### 3/5 — Fun game, loot box ain’t great

*2023-09-15*

First, I’d like to start off with this game is extremely fun. Every weapon and Mech is countered by something else and is balanced to the point where it always has a pro and con. The devs also listen to feedback from the community (which is a welcome change to devs who pretend to listen and continue with their tyrannical paths) and are constantly tweaking things to always revolve around fun instead of pay to win aspects. Now the con, the loot box inside the game that is opened using power cells. Power cells can either be picked up from enemy/ally destroyed mechs or bought if you want to support the devs/company. The issue I have is that after I bought 1000 power cells I found out it’s possible to win EVERYTHING inside the loot box from one pull. Everything has its own percentage bases chance of winning, however, none of the items chances are 100%. So if you were unlucky like me, you’ll only win 1 item. However, I also won nothing from a free pull from power cells I collected while playing the game. How is this a thing? How is it possible that you might spend $10 on power cells with a chance, albeit small, to not win anything? The highest percent chance of winning something is 60% chance to win 25 platinum. For $2-3 worth of power cells you’re telling me we might not get anything? Why would I buy it then? Small rant, fun game, awesome devs, weird loot crate system. Oh and some weapons can’t be aimed at all and are useless like heavy lasers.

### 4/5 — Enjoyable game needs some tweaks

*2020-07-26, version 4.1.5*

Need the ability to lock a target, too often the auto aim changes to the nearest bot, of course that bot is full health. Want to continue to attack the bot I started with.

As you level up it seems power cell counts decline

Matching making is reasonable so far, occasionally I am mopped up by much stronger players

The hanger weighted system is odd, same costs for upgrades regardless of Mech/weps size, light, med, heavy

Need target lock feature
Need to condense the summary screen, just takes too long to get back to the games
Needs a game style priority option, full death match no teams, is bogus the way you are spawning
Need to handle disconnects betting waiting minutes for a player to be remove is no fun, or the player comes back suddenly and ambushes you, yuck

Fun game, reasonable prices, fair playing field.

### 4/5 — I want to give it 5 stars...

*2020-06-03, version 4.1.5*

...but I can’t. This is a nice game and has great potential. Sadly there are missteps that create issues. There is a prominent display of “contact us, we listen” with no in-game way of contacting the company. I have looked extensively with no luck. Searching for a clan is near impossible if you don’t have the exact clan tag you want to find. A targeting reticle would be nice or some type of brackets to show where you need to be to in order to shoot an enemy. Targeting while in jump is poor, current targeting systems in today’s military works better and this game is supposed to take place in the future. Graphics are extremely blocky.

With some improvements this game could dominate the pvp battle mech genre.

### 4/5 — Tiny screen, BIG HANDS!!

*2020-03-23, version 4.1.4*

Hey, this game is great. Love the layout, the mechanics and the upgrade system. Plenty of options for loadouts and tactical gameplay.
You are quite generous in terms of plat/gold for match rewards; with a little bit of farming and an ounce of skill the player can earn fast. The ad placements are perfect; they’re only there to make us play the game MORE and level up FASTER instead of BOMBARDING us and WASTING our time. You guys have done a spectacular job on the overall build and gameplay.

My two grudges are against the random quickplay matches (where my low lvl self gets stomped 6 matches in a row before another mode is selected) and the MAJOR ISSUE against the tiny UI that I can neither calibrate nor resize. I play on a 5S (small screen) and have fairly large manhands so it makes for trouble when I’m trying to fire my Towmak off the left shoulder and end up launching it, a burst of Justice and a laser blast cuz the button is tiny and my huge thumb missed and pressed the main fire control.

I’d like to select my PvP mode, but enlarge the control interface and you’ll have a well-earned 5-star rating.

### 3/5 — Good, but...

*2019-12-11, version 4.0.7*

Very playable system, well balanced, with only a few issues. It seems everyone hates the high parabola missile, and they do ruin gameplay, but a minor issue. The biggest issue is even with my WiFi maxed, the connection freezes and boots me from combat constantly. This is so common, that every match has had at least one person freeze and get booted. I minimized the graphics but it still drags the game down by interrupting a match that was going well. The other hiccup is the view. The vertical is stiff, but playable. It makes a challenge out of dodging and reacquiring your target. Overall, if they fix the connectivity this would be a 6 star game.

