## What is meDecide?

You have already decided to stop. meDecide makes the decision stick.

Pick the apps you lose hours to. Pick how long you want them shut. That is the
whole app — except for one thing that makes it different from every other
blocker: once you have decided, you cannot undo it.

No undo. No snooze. No "just five more minutes". The block runs to the end of
the time you chose and releases itself.

WHY THAT MATTERS

The apps hardest to put down were built by people whose job was to make them
hard to put down. Endless feeds, unpredictable rewards, notifications timed to
pull you back. Against that, willpower is the wrong tool — it has to win every
few seconds, all day, forever.

A commitment device wins once. You make the choice in a calm moment, and it
binds the version of you that will want the apps back an hour later.

HOW IT WORKS

• Group the apps — "Social", "Games", whatever the pull actually is
• Choose how long — an hour of focus, an evening, a weekend
• Or set a schedule — every weekday 14:00 to 16:00, decided in advance
• The block holds until it expires, then releases itself

While a block runs you get a countdown on your Home Screen widget and Lock
Screen, so you always know exactly how long is left.

BUILT TO BE HARD TO CHEAT

• You cannot shorten a block, or remove apps from one that is running
• Changing your device clock does nothing — time is measured against a counter
  you cannot set
• Blocks are enforced by iOS itself, so they hold while meDecide is closed,
while your phone is asleep, and after a restart
• Adding time is always allowed. Taking it away never is.

PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION

meDecide has no account, no sign-up and no analytics. It collects nothing and
sends nothing anywhere, because it has nowhere to send it — everything stays on
your device.

iOS never tells meDecide which apps you chose. Apple's picker returns anonymous
references, so the app enforces your decision without ever learning what you are
blocking.

HONEST LIMITS

Deleting meDecide ends every block. No app on iPhone can prevent that, and this
one will not pretend otherwise. meDecide is a speed bump between you and a
habit, not a cage — enough friction to interrupt an impulse, not enough to stop
someone determined.

If your phone use is affecting your work, your sleep or the people around you,
please talk to someone qualified. This is a tool, not treatment.

Requires iOS 16.4 or later. Uses Screen Time (Family Controls) to block apps.
