We set out to create a way for all people’s unique music tastes to be represented, wherever they are. Through our application, a host will start a party and subsequently invite their friends to the party by sharing the “Party Code”. Guests can request their own songs through Spotify to the common queue which can be seen by all members of the party. While on the queue page, party guests will be able to vote on the requested songs, and those with more likes will move up in the queue. MCEE will automatically play the song with the most likes so that the crowd gets to choose the song playing, not just the person controlling the music. Our goal at MCEE is to allow all guests to let themselves be heard in order to create the best party environment. Simply, we want to say goodbye to the DJ and give partygoers the control! HOST PARTY JOURNEY After connecting their Spotify account, users will be able to either host or join a party. If users select the host option, they will be prompted to enter a party name. After doing so, they will be asked to select a song that will immediately start playing once the party starts. In order to get other people to join your listening party, the user can create their own unique code or generate a random one. Once the party starts, the host will have access to the Music Controller screen, allowing them to play, pause, or skip the music. The host will also have the ability to submit their own songs to the queue and vote on everyone else’s suggestions. The host can end the party by simply clicking the end party button in the top right corner, which will subsequently remove all remaining guests from the party as well. JOIN PARTY JOURNEY Users can select the join party option, where they will be asked to enter the unique party code which they received from the host or another attendee. Users will join the main party queue, where they can see the name of the party, the party code, the host, and what song is currently being played. They can also see what songs are in the queue and their respective vote counts, where they can vote on songs as well.