### 5/5 — Fun game, great service

*2019-11-09, version 3.4.1*

Relatively new to the game, but not gaming. A few mechanics I feel could be improved such as spawning locations and better tutorial explanations. Otherwise, a lot of fun to play.

That being said, total 5 stars for the awesome in-game support. While having a problem upgrading a Mech (aforementioned tutorial conflict), I reached out in global chat for help. Many of the chat community immediately replied to assist, and then within minutes Dev. Robert was on helping me out. The prompt and efficient “digital” hands-on service was fantastic. He quickly identified the issue and resolved my problem. I see a lot of comments complimenting the devs for their attention and responses to player requests and feedback, and I can attest to their excellence in this. A really great experience after playing numerous amount of games seeing players being ignored by game staff.

### 5/5 — Go GREAT TO "INCREDIBLE" ! ! ! ( it's possible ).

*2019-10-22, version 3.1.2*

Your game 'Mech Battle', DjinnWorks, is in my heart. It outlets my adrenaline, satisfaction "extreme". I have stopped playing now and am feeling a great loss. I have realized that once I reach 'Level 10', CHOICES will have ended, my Mechs AND weapons are perfected and my ability to utilize them will be lousy based upon the restrictions of artificial interface control disadvantages. My hand-eye coordination (dexterity), choices of Mechs AND weapons and the "luck" of battle will be nearly predetermined. I want the first feeling of a GREAT adrenaline "rush" to be refreshed, returned to me and always be there when I play your "awesome" game.
Thank you!

### 4/5 — Good game

*2019-10-10, version 3.1.0*

Although this is repetitive like other mech fighting game, it’s not as boring. Although it does get very expensive leveling up the mech and weapons but I can see why. Basically they want you too be a VIP member which gives you better reward. But I am patient and could care less if lose a battle or not, of course I prefer to win. Really my only suggestion is that when you are upgrading a mech or a weapon...the cost of gold to instantly upgrade should decrease the more hours you wait. Say if it cost 60 gold to upgrade a mech instantly that would normally take 4 hrs, if the upgrade is already on it’s 3rd hour, then the cost of gold should also cost a third less meaning it should only cost 15 gold instead of 60 to speed up the upgrade. Otherwise, I like the game better than War Robots and Mech Wars.

### 5/5 — War Robots replacement

*2019-09-21, version 2.5.5*

I’m an ex War Robots player. I’m so done with Pixonic. Mech Battle is what War Robots should have been.

Battles are intense, the game is challenging without having a screwed over economy, and you can upgrade more than one thing at once. All weapons have a 100m range which at first might sound pretty boring until you realize that no one will be obliterating you in 2 shots from the other side of the map (looking at you WR). There’s a pretty good selection of different bots and weapons.

Battle rewards are substantial, it’s pretty easy to get resources to upgrade easily. The devs have recently added back abilities to bots that had been taken away before, good job devs! The developers also work pretty closely with the community, and a lot more so than Pixonic does with its player base.

More maps have been added recently, and the last review I had for this game, the graphics were worse. Fortunately the devs have been continuously improving the visuals.

The only real complaint I have is that all the bots are more or less the same default color.

Overall, great game with a lot of potential but some issues. Don’t ruin this game please.

### 3/5 — kiddie war robots & 1 drawback & 1 major problem!

*2019-08-29, version 2.5.5*

the best thing here is option of other camera views & has some cool graphics but everything else about this game is average. mech battle is now in the mix with battle of titans, mech wars, war robots, robot warfare, world of warfare robots, & tanks vs robots. mech wars & battle of titans are currently the 2 best mech games. i'd place this game 4th, right behind war robots (it kinda seems like a kiddie version of war robots).
one drawback - all stats on weapons seems to be 100m but it's not clearly stated on what weapons ranges are. but in a match i've been hit by some weapons beyond 100m. if the range for all weapons is truly 100m then the problem would be that a lighter bot has less of a chance against a heavier bot because you can't try long range. there's less strategy in use of weapons.
one major bad thing! i started playing this game about a week ago & i just updated the game. immediately i lost my whole inventory! i'm not sure if this has to do with me never signing-in but i never had a problem with this with any of the other mech games & not even with any other game for that matter. you shouldn't have to sign-in to keep your inventory, the update should recognize everything you have & just make the necessary changes to the game. this could be a deal breaker if this problem isn't fixed for future updates. so newcomers beware!

