## What is Medi?

Medi-Prompt is simply the best application for managing your medication schedules. Why can I say that? - Dynamic Scheduling!
Medi-Prompt is not just another alarm program. Tell it the max doses in 24 hours and the minimum time between doses and it will schedule the next dose taking those safety guidelines into account.
Let's look at a worked example. Tell Medi-Prompt that you need to take 4 doses starting at 8am and finishing at 8pm, and that the minimum time between doses is 3 hours. You take the first dose on time (8am) and it schedules the next dose at 12noon. You take that dose late at 1:30pm so instead of just saying that the next dose is at 4pm (as other 'alarm clock' apps would do) Medi-Prompt will schedule it at 4:45, spreading the remaining doses evenly and checking that the time between doses is still at least 3 hours.

Medi-Prompt will
 - remind you when your medication is due even when the app is closed
 - prompt you to take your pills whether on-line or not
 - schedule your meds to your requirements.
 - warn you if you exceed the safe dosage

Features:-
** Multiple patients
** Multiple medications (colour coded for easy identification)
** Five different scheduling methods (see 1)
** Set your own '1 off' reminders
** Daily pattern (2)
** Safe dosage check (3)
** Support for limited courses (4)
** Log (5)
** Configurable multiple prompts (6)
** Stock control (7)
** Undo facility (8)
** Easy to set up and use (9)
** Password protect (optional)

(1) SCHEDULING METHODS:-
AD HOC: (or PRN) No scheduling for this but still checks the safety limits.
TIMED DOSES: This allows you to set your own schedule of times during the day.
CALCULATED DOSES: You specify how many doses in the day and the first and last times and Medi-Prompt will dynamically schedule to spread the doses equally.
REGULAR INTERVALS: Specify the fixed interval between doses. If taken late, Medi-Prompt will reschedule the next dose maintaining that interval.
ALL METHODS use whatever safe dosage guidelines you set up.

(2) Set up a daily pattern for medication that should be taken, say, every other day, or 21 days on 7days off.

(3) WARNINGS will be given if doses are taken too close together or too many in 24 hours.
(3a) Meds will be scheduled to avoid taking too soon or too many.
(3b) Using Groups you can trigger warnings if meds in the same group are taken too frequently.
(3c) Reduce the risk of Medication Overuse Headaches by getting warnings if you take pain relief more than a given number of days in the month.

(4) Automatically stops scheduling when course is complete.

(5) The LOG is maintained so you or others can review which doses you took and when, which were accompanied by warnings and which were missed. You can add your own notes to each log entry (eg temperature). You can add your own log entries to record any other relevant events eg visit to the doctor. This log can be exported to your pc.

(6) PROMPTS (alerts) are fully configurable, with a choice of sounds and adjustable repeat times. They can also be silenced/delayed for a period (eg for a meeting).

(7) STOCK CONTROL is optional (but always free!) at both system level and for each medication, and will alert you when you need to order more.

(8) You can UNDO any Taken or Skipped entry. Go to the log, select the entry and click the trash can. Any such changes to the log will result in a recalculation of the medication schedules.

(9) Guidance notes appear when entering data for a new medication.

NO HIDDEN EXTRAS: Medi-Prompt is not a 'lite' version expecting to upgrade or buy more; and there are no adverts!

DISCLAIMER: Please note the following before you purchase:-
"Medi-Prompt is designed to help you schedule and track your medication. However, Medi-Prompt and its developers take no responsibility for the medication you take, when you take it, or the quantity you take."

### 5/5 — Extremely functional ...

*2025-04-12, version 2.32.5*

I came on today for a new pain app as this one keeps crashing and won’t allow me to add more medications.
I am so relieved to see this app will continue. Please when upgrading the app keep the safety function but allow me more medications.

I’ve been on pain medication for years and for as long as I can remember I’ve used an app to log my entries, I’m super careful because one of my medications can cause overdose extremely easily. However, I had an error where I took the wrong tablets because of having the same shape as the ones I intended to take (when you’re in as much pain as I am you just take them) and I went into potential OD danger. At the A&E they asked me a series of questions that made me realise I’ve often taken too many of this medication because of how I count my timings (I simply go from one day to the next and have even, very naively because I’m not stupid, waited for midnight to take some). We worked out that on some days I take up to four tablets more than I should (that’s 2000mg more than I should and for some people just 500mgs too much can be a problem). No wonder that, of late, my liver had become damaged. Hence, my search for an app that will monitor my 24 hour usage began. And the only one that I could find was this one. I have to say, I hate the interface and overall look, and I’d rather have PDF to email to my doctor. Plus I really don’t need to see the entries that I've deleted on this email record neither. But because it’s the only app I found that monitored my 24 hour usage I had to work with it, and because of lack of choice it has to be the best available. Oh and and another really excellent plus is that I emailed for assistance and customer service is excellent. The author responded really fast and gave a good detail of how to fix what I was struggling with. Thank you. The only reason I’ve dropped a star is because there’s no try out app, so it was a financial risk to try the app, and the interface and overall look isn’t stylish or to my liking. In fact, I think it’s pretty ugly but I do like how I can choose colours (I just don’t like the ones available). I will change my rating to 5 * once then option to email a pdf record, face login, and personal colours, are all available. And when it just looks cleaner maybe with a calendar option. These are just simple gripes because the app really does do what I need it to do and the owner is very responsive in helping out too.

