## What is Measured?

Measured is a strength coach that adapts to you: your equipment, the areas you tell it to avoid, and the exact weights you lifted last session. No generic plans or guessing which dumbbells to grab when your plan says "medium weights." No guesswork; just load the app and work out. Progress over process.

HOW IT WORKS
Tell Measured where you like to work out, what equipment you have available, your preferred schedule, and any injuries, and the app will recommend a program and build a plan around you. The programs are structured and phased, and the app uses AI to adapt each one to you. Every set arrives with a specific weight to load, adjusted from your real performance, not a percentage of a number you typed in months ago. The app adapts; it doesn't make guesses.

BUILT FOR REAL TRAINING
- Programs for every setup: commercial gyms, home gyms with a few dumbbells, and bodyweight
- Flag a knee, shoulder, or back and it suggests movements that avoid that area. Every swap is shown, and you can keep the original
- A progression engine that raises (or lowers) weights based on how your last session actually went
- One tap per exercise to rate effort, 6 to 10. Nothing to type, all session
- Warm-ups and cool-downs matched to the day's movements

Measured is not physical therapy and does not diagnose anything. Substitutions come from how movements load the body, not from clinical review. If something hurts, stop and talk to a professional.

ON YOUR WRIST
Start the workout on your phone and pick it up on your wrist. The Watch shows the weight and reps for the set you're on, logs your sets, runs your rest timer, and reads live heart rate.

YOURS, PRIVATELY
No account to create. No feed. Your training history lives on your device and syncs through your own iCloud. Crash and usage diagnostics are anonymous, and nothing you do here is tracked across other apps.

TRY IT FREE
Start with a 14-day free trial. After that, Measured is a monthly or annual subscription.

I built Measured during parental leave because, as a busy dad with a demanding day job, I wanted a real strength program without turning every workout into homework. It's the app I wanted to use myself.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-10

Warm-ups that fit the day. Your guided warm-up and the stretches that close a session are now chosen by the muscles that day's lifts work, so a leg day loosens your hips and legs, and an upper-body day your shoulders, chest and back.

Smoother sessions. On a superset, a quick double tap on the rating sheet no longer skips the second movement. A paused hold stays quiet at its old end time, and the lock screen says Paused. The rest screen shows the reps you just logged beside the weight, a movement's written cues sit above its demo clip, and the session overview counts supersets.

On Apple Watch, each of the last five seconds of a rest taps your wrist, and GO is three quick taps. The hold screen shows which set you're on.

Clearer weights. A two-dumbbell movement reads "25 lb each", one-sided work says "per side", a band movement says "Band", and "Weights you'll need" counts how many of each dumbbell to set out.

Programs that follow your week. Setup suggests programs that fit the days and minutes you give it. Reminders and program notes name the session instead of a day of the week, so they read right whichever days you train. A weight raised in a deload week is kept, adding heavier dumbbells lets a lift that had topped out climb again, and a workout saved after a crash keeps its program day and where you were training.

Also in this version: Just Exercise is now Build a workout, and the two program options are Get a personalized program and Build your own program. The rest-day card on Today says what you did and can be put away. The Weekender no longer calls its second back-to-back day a rest day. A swap you make on a movement the app substituted now takes effect.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-01

Meet Week in Review. Every Sunday evening, Measured sends a short summary of your week. Tap it for a review of what you trained and what moved up. Weekly summaries are now on for everyone; you can turn them off in Me, under Weekly Summary.

More control during a workout. A new Options menu lets you change where you're training, add equipment, see today's plan or send feedback without leaving the session. Ending early is clearer: tap End to save what you've done, or stop without saving. You can now fix a logged set's weight as well as its reps, and the fix carries to the sets still to come.

Home gyms, described properly. Tell Measured about your barbell, its weight, your plates, a squat rack and a bench, and barbell weights come from the plates you own. Programs are no longer hidden because of your equipment: barbell programs are listed for everyone and say what a home setup needs. If you train at home with dumbbells, gym machines and the barbell bench press are swapped for dumbbell movements you can do, like the floor press.

Weeks that end properly. When you finish a week, Today, Program and Progress show the week you just completed instead of an empty new one. The widget and the watch complication name the session you did.

Also in this version: deload weeks now follow one rule in every program (a deload comes after a hard phase, and never in a program's final week), so several programs have fewer or different deload weeks. Build a workout offers only the dumbbells you own. More of the app scales properly at the largest text sizes. Weights say "lb" everywhere, and half-pound weights show as 17.5 lb.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-21

Version 1.1 re-envisions how your program is presented. Instead of tying sessions to days of the week, Measured now offers your workouts in a queue. You progress through them in order so that your next session is always one tap away, regardless of what days you can train in a given week.

The Program tab lists your upcoming sessions. You can follow Measured's recommended order or skip around if it makes more sense for your week. Finished work still lives in Log and Progress.

Measured's programs also got an upgrade. Each program offers bodyweight options so that you can stay on track even when you don't have access to your usual equipment. Pick Bodyweight for a session, and Measured rebuilds it with movements that do the job that session was built for.

While Measured has always integrated deload weeks, they're now easier to anticipate, and the app enables you to opt out of any of them.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-10

Swapping a movement became much simpler. You can now browse the full movement library when you swap, with the closest matches first, so you can pick a movement that targets a similar muscle group or customize the program to your specific goals. Swapping is also no longer permanent: you can swap movements for your current program or disable movements you never want Measured to suggest.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-08

Weighted holds. Side planks and suitcase holds can carry a dumbbell now, and the weight climbs as you get stronger. If you can't finish a hold, there's a way to tell the app so it adjusts instead of pushing you.

More exercise demos. Short clips showing how a movement is done now reach more of your program, warm-ups and cool-downs included.

Layout fixes to the pre-workout list.
