Vital signs appear every 5 minutes when they should appear every minute, if not, every second. The amount of VAA appears every 15 minutes in addition to the ETCO2, ventilator settings, and temperature. Definitely a cheap and very poorly designed application. Epic is far superior in regards to quality and safety. 1/10 overall. ### 1/5 — You will hate your life *2024-09-20* Trust me, you will despise this software. The main drawback is that it is excruciatingly slow. When you complain, medaxion will blame it on your wifi. But wait, I use my own data plan with this app, the same internet provider that can play a YouTube video in half a second. The problem is on medaxion’s end. They need to spend $$$ upgrading things but of course they don’t want to do it. They’d rather keep the money and let the users suffer. A constant source of frustration, day in and day out, that interferes with my ability to do my job. ### 1/5 — Inconsistent, Unreliable, Frustrating *2024-08-21* Of all the “computer” based softwares I have used for charting an anesthetic record, this is without a doubt the worst. It frequently will not record entires made by the user into the chart. The user interface is not simple. The UI is not intuitive. There is zero customization. There is no indication of high priority items which should be taken into consideration. For example, allergies are a simple black font, the same as all other fonts on the software. In comparison, every other software highlights and bolds the allergies in bright red. This feels like a cheap piece of software. These are the complaints that 1st come to mind. It’s not worth the time to list every complaint/frustration. Please make thoughtful, intuitive changes to this app. For example, just let us customize the order of our intraoperative medications. Please. Lastly, asking for feedback might help guide the developers towards a more refined and sought after software. ### 1/5 — Very very slow like molasses in the wintertime *2023-07-19* Have been forced to use medaxion for years. They blame the slowness on hospital wifi issues, but it runs slowly no mater which hospital I’m at, and runs just as slow when I use my own LTE. The problem is on the medaxion end but I’m sure they don’t want to spend the money to upgrade so that we would actually have a usable product. ### 5/5 — Grreat application! *2023-03-14* Medaxion has transformed our workspace. Quality metric (tracking and reporting) so much better than any of the other emr‘s we‘ve tried. The best! ### 1/5 — Safety issue with this app *2023-03-05* This is the absolute worst EMR . Slow to load with lots of update issues. Too many things to input to do a quick case even with all the shortcuts our master users have added. Half the time I just write down my times and wait til I’m done with cases to finish charting. Try doing 15 very fast pain cases on Medaxion. I refuse to compromise patient care to do charting. Sorry but give me paper and a pen. I have yet to see a review above 3 stars on this site. Maybe the developers should re-evaluate an fix some of these problems. I’m hoping our group will switch to Epic or a better EMR ### 1/5 — What happened!!! *2023-02-02* Used to be a pretty decent EMR but since the last major update is riddled with bugs and errors. Might need to work out the kinks before releasing versions ### 1/5 — Liability waiting to happen *2022-08-04* This is probably a great advancement for facilities coming off of paper….But when you are required to change from a system that is efficient and user-friendly to a system which is subpar it becomes very frustrating. This system could NOT have been created by practicing anesthesia personnel. The program has great potential but the inflexibility of administration to make small changes that could make the system user-friendly Is disappointing & unfortunate…Not to mention the litigation potential that exist with the system as well. Only designed for charge capture in mind … definitely not for protection of the provider. I can only assume the reason this program has survived this long is because of its inside ties to the second largest healthcare corporation in America (HCA). ### 1/5 — Slow *2021-02-03, version 8.1.1* I have been working with this app for several years. The main drawback is that it is very slow. Significant latency issues. This is a real problem when you are trying to work quickly and are constantly delayed by having to wait for app to load data. ### 1/5 — Prison *2021-01-28* Whoever made us use this worthless app should be sent to prison. Just crashed again in the middle of a case, tech support just said to go to paper charting. It’s slow to load, slow to print, and add ons just make a lousy product even worse. Whoever gave it more than one star rating must have been drunk. No sane person would give it anything more.
