The things you are supposed to know about your partner and never quite do. Their sizes when you are stood in a shop. Their mum's birthday, before it has gone. What they cannot eat, before you book. You each fill in a page about yourself. They fill in theirs. Then you swap, and you both stop guessing. Every line is in their own words, so nothing is invented and nothing is assumed. WHAT YOU END UP HOLDING Sizes, from shoes to rings, so nothing has to go back. The dates that matter, with enough warning to do something about them. What they cannot eat, and where they would actually like to go. What they have been hinting at since March. Who wears them out, and what is best not brought up. PICK TOGETHER Swipe on your own phone, keep or pass, then swap and see what you both kept. Takeaway tonight, dog names, date nights, holidays, and baby names. Baby names stays off until you switch it on, and suggests real names made from both of yours, each with a reason. Nothing you pass on ever leaves your phone. THE QUIZ Five questions, four answers, one of them theirs. You take one about them, they take one about you, and you find out who was paying attention. THINGS YOU BOTH WANT TO DO A shared list. Tick something off and it becomes a memory you can both write on, with a photograph if you took one. THE SWAP Hold the two phones together and they find each other, the way AirDrop does. They are asked by name, and nothing moves until they say yes. It goes straight from one phone to the other, encrypted, without touching the internet. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO There is no account and no server. Everything stays on your two phones. No analytics, no tracking, no adverts, and no subscription: one payment opens everything, and two of the packs and the takeaway deck are free before you spend anything. You each swipe on your own phone. Keep it or pass. Then swap, and see what you both kept. Five decks to start: takeaway tonight, dog names, date nights, holidays, and baby names. Takeaway is free. Baby names is off until you switch it on, and only on your phone. Choose girls, boys or either, where the names come from, and how common you want them. It also suggests real names made from both of yours, each with a reason: a form of one of your names, a name hiding inside the other, or one that shares a meaning. Keep a saved list of names you already love. Anything you add reaches your partner as just another name to swipe, with nothing to say it came from you. When you both keep the same thing, you will know. Put your shortlist in order, and hear each name read out with your surname. Nothing you pass on ever leaves your phone. ### 1.2 — 2026-09-17 Their answers actually show up now. If your partner answered the opening ten questions and nothing else, their page said "Not answered" all the way down and the screen listing what they had answered was blank. Their ten answers were in the app the whole time. Every page that shows what somebody has said was grouping by pack, and the opening ten belong to no pack. Their page has been rebuilt around it. It opens with what they have said, not with what they have not: a count, their sizes where they have given any, and then everything in their own words, grouped and coloured by the pack it came from. The blanks are one line now instead of nine, and they offer a round together before they offer to send anybody a message. Ask them, and it lands somewhere. "Ask them" used to send a bare question and leave the rest to the other person. The message now says who asked, and carries a link that opens that exact question on their phone, ready to answer. The swap ends on their page. It used to end on a screen about the swap with a button to dismiss. Now the animation settles straight onto their page, with their answers on it. Smaller things, all of them found with a finger: The keyboard no longer opens itself at every question you can type into. The four buttons along the bottom get out of the way while you are typing. Pressing the tab you are already on takes you back to the top of it, so you are never stuck several screens deep. Nothing is drawn over the clock any more. There is far less text on every screen. It said far too much. When there is a new version, the app tells you and takes you to it. ### 1.1 — 2026-09-15 Colour, at last. Each of the eight packs now has its own drawing and its own colour, so the list is something to look at rather than eight lines of text. The colour carries on into the pack when you open it. The bar along the bottom says who is who: your colour and theirs, on the two buttons that stand for the two of you. A pack you have not unlocked yet shows what it costs, instead of just saying "Locked". The row that tells you your partner has not got your latest answers is now easy to spot at a glance, and still only ever one row. At the end of a round you get your score as a number, next to each other, where before it was a sentence in small type.
