seem to stay online. Every week or so our gates all are offline until someone reboots a server somewhere or something.

### 2/5 — Night Mode

*2024-03-30*

Need a night mode. Dangerously bright at night.

### 3/5 — Works well when it works

*2026-05-07*

Have used this app regularly for years and it has worked great. Would love better support for the app to help diagnose problems when they come and find a solution.

### 3/5 — Needs CarPlay compatibility

*2026-01-20*

The app works fine, but it’s difficult to use while driving due to the very small font and multiple taps required. It desperately needs CarPlay compatibility..

### 3/5 — Great gates, app UI needs love

*2026-01-13*

This app does an excellent job at the most important thing it’s designed for: remote gate control. I love the fact that I can open our gate from anywhere in the world directly from my smartphone. That level of access and reliability is genuinely useful and gives real peace of mind.

That said, the user experience is far more cumbersome than it needs to be, and it leads to daily frustration. For example, the activity log only shows a user number rather than the actual person who used the gate. In real life, that information isn’t very helpful at all and defeats the purpose of tracking access.

The biggest issue, however, is how many unnecessary steps it takes just to open a single gate. When you only have one gate, there is absolutely no reason the app shouldn’t open directly to the control screen. Instead, you have to open the app, wait for it to load, select the gate, wait again, and then finally press the open button. If you’re driving and trying to time the gate opening, this feels slow and overly complicated.

pp opens to. These are simple quality-of-life improvements that would make a huge difference.

The core functionality is solid, but the app desperately needs usability improvements to match how people actually use it day to day.

### 4/5 — Good gate access, small improvements please

*2024-05-09*

Love it and it’s easy to work. I’d love to see two improvements.

1) on the event log, put who it was in addition to their code #. That would be easy to do.
2) directions. It would be nice for more directions. I don’t understand timers and can’t find any directions on how to best use them. Even looked for you tube videos and on the website and nothing.

Thanks! We really like our gate and the motors. They’re butter smooth and nice.
