## What is md Viewer?

md Viewer displays your Markdown files as real documents: diagrams, maps, callouts and highlighted entities, with the typography and colours of the ok-ia.ch design language.

FEATURES
• Faithful Markdown rendering (headings, tables, lists, quotes)
• Mermaid diagrams: flowchart, sequence, gantt, pie, mindmap — with full-screen zoom
• Leaflet maps (Obsidian plugin style): positioned markers, OpenFreeMap/OSM base maps, full-screen button for portrait or landscape
• Obsidian callouts (note, tip, warning, bug…), wiki-links, entity highlighting (NER)
• Presentation mode: your document becomes a full-screen slideshow, split on ---, with transitions, a thumbnail browser and five colour themes
• Vault: point the app once at your reports folder and it finds them — so does Siri
• Siri, Spotlight and Shortcuts: “Open the latest report”, “Summarise a report”…

AI, ON YOUR DEVICE
• Document summary, properly structured: a direct answer, chapters, lists — not a wall of text
• Chat with the document: the opening screen offers questions drawn from the report itself, about its own subjects
• Answers draw on its content alone; when the answer is not in it, the app says so instead of inventing one
• They are written in the app's language, even when the report is written in another
• The document is treated as data, never as a command: an instruction slipped into a report is not carried out
• Everything runs on the device: no account, nothing uploaded, no text leaving it (requires an Apple Intelligence-capable device)

100% OFFLINE
Rendering, diagrams, callouts, exports and the AI need no connection. Only map tiles load online.

Maps get a clean background again.

• The map background had been showing a watermark across it ever since its
  supplier closed free access. It gives way to clean light and dark backgrounds,
  served by OpenFreeMap from OpenStreetMap data
• Place names are now drawn on the fly: they stay sharp at every zoom level and
  no longer appear twice, in two alphabets
• Maps exported to PDF, Word and PowerPoint carry the new background too
• Slides are no longer cut off at the sides when presenting from an iPhone held
  upright

Five languages, and your reports become conversational.

• Interface in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian — the app follows
  your device's language, or the one you pick in Settings
• Chat with the document: ask questions about the open report. Answers are
  structured into chapters and draw on its content alone
• The opening screen offers questions taken from the document itself
• Answers are written in the app's language, even when the report is written
  in another
• PDF export on A4 (or Letter, depending on your region): a proper paginated
  document, ready to annotate with the Pencil in Notes or to send on. Maps and
  diagrams appear whole, and no heading is left stranded at the foot of a page

FASTER, CLEARER
• Image-heavy reports appear straight away: images load as you read instead of
  holding up the whole document
• Entity highlighting now works whatever language the report is written in
• Offline, a map says it is unavailable and lists its markers instead of
  showing a grey frame
• Very large documents show a waiting message rather than an empty screen

The summary and the chat require an Apple Intelligence-capable device (iOS 26 or
later). Like the rest of the app, they run on the device: no text is sent
anywhere.
