Being that we provide the product internally I can easily get assistance, however, ever since iOS 26 this app has been absolutely awful. While audio remains fine, if music is playing and I dial out, the music will start again while making call; this doesn’t occur on inbound calls. In addition, lately speaker shuts off automatically for no apparent reason. If the dialogue box is open and I keep it up the speaker will stay on. If speaker is launched from a locked phone when call comes in there are no issues unless phone needs to be unlocked. Another issue is related to the speaker issue that then causes the mic recording light to stay on, or the mic in the Dynamic Island. If these particular issues could be resolved app could go back to 5 stars but at current it is quite atrocious. ### 4/5 — Great app but no text *2025-11-06, version V3.21.60* I love the app for the call and what it does. I notice constantly on the latest iOS that even after a call finishes the microphone is still active until I force the app closed. Users should beware that it may be listening to you and those around you. Can make calls all day without issues. But you cannot answer any incoming calls. Any attempt to answer an incoming call sends the caller straight to voicemail. I have confirmed this on 3 other new iPhone 15’s in our company. Update: updated to newest version with no changes. Now I have a new phone and it’s dropping calls continuously. My works IT is telling me I likely just need to wait. Settings on my phone or within the portal don’t affect it so I’m very frustrated with the obnoxious loudness and tone. Even our account team meets with us on Teams instead of accession meeting (which by itself is a decent meeting app, few complaints there!) It’s a pity because every other part of the Metaswitch has been rock solid and great to work with, albeit expensive. ### 2/5 — Chat doesn’t sync correctly. *2023-03-31, version 3.11.12* For an app supporting business, the chat is so unreliable it’s useless. SMS is more reliable! Constantly disconnects from server, does not sync historical chats, many missing chats. Use slack or teams instead. ### 1/5 — Unable to log in *2023-03-09, version 3.10.23* Kicks me out and won’t let me log in ### 4/5 — Fix for ‘Failed to connect’ *2023-01-23, version 3.10.12* So we always avoided using this app because of an annoying issue with it spitting a notification at you every hour that said ‘fail to connect’. It would go off and there was nothing you could do to fix it. While on a phone with a Cogeco rep, he said he noticed our refresh rate was set for the max uc for the equivalent seconds of 60mins or so. He said we just find that really annoying and changed it to 7days! I have tested it for 3 days now and it hasn’t done it once! Hope this may help some of you by fixing this with a technician. Very irritating when using it for my job. Every time I swipe to answer my phone the call is declined but also continues to ring at the same time. Sometimes it “answers” but there’s no audio and the phone continues to ring. I’ve deleted it, logged out, reported problems and sent diagnostics to no avail. They ring and say declined with I hit the answer button or it will say error answering call. As a remote employee, this is my only way of receiving company calls without giving clients my personal cell number so it’s quite frustrating for my clients that I can only call them back. Outgoing calls haven’t been an issue. I tried removing the app and redownloading, I’ve been through every app and apple setting. I can see everyone’s extension, 4 digit dial them AND call from the app to have it look like I am calling from the office. Amazing ### 5/5 — Great App *2021-10-06, version 2.34.14* Max UC is a solid app. Most of the issues people have with it are related to their internet or their service provider. As someone who works for an ISP and uses MAX UC for all work calls I have found it very effective. Metaswitch is good about fixing bugs if you submit a report to your telecom provider and a bug report within the app. For internet issues ping 1.1.1.1 -t in CMD or ping plotter on Windows or MTR/ping on Linux. Any dropped packets or major latency/jitter will cause issues with MAX UC that or the fault of the internet and not the app. All in all I think it is a great client. ### 5/5 — Best Unified Communications App out there! *2020-09-04* The Max UC is nice in that the app is pretty much the same on a laptop or cell or tablet. Chat and presence shows up across all three and are update simultaneously. I can change devices mid chat. The presence ties into Outlook calendar so I see if coworkers are in meetings or on a call or available. Probably what I’d like the best what I call the Call Pull feature. If I’m on my desk phone or PC, the app on my cell knows it and gives me a blue bar that I can touch and pull the call off the desk phone on to the app on my cell. I can then walk around the office get something I need then walk back to my desk and “switch” the call back to my desk phones. Probably the next best feature is an ability to “switch” the call to a direct cellular call. If I’m on the app on my cell phone and I run out of good Wi-Fi or get in my car it will switch over to 4G seamlessly. But I live in some foothills and the cellular data coverage can be can be spotty. The switch feature allows me to make the call come from provider to my cell phone as a standard call and move off a voice over IP. Brilliant! The Integrated meeting feature is pretty cool as well. Being able to uplift a voice call to a meeting with video and desktop sharing is really convenient. I’ve even done this from the cell phone app. I’m used in a number of apps and clients that are just so clunky I don’t really deliver. Works on the London underground too. I can also receive calls on my office number when I'm out of the office. The ability to jump calls between my registered clients and my cell service is incredibly useful.
