### 4/5 — Very good app

*2024-11-30, version 7.0*

Loads of functions. Auto save would be helpful.

### 3/5 — Add Folders

*2024-01-22*

The app is a great tool to store information. It would nice to be able to put things into different folders. Like being able to have a folder for each Doctor that you visit, or for different injections that you have gotten. That would clean up the app and make it easier to find things. Other than that, good app.

### 2/5 — So simple it’s not even worth a $1

*2023-12-16*

I don’t know how this got such good reviews. For each category, which aren’t that many, there’s one field for a title and one field for a note - that’s it. Plus an option for a picture and pdf. No fields for doctors, dates, locations, surgeries, procedures, tests, emergency contacts, immunizations, med dosage, med frequency, med start/end date, etc.

The app is clean and super simple, but missing A LOT of details. There’s many free apps that do a lot more than this $5 app.

### 5/5 — Very Nice App to Have 2022

*2022-09-11*

I have used this app for a many years. It just keep getting better and better. It’s so nice to have the information right there when your Doctor ask you about any medical questions or updates. My Doctor and his MA love it . I’ve passed this on to family and friends. Thanks to the developer of this app!!! THANK YOU

### 5/5 — This app has proved invaluable to me personally .

*2022-08-26, version 6.3*

I can never remember dates or procedures
Also if I had an accident of some sort the
Dr. would be able to look up my medical history including allergies, blood type etc.
It’s a saving grace to know that if something ever happens to me my family
Knows where to find the information concerning my health.

### 3/5 — Medical id

*2022-07-26*

Generally I like the app but you can’t
edit.

Where do I add DNR!

**Developer response:** Your information can be edited by pressing the "Edit" button in the bottom left when viewing the top level "Medical ID" screen.

The app has several, sections for most common purposes, but anything that doesn’t fit better anywhere else can be added to the “Other Notes” section.

### 5/5 — Reviee

*2022-07-07, version 6.2*

Keep updated and just present to nurse at doctor’s office. So handy

### 5/5 — Review of application

*2022-05-26*

If you’re going to have a Medical ID app it needs to have the prescriptions included in and also your medical and surgical history. If somebody stumbles across you and you are in need of help this is a better way of assisting especially an ambulance driver, paramedic , or fireman personnel. The best medical application I have participated in over many years of using them. Easy to edit for updates.

**Developer response:** The “Medications” section is the best section to enter prescriptions. Medical history information can be entered in the “Medical Notes” sections. I did not want to try and anticipate every possible type of information that might be needed and provide a custom section for each of them. That would make the app unwieldy and confusing. The “Other Notes” section can be used for anything that doesn’t fit better elsewhere.

### 3/5 — Medical history

*2022-04-10, version 6.2*

No place to report my medical history for surgeries.

### 4/5 — Good app

*2022-04-02*

I had to find an app to use after My Medical stopped being offered. I looked at lots of apps but didn’t like how they worked for various reasons.

This app is easy to use and intuitive. However, I would like more sections to store information. I would have liked to have a place to store tests that I’ve had. It would be useful to be able to store prescription information. It would also be nice to have a section to store all your doctors’ information.

I really like how you can move items within a section to choose the order in which they appear.

Thanks for a very nice app.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2022-02-24*

I recently had a need for Ambulance and my son quickly had access to my medical information information.
The EMT thank me for having all medical
Information in this site saved time to treat me
And give information need it at ER
Thank you for creating this life and time saving app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your experience. I am so glad that you are OK and that my app was able to help in your time of need.

### 5/5 — Excellent app.

*2021-11-16, version 6.1*

I take my iPad with the app to all doctors visits. I can have my medicine list handy and can document doctors instructions

### 5/5 — Mrs. Lisa

*2021-11-15, version 6.1*

I enjoy having the information available so quickly when I need it but feel that it is too difficult to edit as needed. Not very user friendly.

### 3/5 — Needs Help

*2021-11-07, version 6.1*

I like this app. However, the data wont sync between my iphone 8 and my ipad pro otherwise I would give it morestars

### 5/5 — Meds

*2021-10-14, version 6.1*

Let’s me keep track if meds I take

### 4/5 — Love the App But…..

*2021-07-29*

The app is perfect for what I need. Helps to keep everything organized and I can open it for quick references when visiting a Dr. The only suggestion I have is, it possible to add a drop down to add different Dr.a and their contact information?
Hope it’s added in an update.

**Developer response:** You can add multiple doctors as Emergency Contacts. If you want to record more information, I suggest creating an item in the Other Notes section for each doctor which has their name and contact details. Each item has an optional note where you can enter any text you like. You could even attach a photo of their business card.

### 5/5 — A VERY useful app.

*2021-03-31*

This is really a great app. Very well thought out and provides peace of mind to my wife when I’m on the road. Only suggestion for improvement is a place to put drivers license and insurance card. I jury-rigged it to work, but a specific place would be nice. But all in all one of the more valuable apps on my phone

Update:

The widget is now useless. You can only do one contact or get a screen that takes half the phone. It worked great before. Why did you screw it up?

**Developer response:** Version 6.0 adds support for iOS 14 widgets, which have very strict sizes and functionality dictated by iOS. The previous widget design is still available and, unless you removed it, it should still appear in your Today view.