### 5/5 — Amazing game

*2019-07-23, version 2.3.1*

I’ve played a lot of mech games (wr, rw, bot, etc) and this has got to be one of my favorites. The game has a variety of bots and weapons to choose from, in which many can be easily obtained. The big plus is that this game is based purely on skill and not on the size of the wallet. Graphics aren’t the best, but they are far from the worst. One thing that takes time to get used to is the lock-on, which gets lost if you move just a little (if this could be changed, the experience would be much better for newer players). All in all, I’m really glad the devs of this game care about their players’ experience in the game.

### 3/5 — Not so happy about the “limiting factor up up grades”

*2019-06-20, version 2.1.6*

The limiting factor for upgrading weapons or mechs is a pay to play problem. Now if you want to upgrade more than on item at a time you have to spend your hard earned battle credits or pony up $$$ to use them on a up grade basis. The VIP is a great deal to support the game IMO. The deal and play is great.
I really hope you come out with more mission base adventure. You can find items or something along the way. Something where you hold territory even. Good luck keep going.

### 5/5 — Mech Battles

*2019-06-19, version 2.1.6*

This is an awesome game I’m looking forward to changes and new scenery what you’re doing to this game is awesome I think that it would be cool if you could put some robot sand it may have a flying ability Like your speed boost years every 10 seconds or you jump boost just like those only is able to fly that would be cool anywhere right this game 100% top notch game I love it very time consuming I love robot wars of any kind mostly this is my favorite

### 5/5 — Very Fun, Couple of Issues

*2019-06-13, version 2.1.4*

(UpdateD). Overall, this is a great game. Fun. Entertaining. Great graphics. Free. You do have the opportunity to spend money to purchase goodies (new mechs, new weapons, etc.), and as a nod to the developers, I did so. I don’t mind people making an honest dollar off of their effort, and this developer deserves a payday. They are responsive and updates come rapid fire. Spawning mechanic is suckish. You can be in a heated battle with one or more opposing mechs and an AI mech will invariably spawn directly behind you, putting you and in the crossfire and scrapping your mech. This doesn’t seem to be a glitch but rather is a feature, intentionally put there by the developer, since it happens multiple times in every match. Lesson: watch your back.

Early stages are fun. Matchmaking is mostly fair (level 1 players don’t take the field against level 20+), and you CAN play with no cost. Download it and enjoy blasting other players to pinwheeling chunks of debris. Spend a few bucks for goodies (in support of the developers). Just watch your back…the AIs will be spawning on your 6…constantly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — When is this game going to be updated?

*2022-03-11, version 4.1.6*

Played this game for almost a year, no updates and it is getting very very boring. Doesn’t matter how much money and time I spend on upgrades they always match you with Mechs that are better than you. Feels like they just want me to spend more money for upgrades but even if I do I can never get ahead. Just a scam?

It’s been a while since I posted the original review. The game doesn’t get updated. Game not only is getting boring but also frustrated. There are a lot of cheaters who use hacks that really are annoying and frustrating. Even though I report seems like nothing ever gets done about it.

### 1/5 — Unfair matchups

*2019-09-17, version 2.5.5*

Have loved playing this game but now it seems like matchmaking is all messed up. I an level 24 or 26 and am being matched with all Level 60’s. They shoot me a few times I’m dead and I dont even phase them. Please fix matchmaking. Should be no more than 5-10 levels difference. Until then....you get no more of my money or time!

Update.....please fix matchmaking! I haven't won a game since I am always paired against at least two but usually more level 60 and above. I have 5 level 8 and up mechs with weapons at same levels. I run through my mechs and then see that most of the level 60 and up still have 3-4 mechs left. This is a very unfair game now. What happened? It wasnt like this before! At least it was competitive. Now at level 25, i am battling all level 10 mechs and weapons. No chance! I have spent money on this app to help support it, but I am do e until this is fixed!

