### 5/5 — It works so good

*2026-08-14, version 7.9.0*

I need to see a psychiatrist regularly, but trying to see one in person is practically impossible. So with MDLive I’m able to keep myself from having any major or mental problems. The doctor I’m seeing now is just wonderful. Keeps up on how I’m doing and makes sure my meds are refilled. This is a great set up.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Customer Service Lacking

*2026-08-14, version 7.9.0*

I’ve been a customer for 3 years. Ended up needing customer support for a simple record issue that impacts my insurance and support has been almost non-existent. 45+ days and still no resolution.

### 1/5 — Poor Quality Providers

*2026-08-12, version 7.9.0*

I’ve used this app on several occasions. Once for an eye infection, and twice for an allergic reaction.

The first doctor prescribed me the wrong antibiotics for an eye infection, causing me to follow up in-person with an eye doctor. The eye doctor stated that the MD Live doctor clearly should have known those are not the correct eye drops. What should’ve been a simple fix resulted in a couple weeks with a severe eye infection.

For the allergic reaction, I was not prescribed enough prednisone, which resulted in a rebound that was more severe than the first reaction. After two rounds of treatment at MD Live, I chose it in-person provider that explained to me that MD Live should’ve known to prescribe me a longer steroid treatment cycle due to my severe reaction, which would’ve prevented the rebound effect.

MD Live asked me if I wanted to follow up, but then wanted to charge me for a follow up appointment even though their providers were clearly negligent in all cases.

Use this app if you have no other choice, but in-person providers are much preferable in my opinion.

### 1/5 — They pester you with 20 reminders before every session.

*2026-08-08, version 7.9.0*

They are aggressive and bombard you with 20 reminders before every session. They require your email and phone, then persistently call, email, and text you. The FTC should prohibit MD Live.

### 1/5 — Try anything else

*2026-07-21, version 7.9.0*

The app or website will just take in in circles not allowing you to setup an appointment because no doctors are available to take a 2 minute phone call. And then it will tell you to call their support line where they will put you on hold for over an hour just to tell you to set up an appointment on their website

### 1/5 — All around horrible company and app

*2026-07-14, version 7.9.0*

The app locks up all the time cause ppl to miss their appointments and even if you call during the appointment time and tell them of the issue they mark it as a missed appointment and charge you a fee for missing it do to their app… customers service will not help or notify the provider of the issues or concerns… they don’t care if you miss important medication or care about you or your mental health… your just a number and a dollar sign to them… no one keeps this company accountable

### 1/5 — This is a scam!!!!!!!!

*2026-07-13, version 7.9.0*

I used the service at approximately 5 AM in my time in Texas. It is listed as a 24/7 service. The physician that came onto the phone was incoherent and leaning on her hand as her head wobbled back-and-forth. I could barely understand what she was saying I kept asking her to speak up. She told me to go see a doctor in person for a cough. She was not a good communicator at all. I feel completely scammed by the service. When I called customer service after the call they were even less helpful.. I do not recommend this service as they are very unprofessional.

### 1/5 — Great doctors poor back end support

*2026-07-10, version 7.9.0*

Don’t do it. Find another way. If you change insurance they will deactivate your account and still charge you for missed appointments. When you ask to merge your old account to your new account it will treat you as a new patient. You will pay missed appointment fees for appointments in your deleted account. The app constantly glitches. Signing-in is an adventure. Find another option in your insurance. I wish I wasn’t so invested with my doctors or I would leave in a heartbeat.

### 1/5 — Billing Nightmare

*2026-07-08, version 7.9.0*

Be careful with giving them your credit card information. They will bill you for services they don’t deliver or that should be paid for by insurance.

I’ve had to call support multiple times and they say they will correct it, but they seem to be lying and probably just wait people out until they give up. I only got my money back after reporting the issue to the Better Business Bureau.

### 1/5 — 1 Star: Negligent Patient Abandonment and Broken Infrastructure

*2026-06-27, version 7.8.0*

UPDATE: The formal complaints with the State Medical Board and the California Attorney General have been officially filed. I will not be emailing a generic inbox to "tell you more" about a medical emergency because you already have the system logs. Your compliance department can explain the ghost-billing and platform failures directly to state investigators.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Do not trust this app with your health. During a 2:30 AM medical crisis, MDLIVE’s platform completely failed, trapping me with terrifying, corrupted, looping audio static instead of connecting me to a doctor.

When I asked for help, support chat just closed my ticket with a copy-pasted marketing script telling me to call an 800-number. Then the app automatically generated a blank "consultation summary" and a blank "claims form," trying to log a successful encounter and process insurance paperwork for a visit that never happened.

Leaving an extremely ill patient stranded, refusing to provide a working channel of communication, and fabricating empty billing documents crosses the line from technical incompetence into gross negligence. Formal complaints have been filed with the State Medical Board and the California Attorney General. Avoid this dangerous app at all costs.

### 1/5 — Incompetent Medical Advice

*2026-06-11, version 7.8.0*

Beware! They will sure take your money and tell you to keep doing what you’re doing instead of giving a prescription, despite worsening symptoms.

### 5/5 — So thankful

### 5/5 — Life saver

*2026-08-25, version 7.9.0*

This makes seeing a psychiatrist way more easier and I can get the help I need without having to miss work. Thank you! Plus, doctor is fantastic! Wouldn’t trade her!

### 5/5 — Great option

*2026-08-22, version 7.9.0*

This has been a great option for me as I don’t go to the doctors often and it seems like when I need to go it’s on the weekend when my dr office is closed. My co pay for tge ER is a high co pay and most times it’s not an emergency so with that being my only other option I don’t like to go. This app has helped me miss less time from work by being able to see someone at inconvenient times.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2026-08-21, version 7.9.0*

So easy to use and see a doctor quickly. The app is great but it crashes everything I try to add my debit card. I tried in the iPad and iPhone. I had to login online to add my card. When I try to have a visit with the doctor, it will not connect my phone app crashes every single time. I can only use the app on my iPad.
