### 4/5 — Great app but

*2025-10-01, version 2.66.0*

Awesome app . Don’t mind paying a $ but it’s free for Android !

### 5/5 — Best commuter rail tracker

*2024-11-16, version 2.59.0*

Easy to use

### 5/5 — Very accurate

*2024-11-01, version 2.59.0*

Hi

### 5/5 — Not one issue since I started using it last year!!

*2024-10-15, version 2.59.0*

I use this app almost every day and not once have I noticed an issue. The subscription is perfectly reasonable for an app that provides consistent value. However, the devs of this app keep providing value! They just added a new feature that lets commuters chat and let each other know what’s going on with the trains. A huge benefit. Kudos to the devs for making a simple and excellent experience.

### 5/5 — Great travel assistant

*2024-09-18, version 2.59.0*

Best data available for the concerned MBTA commuter

### 5/5 — Flawless Execution

*2024-09-13, version 2.59.0*

Does what it says it does.
Excellent map positioning and information density.
Simple easy to use interface. Concise and accurate helpful information.
Well worth the price of admission.

### 2/5 — Show a schedule

*2024-08-27, version 2.59.0*

It is too difficult to find a standard commuter rail schedule This should come up before trip planner or privacy policy. For that matter, who would want to see the railroad privacy policy?!

### 4/5 — Highly efficient and clean app

*2024-08-27, version 2.59.0*

Very nice app. Shows train schedule accurately and neatly. No annoying ads. I wish this app had option to save/bookmark the multiple routes instead of searching every time. And option to search the station by typing first few letters instead of scrolling and searching the station name in the list. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — WAYYYYY better than anything the MBTA Commuter Rail offers!

*2024-08-15, version 2.59.0*

Have been using this app for years; it’s the best $1 I ever spent! So, so worth it - train tracking, alerts, and updates from fellow riders about everything. Passengers are able to post information/updates in realtime: track numbers, delays, breakdowns, track issues, and train configuration, which cars have heat or A/C, number of conductors, which doors are opened, and so forth - much more detailed info and provided earlier than the MBTA does. Users can favorite their lines & train numbers, app pinpoints on map where train is located (great when running for the train), and shows ETAs for stations along the line. Depending on the users, there are sometimes even funny debates - at Halloween for instance, whether candy corn is great or a product of the devil (spoiler alert - I happen to like it ) Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Very useful app for commuter rail riders

*2024-08-05, version 2.59.0*

Very much worth the modest price. I use this app all the time.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2024-07-31, version 2.59.0*

Very useful to find where your train is while waiting at the staton

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-04-06, version 2.56.0*

Very polished and easy to use. This app has come a long way since it was first released.

### 5/5 — Always get a head start

*2024-01-25*

I literally check this before any commute, in or outbound. Knowing in advance how many cars, which track and what time is so worth the app fee. If the train looks like a disaster, work from home, don’t get stuck on a 3hr ride

### 5/5 — Great app.

*2024-01-15, version 2.47.0*

This is the app that most of us commuter rail employees use.

### 4/5 — Not reporting broading track information anymore

*2023-12-19, version 2.44.0*

Love this app. Would give it 5 stars BUT for some reason the MBTA Rail App not posting “boarding track information” anymore. I’m using the newest iOS version from apple App Store. Using iPhone 12 max pro phone. And 5g for internet connection. I’m running iOS 17.2 I recently upgraded. Maybe this is why? I’m leaving south station. No trains a posting boarding track information. I take the Foxboro train. If that helps. Mark O

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App not working

*2025-11-18, version 2.68.1*

Updated app and now it’s not working, nothing will load it’s just a blank white screen. Please fix this asap.

### 1/5 — This app should- must be free

*2024-09-24, version 2.59.0*

This app should- must be free

### 1/5 — Just the worst in the USA!

*2024-09-03, version 2.59.0*

Never have this trouble in other states! Worst run, worst repairs, worst excuses!

### 1/5 — Not worth current price

*2024-08-05, version 2.59.0*

I paid for the subscription a year ago and it was $1.99 for 12 months. Now it’s $9.99? I know about inflation and all that but 400% increase in 1 year? I’ve checked the price a few times to see if that was a mistake, but apparently it wasn’t, so I guess I’ll delete the app since it’s pretty useless without the subscription and the subscription isn’t worth it.

