The MD Keyboard extension for iOS is specially engineered with doctors and clinicians in mind. Add this keyboard from your Settings and it will become available as a normal keyboard for use in most apps such as Email, Notes and Messaging. The MD Keyboard allows you to search our vast medical database with cognitive AI and returned results can be entered into the text you are typing so it's like having an expert at your fingertips at any time from any app! With a free @Point of Care account, you can even earn CME credits right from the keyboard or type links to such materials into your text stream. On top of that, MD Keyboard provides a dynamic medical dictionary for word prediction and completion, including thousands of drug names. Also, we added more than the usual key alternates (long hold a key), giving you shortcuts to common medical abbreviations and scientific symbols. There is also Utility Mode where we will offer various specialized tools, starting with a simple calculator that will type numerical results into your field so you don't have to switch to a calculator app to do basic calculations. MD Keyboard sounded like a nice idea until I saw it was a touch keyboard only. I've seen complaints of autocorrection of medical terms which is silly as you just need to turn that feature off. Symbols (and enter key) aren’t where they are on all other iOS keyboards. Furthermore thedictiobary needs to be updated with more extensive knowledge of medical conditions and terms. I have an excel sheet they could have that has way terms. The autocorrect function is very bad and corrects words unnecessarily, while neglecting to correct misspelled words. The replacement of correct words with nonsensical words is he most annoying. If you start typing a word and move the cursor to try to edit it, it doesn't recognize what you typed as part of the same word. I love the calculator function since iPad's don't come with one. It is a good start and would be helpful in theory, but there's a lot of bugs to fix especially if you expect clinicians to be able to use this on the Fly. i've had to correct the last sentence tons of times because it keeps changing my words!!! Also the undo botton will delete a whole block of text just written, and there is no redo. The Watson search function doesn't work. It's terrible how annoying this autocorrect function is and it is hard to make it accept a word. Furthermore the version of the word it allows you t select to accept is always capitalized unnecessarily. Fix this ASAP ### 1/5 — An aphasic spell checker! *2018-10-04, version 1.1.0* It’s amazing that there’s no option to supplement the apple spell checker with a full medical dictionary. That's a big problem but this is hilariously not the solution. I think it can correctly spell some medication names. But the autocorrect mangles everyday abbreviations. MRI --> "sri” or "moi", LDL --> "lil", DM --> "dma", and it replaces normal English ("Engwish" - seriously!) with ("wit") gibberish. I can't imagine what went wrong ("wrone") here. Also, caps turns on randomly ("randonly"). ### 1/5 — Apple is better *2018-06-15, version 1.1.0* This keyboard corrects words to things that make 0 sense.
