Wenn man das Ding nur einmal am Jahr braucht, ist es zu teuer, aber ich habe es für Geometriefiguren benutzt die völlig verschoben sind die kann man in der Fläche berechnen vom Foto aus was bis jetzt bei keiner einzelnen App geht, die ich kenne. Allerdings wie gesagt, der Preis gefällt mir nicht pro Woche. Ansonsten prima App.. ich hab Gott sei Dank eine Ersatzprogramm gefunden. Auf Nimmerwiedersehen. Ich hätte gute Lust, das Ersatzprogramm hier hin zu schreiben, weil die Preisunterschiede gewaltig sind. Ich hatte eigentlich nur ein Programm gesucht und Flächenberechnung vorzunehmen. Auf einem Blatt Papier bei Photomath, zum Beispiel alles andere benutze ich sowieso nicht. Für die anderen Funktionen, die bei diesem Programm noch dabei sind, habe ich genug Ersatz. I apparently “ subscribed” at a cost of over $700 per year. I am not a novice and I know these apps give you a free trial and then automatically begin billing you. I am very careful not to subscribe but it seems not careful enough with this ripoff company. So I went on the app and, guess what, there is no tab to “ manage subscription” or try to cancel. I have been reduced to emailing them asking how to cancel. Meanwhile they will attempt to bill me tomorrow for another week. I don’t know anything about the capabilities of the app but I cannot trust a developer who clearly makes its money via dishonest and manipulative practices. Admittedly the long loading time, ads, and the fact that I had to switch from centimeters to inches every single time I opened it was annoying, but not a huge deal. However now there is no longer an option to measure inches apparently. It’s just gone. When I try to select a unit of measurement, it opens a drop down that only has ONE option, which is centimeters. I get centimeters being the default upon loading, but I can’t fathom why the developers would remove the inches option entirely. Regardless, I guess I’m going to have to find another app. Edit: Also just noticed that when doing a 2d ruler (as in measuring both length and width), the width measurement at the bottom is covered up by the new options button layout. The app has now been updated and works as before. Happy to up my rating. Pure random chance I opened it today before going to delete. I used to use this lots for all kinds of hobby measurements. The ruler itself was fantastic and the AR options were quite useful. Now it is useless. When the ruler is displayed each centimetre is only 6.5mm in reality. Initially I thought I had a problem with my phone but I’ve tried it on 4 separate iPhones and 2 iPads and they are all giving inaccurate measurements. Some say it measures a bag at twice its size. This just shows they did not follow the instructions or maybe not even read them. I’ve used this app to successfully take pictures of antique furniture when out shopping and accurately measure its size (yes you also get to keep the picture of the items with added dimensions if you want). The KEY factor is you must have the reference object in EXACTLY the same plane, ie orientation and distance away, as the object you wish to measure. In my case a writing slope. Ideally for best accuracy choose the reference to be as close in size as possible. Then carefully position the reference markers on the photo (the app gives you a nice zoomed in view to do this accurately) and add dimension lines which act just like auto dimensions on a CAD program. Just to test I placed a debit card on an A4 sheet of paper and these were the results. A4 sheet 295.2 x 209.6 mm. True size 297 x 210mm. Accurate to within 1% !! There are other similar apps that work the on the same principle but this one has an elegant user interface (UI). ### 5/5 — Best free measuring app *2020-04-06, version 1.2.11* This is the third app I tried out and it’s the only one that I could measure in inches with a simple on-screen ruler for free. ### 5/5 — Does its job *2020-01-12* Dont understand why the other popular ruler app has so many more downloads while making you pay money to measure in inches. This one isn't fancy and it has some ads, but it lets you do pretty much anything you would want to (in inches!) for free. Also has a nice slider system to accurately measure a small object that you place on the screen. It helped in a pinch when I needed to measure something small and did not have a ruler on hand. I almost always have my phone and I don’t carry around a ruler.
