Where it falls down is the timer to turn the unit off. Once the timer has been set, if you look at any other app on your phone, the app forgets the timer and the unit will run indefinitely. You have to set the timer and put the phone down! ### 3/5 — New app has lost current room temperature *2026-05-26, version 1.0.2* UPDATE MAY 2026: So you can view the current temperature in the latest version now. You need to customise the Home screen with the ‘Data Dashboard’ and add Current Temperature field. Old app was great - this one seemed fine at first, BUT where has the current temperature gone - removing this info is surely undermining the whole point of the air con unit? ### 2/5 — Timers don’t work *2026-05-24, version 1.0.2* Setting the on or off timers has no impact on the machine ### 3/5 — Mostly OK *2026-05-23, version 1.0.2* The app does a fair job of controlling air conditioners. However, pairing them over Wi-Fi requires not only forcing the app device to connect to 2.4Ghz, but also discovering that the + button to add the device is not on the Home page but on the Routines page. Showing current room temperature as well as target temperature would be far more useful than showing target temperature alone. ### 3/5 — Hallo Meaco *2026-02-03* Die App wäre eigentlich ganz gut. Dich kann ich nur wiederholen, was andere Anwender auch schreiben: Da sind ein paar Schriften viel zu klein! Die Anzeige der aktuellen Luftfeuchtigkeit z.B.: sehr klein und dann noch hellgraue Schrift auf weißem Hintergrund. Das zu ändern benötigt nur Minuten. The target font size is huge, but that is less important than the actual indoor humidity, which is titchy and pale grey. Meaco, please give us a more balanced display. I have seen this same criticism from others, on the John Lewis site. ### 1/5 — Terrible device control *2026-01-14, version 1.0.2* Really poor app to control the dehumidifier. You can achieve what you want, but it’s the most cumbersome way to achieve anything. If you’re a developer reading this, please try to set a scheduled task to turn night mode on at 7pm, and then turn it off at 7am. The only reliable way I’ve found to do it is insane. How about enable air purify mode? Press the icon on the screen that says “air purify”? ABSOLUTELY NOT! You have to fiddle with the little menu at the bottom. First of all the instruction manual had nothing about pairing with an app even though the Argos listing said it came with one. I found the app myself. Could not pair with the machine and all the instructions in the app on how to pair manually, refer to a completely different image to the machine I bought and it definitely is?! Furious to be quite honest on spending £180 on this machine which I’m going to have to now immediately return. ### 1/5 — Loses Devices *2025-12-08, version 1.0.2* Installed to use with Arete 2. Worked fine at first but now each time I open the app I have to re-add device. Loses it every single time. As many other reviews have stated, the + button on the home page simply doesn't work. The only way I managed to pair the app was by searching the internet. Haven't seen an onboarding process this bad in years. ### 1/5 — Could be more stars but…. *2026-06-30, version 1.0.2* Has so much promise yet fails to deliver. Have a few Meaco devices but sadly you can only add one and no more so in order to run two things I have to have two accounts and log in and out between them. Update, had power out, machine no longer on my Home Screen and cannot re add it. Product itself is fine but it shouldn’t be this hard to set up & work out how to use it. At least two reviewers have pointed out that the + to add a device to the app is not on the home page. There is a + sign there but it doesn’t work. You have to go to the Routines page to find the + that works. Just one example. Chat bot didn’t mention this error in the instructions when we called for help. Had to come here to reviews to get the info we needed. ### 1/5 — Absolute dogs*t of an app *2026-05-25, version 1.0.2* Nothing works and still requires to make an account. What is the point!???? I wish I could give negative stars. Before, I could at least turn the dehumidifier on and off and set some timer. Now I can’t even see the status. It’s stuck on the default humidity level, timer doesn’t work, scheduling doesn’t work, list goes on and on. Don’t get me started on privacy policies. It absolutely does not need all that permissions. Obv uninstalled and deleted. My only complaint would be that the instructions could be better on how to connect it over wi fi. The app detected the unit almost instantly and everything synced perfectly. I can monitor the humidity levels, adjust settings remotely, and create schedules with ease. The connection has been stable and reliable, with no dropouts or pairing problems so far. The Arete Two itself is quiet, efficient and easy to use, and the app makes it even more convenient. It's refreshing to see a smart appliance where the software actually works as intended. Could you please make the size of the text used to display the room’s relative humidity larger please? If it was equal to the size of the text of the target humidity then that would be brilliant! If that’s not possible? Then at least a few sizes bigger than its existing format because the size now is just too small and it is frustratingly annoying. Also is there any possibility of having a dark mode available?The light/bright format that it is in at present could be better if it also had to option of dark mode especially for use in the evenings. Hopefully you won’t find these requests too difficult to action and I shall look forward to when you deploy the changes. Many thanks in anticipation. ### 5/5 — Excellent, once you worked around a tiny linguistic mistake in the manual *2025-11-14, version 1.0.2* Tried for a bit according to their how-to description, and simply couldn’t bring up a new unit to be added. Frustrating. Through trial and error realised that it is not the + (Plus) symbol on the HOME screen that adds a new machine (as per manual), but the + symbol under ROUTINES that gets you there (Home Screen bottom centre). ### 5/5 — Steuerung einwandfrei *2025-10-02* Die Meaco App macht die Verwendung sehr einfach: Ich sitze im Büro, sehe dass das Balkonkraftwerk ausreichend Strom produziert. Dann mache ich die Meaco App auf und schalte den Luftentfeuchter ein, der per WLAN angebunden im Keller steht. Alles funktioniert einwandfrei.
