### 3/5 — Metric Units

*2017-08-23*

This would be very useful if it was produced in metric.

### 3/5 — Ok but I expect more from a pay app

*2011-05-31*

Great selection but only useful for education if it has the actual formulas. Would be great to also have more information on units required, or even better the ability to enter in the units you have available for each variable and have the app do the conversions. After all the point of a computer is to compute!

### 2/5 — SI Units Please

*2010-03-05, version 0*

Disappointed by this App on the whole it does not give an option to use any particular units. I simply expected it to allow unit system selection as an option - just seems like a minimum functional requirement to me.

Converting inputs and outputs by hand is not attractive. Imperial equations dominate but there are some metric equations. I believe this factor should be outlined on the iTunes store page for the App. I also expected more from the formula definitions - Not the full derivation but at least a description of the final equation. As an example the definition of 'Bearing Life Hours' is 'This formula calculates the bearing life in hours' - It then describes the two input parameters but is hardly a definition. This can be much improved - Global Unit selection is a must. - Waiting patiently.

### 2/5 — Good Start

*2009-09-30*

This is the better of the engineering apps I have found. The GUI is lacking as well as the content.

Suggestions:
•Add algebraic expressions
•input fields should have several units to choose from
•MORE CONTENT such as a definition section
•The HVAC app content created by the same company should be in this mechanical engineer app.

Hope to see the promised updates. Will change rating as the app improves

### 3/5 — It's a start

*2009-09-19*

Like others said, I would like to see an algebraic expression for the formula under "formula definition." That way, we can better understand which input yeilds direct porportionality, inverse porportionality, etc. The wordiness in the "formula definitions" is confusing, and not very clear. Overall the idea of this app is great, though.

### 2/5 — Oh well - win some lose some.

*2009-09-17*

App should show the actual formulas used. How about something to do with vibration?

### 1/5 — Could do better

*2012-03-01*

I have to agree with the first review.
No ability to change the units, and no formulas.
Hopefully there will be an update, until then this app is of no use to me.

### 1/5 — Not worth the money

*2011-01-23, version 3.1*

I don't mind paying for decent apps, but this one doesn't cut it. The author has coded it in imperial units, I guess oblivious to the metric system under which a good proportion of the planet (and any new engineering students) use.

The notation of some of the formulas leave a lot to be desired, as do the descriptions. If I have to take out my copy of Mark's to check the contents of this app, then it has failed.

Stupidly I bought two other apps from this vendor at the same time and they are all of similarly average quality.

Give it a miss until it gets a major overhaul.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2010-12-04, version 0*

Alas, many of the formulae are pointless "fillers" designed to make the formula count seem impressive - simple multiplications and divisions.

An example filler is "area of a square".

Not of much use to an engineer, eh?

### 1/5 — Too much money

*2010-06-06*

Very basic at this point for this kind of money. I'll change my review if promised updates come thru.

Checked update. Same review

### 1/5 — Programmer or Engineer?

*2009-09-19*

I have to wonder if this was produced by a programmer or engineer? At present it has poor implementation. It lacks two important features, no control over the units and not possible to view the formulae. I hope this changes, but without these features I find it unuseable.

### 1/5 — Save Your Money

*2009-09-17*

Very lame application. It's impossible to know the units of measurement for most results. Also the description of the formulas is virtually useless. Why not give the formula and define the variables including the units of measurement?!? There's much more wrong with this app, but I think you get the point. Save your money.

### 2/5 — It's ok

*2012-03-19*

It works well, but I wish it listed what the units are for each variable and answer and it would be nice to be able to see the equations. If I knew what it was like before buying it, I wouldn't have wasted the money.

### 2/5 — Incomplete

*2011-02-19*

Lacks GUI. Will not operate within a variety of units.

**Developer response:** Hello,
Mechanical Engineer has been completely rewritten from the ground up.
Please let us know if you have any feedback: support@multied.com

### 2/5 — Peter

*2010-10-18, version 0*

It appears this app is written for the imperial market and not the metric there should be a mention of this.

Please change dimension input from cm to mm. Also in setting you should be able change units from imperial to metric or vice versa.

There is a lot of equations but also a lot of room for improvement.

### 2/5 — Units

*2010-03-06, version 0*

You need to include the units you desire for the formula inputs....some are useless unless you know this. Also, show the formulas you are using to calculate these answers.

### 5/5 — Best app for mechanical engineers

*2023-11-25*

As an engineer I can say that this app is have for all mechanical engineers!

### 4/5 — Great app, but need to be updated to 11 iOS

*2018-01-22*

Great app, but need to be updated to 11 iOS

**Developer response:** Hello,
Thanks for using Mechanical Engineer,
We are happy to let you know that Mechanical Engineer has been completely rewritten and supports the latest iOS!

### 4/5 — Almost got it

*2011-05-24*

I feel this app has many good things in it. The lack of easily understood units when entering values was the only bad part about this app.

### 4/5 — Mechanical Engineer

*2010-05-11*

This app contains a great number of useful mechanical calculators and references. It would be improved with more attention to units, but if the person using these calculators is already aware of the units attached to the input numbers, the results are quite useful.

### 4/5 — Ayrz jr

*2009-12-10, version 0*

Good app for a tradesman. Should have the actual fomulas shown so you can use as reference when you can't take your iPhone with you. Hopefully more formulas on the way. Worth the money

### 4/5 — Good for students

*2009-11-03*

This app contains essential information
For Mechanical Engineering students
These informations help you to design in a mechanical way

### 4/5 — Great reference for an ME

*2009-09-02*

Lots of useful calculators. Needs a bit more flexibility in calcs and a more efficient UI or menu navigation. Otherwise, a very good app!

### 4/5 — Not bad!

*2009-08-25*

Not bad! Fluid flow and heat/mass transfer calculations would be nice!!!

### 3/5 — Need ios11 update

*2017-12-11*

This is a great app. Would have rated it 5 stars but with the new ios11 update I can no longer open this app. Hopefully there will be an update soon.

**Developer response:** Hello,
Thanks for using Mechanical Engineer,
We are happy to let you know that Mechanical Engineer has been completely rewritten and supports the latest iOS!

### 3/5 — Update for iOS 11!!!

*2017-11-22*

Yeah, please, since this is much more convenient to use than the alternatives.

**Developer response:** Hello,
Thanks for using Mechanical Engineer,
We are happy to let you know that Mechanical Engineer has been completely rewritten and supports the latest iOS!
