Basically the drive has become useless to me. If I try to copy a file it will only allow you to copy with in the app. Due to the inability to share you also cannot print anything off. Every single time I try to open the app it just crashes immediately. There is no support for it. There have been numerous iOS updates in that time and so this app no longer works on iOS 17 and later. Having paid good money for a device which otherwise still functions perfectly well, I find it unacceptable that I can no longer use it with my phone. Please Verbatim sort it out. Neither of the Mediashare apps work, certainly not on my iPad. It’s a real pity because there must be others out there that are having trouble connecting usb hard drives to iPads. Thank you. ### 5/5 — Easy to use *2016-11-28, version 1.3.528* Downloaded mini version as recommended by other uses, and works fine. Watched videos previously loaded onto sd cards which I had already labelled when copied with no problems. Photos that I needed to edit are easily copied to iCloud sharing, which automatically saves on my iPad, I use one of the many photo editor apps found online. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, but the Verbatim wireless media share does what it needs to and for £24 it's the cheapest I've found on the Internet. I also have the Sandisk wireless media drive which costs almost £70 and the app does pretty much the same thing. Managed to bridge the drive to my internet in seconds, so that I can go online while being connected to the MediaShare, the instructions are simple to follow. If you need to join episodes so they can be watched continuously then again there are tons of other video editing apps and programs which can be used when transferring to sd cards. Managed to connect my iPad Air to the hdmi port on my tv and watch movies streamed from the drive. No complaints! ### 5/5 — Verbatim wireless drive *2016-04-12, version 1.3.528* 5* I have read many reviews on this item that and people are not happy with it. I am not one of them!!! This device and app does exactly what I want and at the price it is an excellent device. I think too many people sometimes expect too much for such a small price. I have offer 2TB of music that I stream from my hard drive and this device allows me to do exactly that wherever I am. To be honest I'm not in to downloading films etc to my device but I like the idea that I can stream my music from my devices to my iPhone or iPad and I can do this exactly as I want. I have no negative to give does what I want. Others will say this is not the case for them but I cannot say that hence my 5* I am more than happy with it at such an excellent price. This is a great way (and only way I could find) to watch downloaded movies stored on my portable external hard drive, on my Apple products. Cartoons we have are 10 minute episodes, and there is no way to cue them for playback so is practically useless for long car drives if you don't have a full movie to playback as its not practical to have to stop the car every 10 mins to select the next file to play. ### 4/5 — Works *2014-12-27, version 1.3.528* Bought this to hook up Sony camera too and transfer pics to iPhone when out and about. Yes, it's a little clunky in places the app but DOES allow you to transfer photos/videos to camera roll etc. Once copied over from camera, or other device, into app folder then you have choice to choose pic and transfer to camera roll. I picked up the wireless unit for under £30 and at that price can't complain. ### 4/5 — Does what it says - almost *2014-10-05, version 1.3.524* I the Verbatim Media Share device the other day after reading other reviews. About 70% gave it thumbs up and the 30% not so happy. I decided to take the risk and bought one. It took a bit of time to set iit up but manage to get it running. It's pretty good and happy with the results from showing photos playing music and movies. I haven't tested on opening pdf or other docs yet. The only downside is it can only play Mp4 format movies. Other formats it will not recognise like mkv or even avi. I am hoping when they have an update they will have this resolved.
