After going into REDRAGE because I was afraid after paying tons of money for a fishing to Grenada, I put the phone down and took 5 and checked email which had the license number that I needed to get in. I remember it saying screenshot this page and doing just that, but I guess it was scrolled to the wrong place. Anyway I still think it’s a good looking app with what seems like a lot of good features, but I gotta drive to the city for it to work properly due to us country folk not really being on the top of cellular data priority list. My suggestion for the app folks would be to not shove a “review our app” in someone’s face until they have had a moment. ### 4/5 — License Renewal *2022-06-30, version 2.5.6* When trying to buy my license on here, it gives me trouble. I had to change my phone number and address because I moved and it has trouble letting me change it to my new address and phone number; therefore, it negates the benefit of the convenience of purchasing my license this way. I have to end up calling or going to a store to buy them. If gas wasn’t so high, I would just purchase my lifetime license and b done with it. Otherwise I would rate this app 5/5. ### 4/5 — Great app! *2022-05-20* I’m still exploring, but so far I like what I see. I wish they had a link to include saltwater info. I know it’s a different department, but let’s see some collaboration with DMR. Moon, tide, water temp and clarity would be great on that note. There are a couple of glitches (No back button in some places), but overall, GREAT tool. Would also like to see license info perma-logged/on home screen after renewal for easy access when there’s no signal. ### 4/5 — Needs a few fixes *2022-03-11* Renewing license just takes you to the website. Should be all in one. If you click on some of the icons the “back” button disappears and you have to close out the app to go to the home. Other than those things, the app looks great, shows a lot of important information, and it’s easy enough to navigate. 4 stars! ### 5/5 — Need updating *2021-11-01, version 2.5.5* App want open. Your app will not let me use portal past the birthdate field. All other fields are gray. This has been since before Father’s Day. After my last bad review, you issued an immediate update, which didn’t work either. The local bait and gun stores gave in to the unmanned Walmart desk, so it seems that fishing licenses have become unattainable. I should bill you my work in repeatedly reporting this matter. I should be issued a complimentary 100-year amnesty pass. TOM WELDON THE JUNIOR ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lake limits *2024-06-26* Changing limits will effectively stop me from coming to Mississippi from Missouri to fish for a couple weeks 2 ta three times a year, hope yer economey can stand ta miss out on the thousand er so dollars we spend each trip, if live scope is the problem, then why not outlaw the use of livescopes on the lakes, Guides are what's drivin this because they all use them sbd they are taking way to many fish out of the lakes, 30 years ago there were at least as many fisherman and anybody that couldn't catch their 30 fish a day jes didn't know how ta fish, nice ta be appriciated Guys!!!! ### 1/5 — This app is horribly designed *2024-05-31* As a web developer, I would be ashamed if I made this app. Most of the links are not in app and take you to a pdf page that is also horribly designed. It doesn’t even include size limits for fish. Take a look at the TPWD app if you want to see what a halfway decent fishing/hunting app looks like. This thing is so bad that after 10 minutes on it, I am deleting it because it is essentially useless. ### 1/5 — Fraud *2023-01-04* Pretty easy to deceive consumers when you remove honest negative reviews. This app took my money and never mailed me my license and the app never had a record of my license. I called and emailed everyone I could but I never dealt with anyone other than typical inept government workers. I would like to state that under US federal law Consumer Reviews Fairness Act it is illegal to remove honest illegal reviews and I have reported the store, MDWFP, and the developer to the federal trade commission for engaging in the deceitful acts and filed a report also for the fraud committed. Enjoy. Buyer beware. ### 1/5 — Useless for Fishermen *2022-06-15* While I applaud the MDWF for even having an app with some useful information, this app could be so much better with basic fishing information, such as size and creel limits for fresh and saltwater fish species. All of this info is easily available so why is it not already included? This is really just a hunting app contrary to the title. Boating regulations, such as required safety equipment checklists, registration and renewal info, and licensing requirements would be another good addition. Again, all readily available info that would be housed in one convenient place. The money has already been spent to develop this app so please add useful info for the other half of the recreational population. ### 1/5 — Garbage App *2022-03-19, version 2.5.6* Tried to report my Turkey harvest and app would not work. Furthermore, website wouldn’t pull up on my phone. Tried the 800 number to report my Turkey and wouldn’t you know, it’s a Saturday and no one answers the phone. Get a better method get better reporting. Sad ### 1/5 — Crashes *2022-03-03, version 2.5.6* I do not understand why. But every time I attempt to open this app, it just crashes. I have yet to be able to use it. I have an IPhone 7, but never had problems like this with any other app before. ### 1/5 — Good for nothing. *2021-05-12, version 2.5.5* This app is useless if we can’t use it. Meaning: if it can be used to store our hunting license why not let it take the place of our hunting license. I got a ticket this past year from showing a (good for nothing) game warden my license on the app and he said I needed to have the paper copy. $400 in tickets and court fees is what this app has costed me so far good luck everyone. ### 1/5 — Cannot turn off auto renewal *2021-03-05* You guys have assigned me different MDWFP #’s for my hunting and fishing license, I can access auto renewal on my hunting license, but not on my fishing license, which somehow got turned on. I didn’t do it, and I will refuse it on me credit card the next time you bill me. I should be able to access my account on the web using my MDWFP # and should be easily able to control auto renewal on my app! Beginning to look a little like you guys are scamming! ### 2/5 — Hopeful *2022-11-01, version 2.5.6* I’m not sure if it’s my end having difficulties but sections seem to ever hardly load in and or not at all, very good system, i just think it needs more attention and troubleshoot. Overall it has a good layout, just hoping for the best ### 2/5 — Login *2020-04-25* The application did not remember my login information and I was required to reenter it. Then it asked for my hunter safety course information. I do not carry this with me. That is the purpose of using an app. I have hunted many times prior and get the emails to renew my license. This should be saved with fish and wildlife and connected to the app, so I do not need to reenter all the information and look up the hunter safety course again. This is very frustrating and requires a great deal of unnecessary time. Also shooting time, what time the sun comes up, and a hint for the greatest days for hunting.