New style widgets of the same size from any app can be stacked on top of each other to save space. You could, for example, build a stack of all your emergency contacts using the small widget and swipe up/down to move between them.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2024-10-16, version 7.0*

Not to place information on the lock screen .

### 1/5 — No widget!

*2020-10-23*

Don’t waste your money!
No widget on iPhone and on apple watch
I’m going for a refund.

**Developer response:** The app has a pre-iOS 14 style widget. These are more powerful than the new style and support user interaction, including making a phone call to an emergency contact without unlocking your phone. See https://hacknicity.com/medicalid/userguide#widget for more information.

Watch apps don’t have widgets. Medical ID Record does have a Watch app, with support for complications.

You can contact Apple for a refund if the app is not suitable for your needs.

### 1/5 — Basic info Missing

*2020-03-31*

No field for basic information like address and phone

Was disappointed that there was not a field for doctor information and phone

Not an app I would have paid for!

**Developer response:** I’m an emergency, I’m not sure your address is very important to first responders. This information is not included in the simpler medical id information recorded in the Health app. You can enter the phone number of your doctor (or yourself) in the Emergency Contact section. And you can add any free-form information you like (including more detailed information about your doctor or your own address) in the Other Notes section.

### 1/5 — Scam?

*2019-01-17, version 4.5*

Nearest nothing I’ve seen in an app. Name and vital info only. Nothing to list medications, allergies, or past procedures. Complete waste of money. I deleted.

### 1/5 — Not worth the $2

*2015-12-29, version 1.4*

I got this app thinking it would show up on my lock screen and it does not. I am very disappointed. Please update it to do this!!!

### 1/5 — Not worth the purchase

*2015-12-18, version 1.4*

Just as easily as I can make a note in my notepad, this app will be purchased to do no more than that. It is not accessible via lock screen, provides no truly pertinent medical information, and is no helpful than a note to a medical professional. Don't bother.

### 1/5 — Deceptive

*2015-11-29, version 1.4*

I was charged $2.13 for this app, but it wasn't indicated in the App Store. Not worth it!

### 1/5 — Needs updated

*2015-11-28, version 1.4*

If you are going to make such a great app that integrates with AppleWatch it needs to have complications installed so that it can be viewed from the watch face while the watch is locked. This was such a waste of a $1.99

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2015-09-12, version 1.2*

If, like me, your loving spouse asks you to use the MedicalID app to ensure someone knows whom to contact in the event of an emergency, don't do as I did and download this. There is a native app on your iPhone that houses more info and has greater functionality.

### 2/5 — Lacks Robustness

*2025-01-25, version 7.0*

I was expecting an app a bit robust than this one…doctor data, surgical procedures, etc.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best medical record app

*2026-04-30*

Use this for my family including husband, myself and pets. Wonderful having all our info in one place [meds (including dc’ed meds;area for notes), surgeries, diagnoses (images of studies), lists of Drs, last set of labs]. Going to vet is easy bc I have name of their dog food, drs, dates of surgeries, supplements with photos of bottles w ingredient list. If you care for elderly parents or disabled person would definitely use for above and to keep their POA, guardian paperwork and other important documents in one place. You back it up to the cloud as well. Love this app

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great review. I don’t have pets so never thought about using the app for them. What a wonderful idea!

### 5/5 — Excellent App

### 5/5 — Medical info all in one place

*2024-03-21, version 7.0*

Easy to use and understand. Create medical ID information for emergency responders. Also a great place to store your medical history (procedures, vaccinations, etc) Store photographic images of Covid information, insurance cards, inc.

### 5/5 — This app has proved invaluable to me personally .

*2024-02-16*

I can never remember dates or procedures Also if I had an accident of some sort the Dr. would be able to look up my medical history including allergies, blood type etc. It’s a saving grace to know that if something ever happens to me my family Knows where to find the information concerning my health.

*2023-03-22, version 7.0*

I really appreciate this app, I’ve entered all my health problems, my doctors, prescription & vitamins! My docs really appreciate this & the spelling!

### 5/5 — Must Have App

*2023-01-14*

Review - Medical ID Records iPhone App by Geoff Hackworth. This is a must have app for your iPhone. It is far superior to Apple's own Medical ID. It is FREE to use and share. Among its best features - the ability to add images, e.g. of Rx bottles and to add PDF files - e.g. Your Directive to Physicians. Link to the app is available ON the Lock Screen in case of a REAL emergency. Several widgets come with the app. You have the ability to share ALL of your medical information or any one (or more) data element. Easily update-able. A must have!! Go to Apple App store, search for Medical ID Records.

**Developer response:** Thanks Jon for the great review. Just to be clear, the app is not free. There is a one-time purchase to download the app but it does not have subscriptions.

### 5/5 — Practical App

*2022-11-24*

Very helpful when going to the emergency room or new doctor. Open the app and give to the attending physician. Saves time and allow for accurate entry of data when kept up to date

### 5/5 — THIS APP IS THOROUGH AND EASY TO NAVIGATE

*2022-09-12, version 6.4*

Most medical record apps are too complicated to use, so I give up on them. This app is easy to use and complete. Am SOOO thankful to have found it!!