### 1/5 — Lost all My Data after the last Update.

*2019-07-10, version 2.3.1*

last Update deleted ALL MY PROGRESS DATA!
Besides the horrible Learning curve and less than simple User Interface I was doing well and leveling up fast. I went from being the 'What's going on? Guy' to leading My team in Capture the flag and team domination. Then, 2 or 3 weeks ago, the developers Nerfed everything, calling their adjustments FAIR and game-Balancing. Like, the 'multiple Upgrades at the same time' was Nerfed to One at a time, because, you know, people that win and play a lot earn more Credits so they can Upgrade their Mechs 'FASTER', IS JUST NOT FAIR! Boohoo! Then I hit level 12, and started to play less. Then, this LAST UPDATE; ALL OF MY DATA AND PROGRESS Got Wiped! So now I haven't posted at all! Also, I even spent like $15 or more in the game! SMH... I'm done! HELLO DJINN??? Where are you to fix this!?!!???!!!??

### 1/5 — Not a true competitor for War Robots (or even BoT)

*2019-04-23, version 1.4.11*

Maps are smaller, less players in each match, and games end very quickly. I don’t really prefer this as it makes the winning team seem to be a coin toss. (Less time to play means matches are more unpredictable, and you have less control over the ending, due to things happening so quickly)

Drop-in location seems to be random. There is 4v4 team battles (with beacons) and 8 player FFA. Cannot choose which mode(happens at random). The randomness of the drop-in locations hinders teamwork and strategy to a vast degree.

Game is not equipped with any ‘lock-on’ button. So you must keep crosshairs on enemy to see their health. This is very aggravating, especially when enemies are clumped together.

Currency seems to be in vast supply, but I haven’t played long enough to see if it gets worse overtime (which is usually the case). But skins for the mechs seem to be unreasonable.

The one thing this game has that others don’t, is the ability to switch from 3rd person, to 1st person, to over-head view. This is very cool and gives a totally different perspective of the battle. Unfortunately, this is the only feature that other competing Mech games don’t offer.

Overall, I am not impressed in any way and will be going back to War Robots. This game doesn’t have anything to truly offer me that I can’t find in a different Mech game, other than the camera angles, and that’s not enough to be a deal-maker.

### 1/5 — DON’T PAY FOR ANYTHING

*2019-04-15, version 1.4.11*

The EXTREME NERFING that the ATLAS just took (making it far less competitive without jump given how slow it is) with ZERO REIMBURSEMENT FOR THOSE THAT PAID 5000 GOLD BEFORE THE NERF FOR EACH IS PRETTY LOW....For the record, it is $19 for 3000 gold, making an atlas $30...beware, do not spend money as you have zero idea what the final outcome is going to be with your investment....especially if it is in the currency that can be bought with real $$$. Changing a feature in such a big way as COMPLETE REMOVAL is a poor decision. Maybe make it a unidirectional (chosen at takeoff) instead of the steerable flight or drop a little armor....change one med slot to a light, etc....or, reimburse those that have them in some way

Also, AI for the massive number of bots ( on average 1-3 real people besides me in a match) is a joke. They walk in a straight line and generally only attack after being attacked. THE ONLY THING THEY DO CONSTANTLY IS PICK UP ENERGY CELLS, HURTING ACTUAL PLAYERS. YOUR AI IS A JOKE.

Matchmaking is even worse than WR....player base is a joke, I play against the same 10-15 people always and “fair” fights are rare. Frequently outlevelled by 20-30 levels....

I don’t speak German, but apparently “Mech battle” translates as “incompetent copycats”...

### 1/5 — Fun but already dominated by WR refugees

*2018-12-26, version 1.1.4*

Already dominated by meta-build, will soon be dominated by the incoming clans, and already political and dominated by a few strong personalities from WR. Fun to play as a time killer but I suggest spending your time and money elsewhere.
I came to this game looking for an option to war robots. It was fun for a while but now they’ve gotten a few players it’s clear that it’s already dominated by the clan runners from WR. The Dev’s are either those same clan leaders or are in the clan leaders pockets as any new developments seem to fall along with the request they make. If you make a suggestion on their Facebook page or forum they don’t like you are banned.

