Simple setup and easy to understand. Spread the word on this because the more people who use it the safer we can all be!

### 5/5 — Great Idea!

*2018-05-21, version 1.0*

Crowd source safety notifications is a great idea. This app seems to do it right. The free app is basic but expanded capabilities will come as more people sign up and use this app. Great job on the ease of use. Great for families and businesses!

### 5/5 — Makes so much sense in today's crazy world

*2018-05-21, version 1.0*

Thanks Ryan for caring enough to do this. Your YouTube and podcasts have been so helpful as well.

### 5/5 — Keep it simple stupid

*2018-05-21, version 1.0*

This app does this! So easy and simple a child can do it! Which is what we need, our children safe.

Thank you Ryan for taking it upon yourself to do something that actually makes a difference. Not just a gut reaction law change that doesnt address any of the real problems.

### 5/5 — Stress Less

*2018-05-21, version 1.0*

Finally a smart emergency alert for natural and manmade disasters.

Hopefully, I’ll never have to use it.

### 5/5 — Great for my family

*2018-05-19, version 1.0*

Thank you. I can’t believe this hasn’t been out yet. I can use this for my family and friends when traveling. God bless you guys.

### 5/5 — Great for school safety

*2018-05-19, version 1.0*

I downloaded and used the app within the first day. I wish the schools will use this app, it will help communications in an emergency.

### 5/5 — Lifesaver

*2018-05-17, version 1.0*

Mayday Safety is an excellent resource to have at your disposal in an emergency situation. It is very easy to use, easy to set up, it works, and it’s free. There’s no reason not to have it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-07-11, version 1.9*

I tried about 20 times to get a verification code and it never sends it. I have no confidence that this app would work in an emergency.

### 1/5 — Broken, orphaned app

*2020-07-13, version 1.9*

App worked as described when we first downloaded it. After a few months it became apparent my wife and I no longer receive alerts from the app. We have both deleted and re-downloaded the app with no resolution to the issue. I have decided to delete the app as we are now several months in to the app not functioning.

I like the idea of this app. Since the intent would be to trust my family’s safety on this app even one failure is unacceptable.

### 1/5 — No one to contact for help

*2019-05-25, version 1.9*

I was so excited about this app as we need it desperately for our family. The ease of use is fantastic. However, after downloading, getting verified, and adding/accepting the contacts, I noticed that every time I reopen the app, I have to go through the whole verification process before I can even get to the alert button! How does that help anyone in an emergency?

I have searched through everything on the app and the website to find help for this situation to no avail. All I can find are FAQ’s that don’t address this problem, and no way to contact someone for help. I even went to the App Store again to see if I could find a way to contact someone there, but all of the links were bad.

I just don’t understand why someone would create an app to help people, but not provide help when the app goes awry.

### 1/5 — Not impressed.

*2019-03-19, version 1.9*

Just downloaded Mayday on both my phone and my wife’s phone. My phone shows I’m connected with her but on her phone it shows I need to add her back and is waiting. We both have each other on but the app won’t let her add me. If an app can’t start off right I don’t know if I can trust it.

### 1/5 — Won’t send me a code!

*2019-01-06, version 1.5*

My family uses this and for whatever reason, I cannot receive an activation code!! I’ve tried contacting the developer a few times over the last month and a half but I yet to get a response.

### 2/5 — Notification issues

*2020-09-03, version 1.9*

This is a fantastic app but notifications for iOS 13.6.1 are not working when sending from an Android phone. Safety updates require you to refresh each time for new information and I get nothing from maydays until I actually go into the app on iOS. So if the app is closed - nothing. I have location set for only when using the app on both phones. There’s a lot of potential here but it’s practically useless if the notifications don’t work.
I was also under the impression that the mapping and messaging system was internal. I’m a bit disappointed that it has to go through google maps on an Android device. Anything good seems to be in the paid version. You should be able to coordinate a crisis with your family as well as you can with a school.

### 2/5 — Sounds like a great app

*2019-01-15, version 1.5*

A friend of mine suggested this app because I have school-aged children and he had “used” it with other friends to test it and was very impressed. I researched it and it appears to be well thought out and answers a void in emergency situations, that of being able to notify multiple entities at once as well as being to provide a precise location of the user.

While I would love to give it a higher rating, as I imagine it deserves, I had to rate it with two stars for a couple of reasons. First, while trying to setup the app, there is a requirement to enter a verification code with an option to have a new code resent to the phone number provided. I never received a verification code and attempted to have a code resent with no success. I deleted the app and downloaded it again several times to only have the same results. Second, I contacted the app producers with the issues through both the app itself as well as through the Mayday website and have yet to receive any response.

I hope the makers are able to answer and fix this issue. Additionally, I would still recommend that others download this app as it may be very useful in an emergency event.

### 4/5 — Cool idea

*2018-08-07, version 1.3*

I’m really surprised this app doesn’t have thousands of downloads. Super great idea. This app makes it so quick and easy to alert a bunch of people if your in trouble. Let’s say you got kidnaped, who has time to whip out there phone and start texting messages to a bunch of people, and explain what’s happening. I’m going to get my fam on this app case I need them.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2021-10-11*

Great app… good job Ryan.

### 5/5 — Stalker awareness

*2019-11-07, version 1.9*

In a time where the world is somehow oblivious to the dangers of domestic violence, stalkers, and sexual assault victims. Sometimes there’s one person aside from your dog that may know the truth. This is a start to safety and more women and children getting away alive.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-08-10, version 1.9*

This app is a fantastic way to easily give piece of mind with kids on school

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2019-07-31, version 1.9*

I got my family to download this I think it’s a great product with tons of potential to save lives and help keep families businesses and schools protected.

### 5/5 — Perfect app for those with families

*2019-06-22, version 1.9*

I could not ask for a application more tailored to alerting you of potential danger that those you care about could find themselves in. In a time of stress there is nothing complicated to navigate in order to summon help. Great app, great UI, great idea, and a great developer. Thank you Cleckner.

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2019-02-13, version 1.9*

I like the design and the function of the app.

### 5/5 — An absolute necessity!

*2018-08-23, version 1.4*

This system is incredible - we are a daycare facility and have this app downloaded on all of our phones and iPads in the classrooms. We manage our entire facility on the Mayday Pro dashboard. Being able to send and receive alerts and communicate directly wish our rooms (and see who is safe on a map) is awesome.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2018-07-24, version 1.2*

It’s cool how organizations can send you alerts when you’re on their grounds.

### 5/5 — Simple and Effective

*2018-06-13, version 1.1*

The free version for the family is outstanding simple easy to use. Because it’s so simple it’s sometimes hard to get people to understand the value of this app.

I’m looking forward to getting this app into the hands of a couple of schools and see the power of the paid version.

### 5/5 — Great app for peace of mind

*2018-05-31, version 1.0*

Easy and simple to use. Very satisfied with it.