### 1/5 — Just charge for it

*2023-11-26, version 2.42.0*

I wanted to trial this app; however, the user experience is non-existent without the monthly fee. It would best serve to make it wholly unavailable or provide a free trial. The current experience is frustrating and misleading.

### 1/5 — Terrible Service

*2023-11-10, version 2.42.0*

I have been sitting on train in North Station for 35 min with no engineer. MBTA can not get their act together. If they had made proper announcements I could have moved to a different train line and made my appointment. Someone needs to take over the system. Terrible service.

### 1/5 — Broken edit box for reports

*2023-11-08, version 2.42.0*

Been trying to edit my posts and for some reason, it’s not working on my end, however, others can edit and post whenever they’d like, but I have to wait until an hour before departure. Makes no sense as it defeats the purpose of the app. Please fix it to how it was before.

### 1/5 — Shills for Eng & the T

*2023-10-09, version 2.41.0*

This app is shill for the T and is responding to inside pressure from them to censor any disparaging comments in a desperate last gasp to save itself. They try to demonstrate daylight between themselves but T insiders say very differently. The terms they are trying to shove down people’s throats are nothing more than first amendment suppression.

### 1/5 — So dumb

*2023-05-25, version 2.36.0*

It’s so stupid how you have to pay to find train times, to pay for a train ticket to ride the train. They just try to get every penny out of you

### 1/5 — Bad customer service

*2022-10-02, version 2.32.0*

The commuter rail is scheduled extremely unfair to those who are the furthest away from the city. These people pay the most, have long commutes and less trains than people who live closer to Boston and have other options for public transportation. Changes need to be made.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Won’t commute without it

*2026-07-18, version 3.8.0*

This app saves my commute! In the morning, I can see live tracking info and how many cars my train has. Coming home, people post the platform before it’s announced. When it’s delayed or late, people post why (which is great if conductors aren’t announcing or the speaker doesn’t work in your car). Lots of solidarity with other commuters in the chat too. Love the new notifications feature!

### 5/5 — life changing!!!

*2026-05-07, version 3.4.1*

really has improved my commute. so grateful for this app ❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — Great app to

*2026-05-05, version 3.4.1*

Great app to track my route train changes.

### 5/5 — Better than the MBTA site!

*2026-04-16, version 3.3.0*

This app is so helpful when commuting in and out of the city frequently!

### 5/5 — You need this app

*2026-03-30, version 3.2.0*

If you’re a MBTA commuter (specifically the commuter rail) you need this app

I see people waiting in snow, bitter cold, rain - you name it - versus me who has access to GPS location data is able to gauge comfortably from my vehicle when to leave and get on the platform.

Highly recommended.
0.99/mo is literally chump change for this app’s full feature access.

You get to post comments view gps location and statistics to see if the train is likely gonna be late again or not.

### 5/5 — Only Commute Rail App Worth Having

*2026-03-12, version 3.0.0*

This app is exponentially more helpful than any other transit app I’ve tried to use for the commuter rail, just the comment feature alone is enough since it lets riders share information but the history and data visuals are super useful as well. Best in the business.

### 5/5 — Better than the official app

*2026-02-24, version 2.76.1*

I use this app along with the official T and commuter rail alerts. 9/10 times the info here is more timely and more complete. Shows GPS data from train which is amazing and updates shared by other riders so some lines with more or less info.

### 5/5 — An essential app!

*2025-11-13, version 2.68.1*

This app's a lifesaver. The info it provides itself is super helpful (schedules, delay info, train locations, etc), but the comments/reports feature is what makes this TRULY an essential for me as a commuter. There's always super helpful people posting track numbers, train info (how many doubles/singles), etc. And on days when the trains are falling over left and right, at least the comment section usually provides some entertainment while I'm delayed.

Anyway, thank you for this app!

### 5/5 — This app exists to make up for failures of the commuter rail

*2025-11-11, version 2.68.1*

Id never make it to my destination if it wasn’t for this app. Seriously my train just left south station completely unannounced. It pulled in, waited 1 minute, then left. If I hadn’t guessed the right train through this app, I’d still be standing there. The mbta blows but this app makes it almost bearable.

### 5/5 — Sounds silly, but this is one of my favorite apps!

*2024-12-04, version 2.60.0*

Well worth the $2 per year subscription. I work in Boston periodically and this is awesome for navigating the commuter rail
