Saving and finding recipes is extremely easy. It accurately recognizes online recipes from almost any website to save them and gives you options to add them manually by typing or copy/pasting or to giving you tools to help recognize the parts of the few online recipes it can’t automatically process. I can plan and schedule my meals using the recipe. It even gives me a shopping list sorted by the isle for the recipes I schedule. They added a feature that you can now import recipes right from your social media so no more recipes stuck in your save tab :) No more “jump to recipe” after reading an entire life story before making a lasagna—Mealboard’s webpage import makes it incredibly simple to save all your favorite recipes. As a mom of five, this app is my number one tip for keeping my brain organized for making food for my family! Plus you can make shopping list for different stores that you use which can allow you to mark favourite foods separately so can see when run out. It also allows you to a pantry or cupboard where you see what is bought so you can manage what is available and need. This can used for those that are Preppers as well just generally shopping and meal planning. All in Application. I would recommend to any one looking for household management tool. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Just let me use the app *2026-05-18, version 6.0.5* If I want to rate you, I will. ### 1/5 — Extremely poor design *2025-12-13, version 5.0.7* Would have been OK but the check boxes are squeezed between the edge of the page and the grocery item making it extremely difficult to check them without accidentally touching and opening the item. This makes it a very stressful and unpleasant app to use. ### 1/5 — Nicht für Deutschland geeignet *2025-08-23, version 5.0.7* Alle Daten basieren vermutlich auf den USA oder GB. Dass die Menüführung auf Englisch ist, ist eine Sache. Allerdings lassen sich auch Funktionen wie der Barcodescanner nicht nutzen, da die Verlinkung auf US-Produkte läuft. Kirschen von Lidl werden so zu Skirts. Auch wenn man einmal alles manuell eingibt, bleibt die Verlinkung des Barcodes unverändert auf Skirts. Man müsste also jedes Mal alles von Hand eintippen und kann den Scanner nicht nutzen. Für mich eine wesentliche Funktion einer solchen App, daher in Deutschland unbrauchbar. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t sync *2025-04-21, version 5.0.5* I paid to upgrade my account to fully paid. I use MealBoard on my iPad and my iPhone. To get them to sync I set up an account in my iPad app. It synced just fine. But when I try to sync with my iPhone it tells me I need to set up an account!!! It will not allow me to log in using the same credentials I use on my iPad. I’ve tried several times with the *exact same credentials*, but my iPhone MealBoard app does not recognize my account. This really is not worth the hassle and time. ### 1/5 — Hope you don’t want to cancel… it’s IMPOSSIBLE! *2025-04-06, version 5.0.4* This has got to be the worst app. There is zero stored recipes or stores… it’s basically a glorified excel spreadsheet and place to keep your files. Also, heaven forbid you hate it like me, you can’t cancel because there is no way to contact anyone and certainly not a simple little button to push! I have made my account WITH an email address and every time I click “contact us” it tells me I don’t have an email address on the account. This app is trash! ### 1/5 — Better things should have been the focus *2025-03-09, version 5.0.1* There was zero need to “modernize” the app. We should be given the option to have the modernized version or not. There are better things to improve, such as: (1) Have user choose the color codes for Meal Types. The user can only delegate a meal’s time, and the time automatically chooses the meal’s color code. Letting the user assign each meal’s color code would be more helpful. ### 1/5 — Buggy and does not refresh *2024-12-16, version 4.1.18* I purchased a full version and wish I didn't. It is very buggy and I am running into multiple issues. When switching between lunch/dinner, changes are not reflected in the calendar. It would not let me update the name of the menu if I try to do it from my laptop. Dragging/copying and pasting previously used menu dont work more than half of the time. So not purchase a paid app- it is a total waste of money. ### 1/5 — Not happy with ap going back to paper and pen *2024-11-10, version 4.1.18* Purchased upgrade and it is still not user friendly ### 1/5 — why does the cal keep opening to Oct. it’s not Oct *2024-11-03, version 4.1.18* Love the app but why is it every time I open the app it goes to oct and not to the day in nov. it shouldn’t be set default to Oct cause it’s not oct. there is nowhere in setting to make it stop opening to oct. Also can you add notifications to notify us in the morning for breakfast, lunch and dinner that day so everyone can know instead of having to remember to go into the app and look. I know other apps have the notifications for the day in the morning to remind you, but I don’t like their layout. Notifications help when you’re super busy and forget what to have prepared for dinner. ### 1/5 — Limited Canadian items recognized with scan *2024-01-30, version 4.1.16* The scan function is what I want. But I’ve scanned 10+ items and they either come up ‘unrecognized barcode’ or a different item. Eg., tomato sauce comes up as a leather belt. I’m really happy that they added a feature to import recipes from photos and tiktok videos because that was something that I was wanting😂. ### 5/5 — Lifesaver *2026-08-16, version 6.0.12* I don’t mind cooking, I even enjoy it, but I hate grocery shopping, coming up with a list of what to buy, figuring out what to make… This app streamlines all of that. I create custom categories that make sense to me for recipes I love. I can add recipes to each day for different meals, and sometimes I do. I love that I have access to this feature. Best of all, you can add the ingredients for each recipe to a grocery list, uncheck anything you have on hand, and it tells you how much to buy based on the recipes you plan to make so you don’t buy too much/too little. I did add everything in my pantry when I first got the app but for me it’s a lot to maintain. Use it weekly! ### 5/5 — The best recipe/meal prep app I have ever used *2026-08-04, version 6.0.11* This app has always been ahead of its time. You can grab recipes from blog websites by simply pasting the URL, take a photo of a recipe from a cookbook or a handwritten recipe and convert it into a digital recipe, or manually add your own. It truly becomes one home for all of your recipes. It has its own built-in calendar where you can plan your meals for the week or month by simply adding recipes to each day, mark leftovers, or label each meal (lunch, etc). It then syncs with your Calendar app, so your meal plan automatically appears there. It can create a grocery list from your meal plan, combining all the ingredients into one place. You can check off the ingredients you already have in your pantry, leaving only what you need to buy. Then you can even sync that list with your grocery store. But this latest update has made it exceptional. You can now import recipes directly from social media, so no more saving endless videos you’ll never watch again. You can also copy/paste full recipes you’ve had sitting in PDFs, your Notes app, or even old photos for years, it will convert them! I honestly didn’t think there was another way this app could improve, but this update solved one of the biggest gaps it had. Now every recipe I own, no matter where I saved it, can finally live in one place. And you can back it up and sync to your cloud so you can’t lose it!
