The radar is a still-frame snapshot, not live. The temps and weather predictions are nothing that you don’t already have on your Android or iPhone home apps. Worst of all this thing is riddled with advertising and annoying pop-ups. ### 1/5 — iPad OS is only portrait, no landscape *2022-09-19, version 6.8.1* Seriously? Do you think iPads are just big phones? We have to turn full sized iPads sideways just to see your weather app. While I don’t particularly like the iPhone version, this app is unusable on the iPad. I used this daily for weather updates and now I’m removing it from my device. Thing is, I’ll probably never know if you fix it because I won’t load it again just to find out. ### 1/5 — 6.8.1 cheap looking background *2022-09-16, version 6.8.1* The app it self is very helpful but who ever decided to go with the CHEAP looking background needs to have a walk about moment and do some soul searching. :-). ### 2/5 — Not working properly since updated. *2022-05-18, version 6.7.2* Since the last update I have not been able to open the app. I had to delete it and I’m going to try it one more time. ### 1/5 — Sooo many ads. *2021-08-26, version 6.7.0* This is supposed to be a weather app. Not Facebook. Trying to use and view any of the pages and I’m bombarded with scrolling ads, pop up ads and then cut aways to ads for games. Way to frustrating to sift through when I need my weather. In fact, I’ve downloaded the Fox weather app and am currently using that one. Half the time it doesn’t open up, the other half it lags so bad. I don’t even use it half the time anymore. Please fix it ### 1/5 — Radar Crashes on ipad & iphone *2020-09-13, version 6.4.0* Crashes 100% of the time on the ipad and 80% of the time on the iphone. Also, the 24 hr radar moves lightning fast—deliberate pun. Too quickly and I cannot find a way to control the speed. If I drag it, it crashes. I am using the latest software updates. Frustrating. I especially liked it for the earthquake layers and just for the world map. It was more handy than Google maps for looking for roads and towns. Now, suddenly it won’t even open. I deleted it and am having trouble finding its equal. I used to love this app, but the new version is dreadful. Now it goes into an infinite state of loading data, which it never stops. For this to come from a local station makes it even worse. The radar lookalike it’s from 1997 and the app itself is so hard to navigate. I’m using an app from the panhandle that gives me a more accurate weather forecast than this garbage here. Do not download this useless weather app. ### 1/5 — Stop non safety notifications! *2025-12-01, version 6.9.0* The app changed to include notifications for live news. I only want safety notifications so I’m deleting the app. Even though you have great radar and lightning alerts, it’s not worth getting too many non important notifications! ### 1/5 — Accuracy is the worst *2025-09-24, version 6.9.0* On a daily basis they miss the high temp by 6-8 degrees to the hot side compared to Weather Channel and other local stations. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2024-09-13, version 6.9.0* We just moved to the Tampa area. This app was recommended to follow the local weather. It looks and acts like a preschooler developed it. Downloaded twice and deleted . ### 1/5 — Giant Step Backwards *2022-12-29, version 6.8.1* This app used to be good and I used it several times a day. With this current version it not only looks retro to a fault, it doesn’t orient itself to landscape mode, making it useless on my tablet. Go back to the old version and I’ll come back. ### 1/5 — iPad no auto rotation to screen orientation *2022-11-11, version 6.8.1* The app used to auto rotate to screen orientation which was great for those using an iPad with a stand. Having to remove the iPad and change orientation is just not convent for normal usage. ### 1/5 — Don’t count on them in an emergency *2022-09-29, version 6.8.1* This app is horrible. If you lost power and need updates in a hurricane, well you can find out about window vendors, or Experian, or any number of ads on this app. But actual news you need, live feeds of what is happening… Forget it! This app stinks. They say they are on your side. They are not. They give preference to advertisers and rich people who have internet connection somehow during a hurricane. The rest of us… not so much! They advertise “oh you can count on us in a storm.” What I can count on is a lot of advertisements and no live feeds when I’m in danger. I’ll pass. ### 1/5 — Terrible app. *2022-09-25, version 6.8.1* Trying to watch hurricane coverage. Unable to because it is dominated by a roofing company commercial. I hit the x and it ignores me. Much better app available. I would rate below a 1 if able. ### 1/5 — App update ruined this Max Defender 8 *2022-09-25, version 6.8.1* This was my go to app for weather everyday! Recent update will not allow the app to rotate to horizontal view on my Ipad Pro. Since I have a keyboard cover, the vertical view is unusable. Format changes were NOT an upgrade as well! I LOVE this app and Newschannel 8 ### 5/5 — Confused by bad reviews *2021-07-12, version 6.7.0* I have an older iPhone 8 Plus and the app and radar has worked flawless. I haven’t had a single crash and it’s very accurate. I used the Weather Channels app for years but it isn’t accurate, I could be in the middle of a thunderstorm and the radar would show clear skies and not a cloud within miles. This app as of July 2021 is dead on with clouds and rain radar, I love it and almost didn’t download it from the bad reviews, maybe people have old phones or bad internet. ### 5/5 — Like the app *2019-11-05, version 6.3.4* Has a lot of bugs needs to be fixed like right now has no towns or city’s listed on the map been having problems with it for sometime now ### 5/5 — Latest version works great! *2018-10-31, version 5.0.5* I don’t get the ratings, I use this on an iPhone and have no problems. When one lives in the lightning capital, this is an invaluable tool to help keep you and your loved ones safe. Always 100% accurate. ### 4/5 — Great Radar - fix your alerts *2026-01-01, version 6.9.0* Living in Tampa and enjoying outdoor water sports, I rely on this app’s radar including lightning strikes. It’s fantastic — better even than Apple’s weather app’s radar or Weather.com’s. It even has alerts when lightning is approaching the area. Up until now, the radar and alerts have been the best part of the app. Unfortunately, someone higher up that clearly doesn’t use their own app decided weather alerts should include when the weather girl is live. I. Don’t. Care. That’s not a weather alert. I’m so tired of seeing this alert multiple times per day, I’m sorely tempted to delete the app. Regarding the other reviews’ complaints of ads — there’s one you can immediately click out of when you first open the app — not an issue. ### 2/5 — App not working correctly *2025-08-17, version 6.9.0* The app crashes every time I click on the radar map. I do not get all the reading of current temperatures and feels like temperature.