### 2/5 — Buggy and poorly balanced gameplay

*2023-02-17, version 4.1.6*

This game does not deserve the 4 or 5 stars people give it. Too many bugs and poor game balance keep this from being a really good game. Some things don’t work consistently (e.g. capturing flags) and on occasion it just crashes. I’ve been hung up as the only player in the game where it thinks a component is still alive and the game will not correct it’s status. There are also cheats/flaws where a player can slip into features in the landscape and can shoot out while being shielded from any incoming fire. Game play is also not balanced, and at more advanced levels certain configurations of mechs in the hands of experienced players are completely dominant. This game needs work!

### 2/5 — Good... but issues

*2021-02-17, version 4.1.6*

First I have to say I like and play this all the time. It’s far better than the other Mech game that is very much pay-to-play. Even if you pay with this game you only get access to the improved mechs faster, and those aren’t overpowered.
My big issues are...
1. Aiming is awful. Sometimes the auto-aim works, sometimes not. There is no way to tell where you need to aim to get a lock sometimes. Then when you do lock on and loose it you can’t manually aim. The aim issue seems to be worse as of last update.
2. There hasn’t been a significant update in more than a year. No new maps. No new mechs. No new weapons. Nothing.
3. The communication system is garbage. People like Apexboy spam public chat constantly (reporting players spamming should be an option), direct messages get missed because of this, and the inbox always shows there are 7 mail messages (we should be label to mark them read).
4. It has a reporting system for hackers and cheats, but they don’t pay attention to the reports. A couple of the problems are players constantly disconnecting and player hiding in location not intended to be ( inside walls and scenery), but no matter how often these players are reported no action is taken. A person who has 3000 disconnects should not still be playing.
If these issues were fixed I’d easily rate this game as 5 stars, but as of now these easily correctable issues are really annoying.

### 2/5 — Cheating lag switchers: not fun anymore

*2020-07-30, version 4.1.5*

Its absolutely ridiculous that nobody can hit certain players because their inconsistent lag is causing them to glitch all over the place. The fact that some people just so happen to lag conveniently when you have them cornered makes it obvious that people are using this to cheat just like they do on xbox. (Lag switching) This game doesn't seem to do anything about grouping ppl’s lag together like the consoles do. It just lets the cheaters and the poor connections win. Keeps it from being fun for honest players.

### 2/5 — All Atlas & Zerk hangers kind of ruins it

*2019-05-06, version 1.5.1*

Edit: everyone just plays with the same Mech and it’s starting to not be about fun anymore. I still like the game and play it everyday but just one or 2 game because I can’t go a round without someone being stationary with 5 of the same mechs with the same weapon layout..it’s just idk man. If the devs see this review what do you guys think about making it to where you can’t have multiple of the same Mech?

I’ve been a long time player of War Robots way before they got bought out and was very disappointed with their constant changes and pay2win gig and stopped playing since October 2017. THIS GAME!! Mech Battle!! Has won me over a million times! It gives me that nostalgia feeling but with something new and fast paced. The graphics are good and they give us the option for better performance or visuals and it doesn’t drain my battery or make it hot after long hours or play (or at least as hot as WR did during a single game). I don’t know what else to say I’ve had played this game every chance I get, the only thing I would recommend they had is a lock on and that’s bout it.

**Developer response:** All Atlas or Zerk hangar is long gone since introducing a lot more game balancing chances like new maps, new game modes, etc... requiring much more usage of light mechs

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing game. The issues

*2022-08-23, version 4.1.6*

Well for starters (who may be thinking of downloading the game)the controls and the tutorial are very very simple and easy to learn the mechs are fitting to each rank you go through one of the only downsides is the higher rank mechs COST ALOT (not real money btw) for example I’m on rank 15 and on rank 16 you gut a lot of stuff including getting the atlas the best Mech in the game(in my opinion) it costs 5000 platinum witch is way to much and the ultimate crate isn’t that reliable. So I’ve been saving my platinum for over 2 months since rank 13 and I only have around 3000
so it’s almost making you pay for platinum with real money so developers if you could lower the price of higher ranking mechs just a little (especially the ones that cost platinum) that would be great still 5 stars though