### 5/5 — ‘Simply The Best’

*2023-07-30, version 2.32.5*

I have used this app for many many years, I was so afraid I wouldn’t be able to calculate my meds, times since Bob said he was retiring, I’ve looked at so many so called ‘Medication Apps’, but none have done what Medi-Prompt has done for me. I take 14 different meds a day, it takes care of me, 99° of the time. But quirky problem guys, the alarm doesn’t always sound when it should?? But I even use Clock alarm to give me two minutes ’Heads up’ to take tablets?? Bob wasn’t able to hear theproblems, he deserved his retirement, But something you can possibly look at? Like the song, Simply the best’ Medication App going. One thing, don’t change what ain’t broken guys! Thank you for saving Bob’s creation and I look forward to using it forever. Well, I’m now unable to launch - Medi Prompt , Every time I try to launch the app, it just crashes. You could have left us participating with the App, then make us switch over to the (I presume) a paid app if we wanted too! Give us some slack here guys, we rely on this app, to make sure we’re doing the right thing, when we should?????????? Thank you in anticipation. Fishing 1391

### 5/5 — Flexible and accurate

*2022-10-31, version 2.32.5*

I tried many medication apps before medi prompt. Medi prompt was the first I found that was flexible enough to allow scheduling based on the last time the medication was taken instead of putting in a scheduled time. I rely on it heavily for a complex series of medications, it is great.

### 5/5 — Medi-prompt

*2020-07-14, version 2.32.5*

Fantastic app ! Such a big help with managing medications. Sad to hear that there won’t be any further updates, but wish you a happy retirement. I wish I could program so it could continue.

### 2/5 — Great app and very useful BUT....

*2020-02-28, version 2.32.5*

It is spoiled by the reminder repeat alarm prompt. Can’t find a way to turn off this feature as the repeat alarm keeps going off after the medication dispensation time has been reached/passed and medications given to patient.
I have been unable to turn off the alarm and attempts to do so are met with a message the 0 (zero) seconds is not applicable. I wish to have the alarm alert me just once at the time meds are due and do not wish to have a repeat alarm “nag” me to (re-)administer the meds after the patient has been given their timed dosage.
Because of this “nag” I [sadly and reluctantly] have had to uninstall an otherwise excellent app. 😥😪

### 5/5 — My search is over

*2020-01-12*

There are many apps out there that look fancier but none of them are as flexible in options as this app. It may not look like much but it’s definitely functional. It covers just about every scenario of dosage you can think of. I’ve stuck by it for years. Thanks for sticking around.

### 5/5 — Mandy

*2019-12-08, version 2.32.5*

I’ve been using this app for years now and it is by far the best one available. Fully customisable drug entries and scheduling, comprehensive logs, and invaluable when asked “what medication are you taking?” By other health professionals.
To paraphrase, “does exactly what you want it to do”

### 5/5 — Outstanding!

*2019-03-06*

I’ve been using Medi-Prompt for several years now and I love it! I tried several others before discovering this one and none offered the capabilities of this one. I have a couple chronic conditions necessitating quite a number of medications on a regular basis as well as frequent rounds of short terms meds. This handles them all and reminds me when it’s time to take them. There’s a lot of flexibility built in and customer service is great. Definitely the app for medication tracking.

### 5/5 — Brilliant App 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 if used correctly

*2018-08-21, version 2.32.5*

I have been using this app now for almost a year. I had a brain injury many years ago and find it difficult to remember when I’ve taken tablets or when I next need to take them.
I’ve personally found this app invaluable. It’s become part of my life and I couldn’t be without it. It is quite in depth to set up initially, and took me a while to figure out, but of all the apps I’ve tried over the years this is the one that does the job.
It is a daily / hourly reminder when I must take meds, with alarms, as long as my phone is not on silent, and will warn me if I’m about to take a dose too soon, and even, if I set it that way, remind me when I need to order more. (Stock levels).
I can add in new meds or delete them. If I make a mistake and say I’ve taken something at the wrong time or the wrong med, logs can be deleted.
It’s been really useful also, as I record I can show the doctor, when attending as to how often I’ve needed pain meds.
My only reservation when recommending this app to any user, is it’s very comprehensive, and it will take a while to get the hang of, if you’re possibly older, or not as tech savvy as the young are these days. However, some might argue that that is a plus point - it being so comprehensive!
I most definitely recommend this app if you have a need to keep track of medication, and keep logs of what you take, when, and for what.
Definite 5 Star 🌟

To the developer - Please don’t stop supporting this app, despite wanting to retire... this is the best app in the App Store of its kind. You most definitely achieved what you set out to do. It’s a life saver for me! Thank you for deciding to design this yourself!
