The original game (Virtual City Playground) was very fun to play albeit it being challenging to get gems to enhance your progress. They decided to make it 10x worse by requiring you to play horrid tetris-style mini games (which some people really hate) in order to get Energy to complete building tasks. These tetris-style mini games become increasingly harder. I want to enjoy a methodical creativity game, NOT stress my brain out with useless boring overcomplicated puzzles – if I wanted that, I’d download bloody tetris! The creators (G5 Games) have clearly given up on Virtual City Playground as they haven’t updated it for 5 years, and this game is the reason why: they realised that making things impossible with gems was no use as most people didn’t want to pay for them, so they decided to make it worse for free players to try to entice even more in-app purchases with a “health” feature, which depletes every time you fail the tetris-style mini games. In order to restore your health, you have to wait a few hours OR pay an insane 9 gems, the latter of which are VERY hard to obtain for free. I really hope they scrap this awful rendition and update the original and still the best: Virtual City Playground, including bug fixes. I can’t play the original because the game crashes when loading because it’s not been updated for so long. ### 1/5 — Awful *2024-02-28, version 1.1.104* This is quite literally the EXACT same game as Virtual City playground just with a different app icon and levels to get energy? I don’t know how this was approved by G5’s testers and developers. I would only recommend Mayor Match: Cradle of City Building & 3 in a Row! Its from the same creator!
