### 1/5 — WARNING to Medical Students

*2025-09-11*

I saw a video for this on TikTok, and was curious to give it a try. I’m a board certified pediatric oncologist, and I asked some very VERY basic questions that any hospitalist or oncologist should know.
Unfortunately this AI got every single question wrong, and cited outdated sources and is completely unaware of guidelines that have been in play for over 5 years. Any medical doctor can instantly recognize these wrong answers, but less discerning medical students trying to learn would easily be led astray. I find it extremely unethical for this company to advertise to medical professionals when it’s clear they themselves have not done their due diligence to ensure patient safety.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. MedDeep AI is designed solely for licensed healthcare professionals and is not a diagnostic tool or a replacement for professional judgment.

To ensure quality, we use a ranking system for medical literature that prioritizes reliable and authoritative sources. However, for certain queries, especially very specific ones, there may only be a limited set of papers available, and in those cases the system will display what’s accessible. All content shown is traceable back to published sources, and we encourage users to verify against the latest clinical guidelines and their own expertise.

We want to emphasize that MedDeep AI is strictly an educational and informational assistant for professionals, not for patients or medical decision-making. Your feedback is valuable and will help us improve. If you’d like to discuss further, please reach out to us at support[at]meddeep.ai.
