This makes the app hard to use because fingers are closer the bottom of the screen holding a phone. Not the top, is app need re-optimized for phone use in the real world please. ### 4/5 — Love this company *2025-09-08, version 3.24.0* Please help the app is broken. Only header loads. ### 4/5 — Good app but needs some refinements *2024-06-22* The simple catalog layout and graphical interface is easy to understand and well categorized. It is similar to their website layout. However, the navigation in the app is a bit confusing at times. The navigation tools are at the bottom right of the corner of the screen which is awkward locations. It also doesn’t work half the time. Every other app has it at the top left of the screen. The app could benefit from having a toolbar or ribbon for easier navigation. For every hardware folder you click on, it should make a new tab showing the category name every time one is clicked on. Some hardware items have many subcategories and it would be nice to see the path I used to get to a particular item. Some other things to note is it is a little buggy, like the screen would shift slightly for some reason. And occasionally it would freeze and not respond to touch, forcing me to restart the app and losing my progress searching for parts. ### 4/5 — Great app and company. *2023-08-29, version 3.7* Great, easy to use app and McMaster-Carr has Greta service. For me living in Pa and their warehouse being in Ohio, I get my orders the next day. My new go to for hardware. ### 3/5 — Was good at first, but now I’m having issues. *2021-02-06* When I first downloaded the app it worked pretty good. It kept asking me for a delivery address even though I had selected will-call/pick-up. I just put the McMaster Carr warehouse address to get around that issue. Now, the app will not even open. I keep getting a “No internet connection” window popping up when I use the app. So, basically it no longer working, which is a shame because my company has an account with them and it makes ordering parts and supplies easier. Can you send us an email at mobilefeedback@mcmaster.com so we can work through it with you? ### 3/5 — Great supplier, poor image handling *2020-12-26* I find the app a little clearer to use than their website, but they treat images as non-zoomable static size. I find myself constantly going back to their web site (another: why does it offer to copy the web link but not also offer to just GO to the web link. Makes what could be a single operation into copy, switch apps to safari, create a new tab, paste. Just have a 4th button to go there!) so that I can see the exact same information, except that when I pinch and zoom on the image, it does. If they wrote this in Xcode like they should have, these changes would be trivial to make. This new feature should come out within the next month or two. ### 1/5 — Scrolling Feature Horrible *2020-10-31, version 3.2.7* The way in which they’ve setup browsing on the app is almost dizzying. My only complaint I wish the parametric search was more like the desktop version. Used to be next day arrival. Now it’s hit or miss if you get your order. Not worth paying the outrageous prices when you can get it a 1/3 of the cost and actually get it the next day from Am*zon. And they carry just about everything McMaster does now. Guess they couldn’t keep up. No place to go but up I guess. ### 1/5 — It’s a great app if you have the eyes of a 12 year old. *2022-04-08* There are only a handful of apps out there that do not allow the user to increase the font or text size. McMaster Carr is one of the few dinosaurs. That is correct, it will not increase the font size even in iOS 15. I have joined the team to review new versions, and frequently asked about the ability to increase the font size, and was told it was not in the plan. It’s an absolutely amazing company with an absolutely amazingly bad app; it just doesn’t make sense. ### 1/5 — PAINFUL Search *2021-09-28, version 3.2.17* Several months ago they changed the way that search and sorting works. This was a terrible downgrade that makes searching and drilling down into products far too time consuming and painful and we frankly do substantially less business with MC because of this. ### 1/5 — Horrid is not a good definition *2021-09-02, version 3.2.16* This is no faster than with safari browser. After installing it, it is next to impossible to uninstall. You clearly had great staff setup the normal website but the app was something else. I just don’t care for the super refined selection that they make you do in order to look at what you want. This leaves no room for other options beside exactly and I mean exactly what your looking for. Why force into extreme refinement before letting the customer look first? Back button should be at the top left corner. Be a nice citizen of the platform you are working with. We aren’t android users here. In the “Catalog only days” I used to “guard and protect” my copy but with the app which allows you to find or learn anything at anytime, I don’t need to protect and defend my copy or carry it with me.
