The Drag and Drop programming is great but, at the same time, not too good. It's great because it is easy to drag and drop to create programs you can store in the APP. However, I created a complicated program that takes 30 minutes to load in the APP before "running" or editing. As you add more drag and drop icons on the screen to connect, the slower the APP gets to the point where it takes 15 minutes to conncect two of the icons together. I'm using a fourth generation iPad, which is certainly not the latest and fastest, but not the oldest either. We put new batteries in Meccanoid yesterday, used it just a little bit, and after waiting for the program to load in the APP(30 minutes), Meccanoid said the batteries were too low to execute the program. I can't leave Meccanoid off until the program loads on the APP, because the APP MUST connect to Meccanoid PRIOR to loading any saved programs. So Meccanoid just sits using up its battery as the program loads. There is also no way to transfer programs (stored as files within the APP) from one iPhone to another. If I could transfer the program onto my new iPhone, perhaps it would load faster. To use the drag and drop programming, you really do need an iPad, since the screens on any other Phone (even the plus size) is way too small to program anything more than a tiny program that does very, very little. So, I'm really disapointed with the combination of Meccanoid and the APP (even though the APP works for me). Three stars for the APP, one star for the overall combination of the two. ### 1/5 — Waste of money *2017-03-20, version 2.1.2* App is absolutely horrible. Tutorial takes a very long time to get through. Drone mode also doesn't work with the app so you cannot rebuild the Meccanoid into something new. Online it says you can but they have changed the app so it no longer supports drone mode. I would highly recommend you do not purchase this robot if you read this. Much better integration with other robots on the market. ### 1/5 — Take away the coach! *2017-03-10, version 2.1.2* This app has a decent suite of features but the coach is extremely annoying. And there are no settings, at all! But mainly, after start it goes in training more, which is annoying and takes forever. The expectation was I can use software to command the robot. If this is a problem with the battery, it may be that the battery is too small to handle Bluetooth connections. Please fix, I recommend new battery as separately sold item, as a Bluetooth connections upgraded battery to handle the Bluetooth connections load. Thank you, and please fix this problem! Everything worked as it should and "Bob" is cruising around the house. I did leave it scanning forever without connection but on the top of the app you need to click the name on top and than click connects after that, perfect. There is a steep learning curve and it will take time to learn how to use it. For Devs: my kids get little use of the app. If I may offer a use case for new feature... 1. A separate mode where the app doesn't record (i.e. run out of record time). My kids like using the app to make Meccanoid move in real-time. When record length reaches maximum, they are forced to create a new file or scrub back to overwrite.