### 5/5 — Best app I’ve ever seen

*2021-09-02, version 4.1.6*

Right when I started this game even when I looked at it I knew it was going to be awesome so I download it I put a couple around I was boring at first but then I found out how to unlock robots so I went and unlocked some then I just had to find out what else I did so I snooped around for a bit I found tons of things I mean tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons and tons I got so bored when I did it but it was worth it I have the best robots on there now there is a VIP but you have to pay for it You can pay for it seven days 20 days or 365 days it’s really awesome please get this game

### 5/5 — It's Awesome , but I have data problems

*2021-06-10, version 4.1.6*

Hi there ! I've been playing mech battle since a year now but there was a glitch recently yesterday and I couldn't play it .. it kept on connecting .So I had to delete the app and installed it again with the hope that I could restore game account I had earlier but I forgot the password .. I was on a higher level and had upgraded everything. Help me , how could I restore my previous account :( ?

### 5/5 — Best Mech game out there

*2021-03-30, version 4.1.6*

This game is so much better than any of the other mech games I have tried. Upgrades make a difference and don’t take forever. You can build your mechs up without spending money if you want. I have spent a little just because I am impressed with the game and think its worth rewarding the creators. I would definitely recommend this game!

### 5/5 — This Is The Best One

*2021-01-11, version 4.1.6*

After playing multiple build your robots player vs player type games, I’ve come back to Mech Battle without any hesitation or regret. 4v4 is the right number for exciting gameplay. The platform itself runs very smoothly even with questionable data connections. The build costs, time vs reward, and game power balance are all better than the others. The build options themselves are just right; less complex and painstaking compared to games like War Robots, where the builds get so complex and expensive that “pay to win” becomes a huge factor. At the end of the day all the other mech games become arduous and unrewarding. Mech Battle is intrinsically more fun because the gameplay never fails to get your heart pumping.

### 5/5 — Great! Needs a little freshening up.

*2021-01-02, version 4.1.6*

Love this game. This game is straight forward, earn in game currency and buy things I’m happy to buy Platinum and Energy Cells because they haven’t gone the way other mech games have with buying blueprints, etc. (I’ve deleted a lot of games or simply stopped playing them for that reason).

I’d really love to see the game spruced up a bit more regularly, and perhaps The addition of a modifier slot to add a marginal speed boost, etc.

Thanks for a great game that I love playing!

### 5/5 — Need to fix spawns!!!!! Love the game tho

*2020-10-11, version 4.1.5*

In last Mech standing it’s annoying when you just spawned and you’re engaged with one Mech and then you spawn another enemy in the same location seconds later. I’ve even had someone’s Mech spawn 1 second after mine and his Mech landed on top of my cause I didn’t even have time to move yet.
Other than that the game is pretty good. Maybe add a manual lock function so when guys are close to each other you can aim at the enemy you want to

### 5/5 — Just what I have been missing

*2020-05-28, version 4.1.5*

Mech Battle is reminiscent of the early days of WR when it was still WWR. If you want to be a wallet warrior you can, but there is not a single mech or weapon in this game that cannot be purchased by playing and earning the resources to purchase it. If you want to be impatient, fine. Break out the wallet. If you want to play for free, fine. You can become a dominant player without ever spending a dime. I honestly believe this game was developed by people who were WR players and got sick of all the clutter and obvious money grabs. This is just pure skill, strategy, and destruction.

### 5/5 — It's my go to game, but it needs some QOL changes to make it better.

*2020-04-16, version 4.1.4*

First and foremost, this game needs and better targeting system. It is super sensitive, and there is also no lock on, which makes it very annoying when you have large groups of enemies and you target someone you don't want to hit. This is especially bad when you are on higher elevation than your enemy, and you can barely hit it. But on a more positive note, this really reminds me of pre-war robots days, when the games were actually fun, so I thank the developers for that.

### 5/5 — Great mech game that’s not pay to play

*2020-01-11, version 4.1.0*

Good maps/gameplay. Weapons and mech types are pretty versatile, and the resource grind seems to have a good pace. I also appreciate the battery saver graphics options, which prevents your phone from heating up too much. Recent updates have make it even easier to progress without paying money, by more adequately balancing the mech/weapon types to prevent “twinking”.

All-around fun game.
