## What is Max Workout?

Max Workout is great for:
→ Getting the most exercise in the least time.
→ Guiding you effortlessly through even the most complex interval workouts: Zone 2, HIIT, reHIT, Vo2 Max.
→ Providing the largest variety of guided interval workouts of any app in the universe.
→ Offering workouts for all aspects of a long and healthy life: Strength, Cardio, Meditation, Breathwork, and Stretching.
→ Helping you create weekly workout routines that meet your goals and fit within any schedule. Even if you only have a minute a day.

The New Efficiency Rules

For every 1 minute of vigorous exercise (like jogging), you would need the following amounts of moderate activity to achieve the same health benefits:

→ 4 minutes to reduce all-cause mortality
→ 8 minutes to reduce cardiovascular-related mortality
→ 10 minutes to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes

The great news? Max Workout is your best VO2 Max friend. Dozens of workouts help you with your high-intensity workout. And when you don't want to work out harder, Max Workout has dozens of Zone 2 workouts, so you work out smarter.

Stop Wondering What Workout To Do

Most people know exercise is important. The hard part is knowing what to do.

→ Should today be easy or hard?
→ How much cardio should you do?
→ How often should you train?
→ Are you making progress—or just getting tired?

Max Workout answers those questions for you.

Create a personalized workout plan in minutes. Then open the app each day and get a recommendation for exactly what workout to do next.

→ No guesswork.
→ No spreadsheets.
→ No exercise science degree required.

Just press Start.

Your Personal Workout Coach

→ Personalized Workout Plans (Two Ways)

Answer a few questions and Max Workout builds a training plan tailored to your goals, schedule, and fitness level. Whether you have 10 minutes or an hour, it makes the most of the time you've got. You can let an AI create your schedule or let the wisdom of experience be your guide. In both cases you can edit the schedule to make it your own.

→ One Tap Workout

Not sure what to do today? Tap a button and Max Workout recommends the next workout in your plan.

→ AI Suggested Workout

Feel like something different? Tell the AI how you feel, and let it pick something for you. Will you like it? That is the question.

→ Guided Coaching

Voice prompts guide you through every workout so you always know when to start, stop, recover, and push harder.

→Train Smarter

Behind the scenes, Max Workout follows a polarized 80/20 structure—mostly easy aerobic work, a little hard intervals, plus strength and recovery. It's the approach backed by decades of research for training as you age. You don't need to understand it. The app already does.

→ Everything You Need In One App

• HIIT & reHIT Workouts

### 5/5 — Developer went out of his way to correct glitch!

*2023-08-29*

The second introduction screen is either too big for my iPhone, or freezes, because there is no way to select anything other than “back”. Emailed the provided address. Crickets. Don’t waste your time.

Developer correcting glitch. Email obviously wrong. Excited to use app!

**Developer response:** Hi Shiny's mom,

I know how frustrating that can be; I'm sorry it happened to you. I try hard to make everything work, so I'd like to figure out what went wrong. I've searched my email, but I can't find any problem reports.

The second screen should have a big "Let's Go" button on the bottom, so it should be easy to move to the next screen.

Can you please tell me what kind of phone you have? My email is toddhoffious@gmail.com. I'd really appreciate any help you can give in tracking down the problem. Thanks.

→ A few bug fixes.
→ New and improved charts and statistics. Looks and works a lot better.
→ A few important bug fixes.
→ Added polarized training model. Polarized training is the BEST possible way to build a more resilient heart. The core takeaway is that while maintaining an active lifestyle is essential, how you structure your exercise—through variety, recovery, and resistance training—is vital for long-term cardiac protection. Polarized Training (80/20): Roughly 80% of training should be at a low-intensity (conversational) pace, with 20% dedicated to high-intensity intervals. Resistance Training: Lifting weights is crucial for cardiovascular health, as it improves pumping efficiency without the volume overload associated with steady cardio, and it is particularly beneficial for those over 50. Prioritizing Recovery: Recovery is a physiological necessity, especially after age 50, with recommendations for at least 48 hours between hard sessions.

How do you keep your arteries flexible? The production of nitric oxide in the coronary arteries is what keeps those vessels flexible and resistant to disease. Performing short, high-intensity intervals is more effective at stimulating this nitric oxide production than spending the same amount of time at a steady, moderate pace.

The approach addresses the cardiac remodeling that occurs when the heart adapts to the demands placed upon it. While healthy stress with recovery leads to a stronger heart, chronic, poorly varied, and unrecovered exercise causes the heart to adapt in ways that are not beneficial. Structural changes: The heart muscle walls can thicken and stiffen, and the heart chambers can stretch and dilate. Electrical issues: The electrical systems that coordinate the heartbeat can become unreliable over time. Right ventricle strain: During sustained aerobic exercise, the right ventricle—which is thinner and more vulnerable than the left—handles a volume surge four to five times its resting level. Repeated, chronic volume stress on this side of the heart is linked to higher rates of atrial fibrillation. Oxidative stress: Prolonged moderate-intensity cardio without adequate rest generates excessive reactive oxygen species, which can overwhelm the body's antioxidant defenses, damage mitochondria in heart muscle cells, and reduce the heart's overall resilience.

→ Automatic Adding of Workouts Launched from Your Watch. If you say yes when Max Workout asks you to grant it permission to read completed workouts from your Health app, then Max Workout will attempt to log those workouts automatically so you don't have to add them manually.

→ AI Training Schedule Creator. This is a tool that will help you create custom training schedules based on what you enjoy doing and your goals

→ New Design. Max Workout has been redesigned for iOS 26. The much-loved guided interval training is still there, but everything else has been upgraded and improved.

→ More Workouts. There are new meditations and workouts.

→ There's a whole new planning and scheduling feature that will make creating your personalized training schedule a lot easier to create.

→ You can now search for workouts in multiple ways. There's a simple search by keyword for when you know what you want but not where it is. There's also a new AI Smart Match feature that asks you what you want to do and then directly starts your best-matched workout. Not sure what to do? Let AI pick for you. We also still have the One Tap feature, which takes you directly to the next workout in your weekly schedule.
