## What is Meditrain Nexus?

Meditrain is a digital intervention produced by researchers in the Neuroscape Center at UCSF — A translational cognitive neuroscience center whose goal is to bridge neuroscience and technology.

The goal of MediTrain is to help users improve their self-regulation of internal attention and distractions. It was developed in collaboration with meditation thought-leader Jack Kornfield, and Zynga, a world-class video game company. It was created to make benefits of concentrative meditation more easily accesible to anyone, including complete novices.

At this time MediTrain is only available to participants enrolled in one of our research studies. If you are interested in participating, please contact us via the app support link below.

*2025-03-30*

The app does not record correctly to the calendar. I’ve completed many days of meditation but the calendar indicates days of rest, even though when I first complete the meditation, the calendar displays the yin-yang symbol. By the next day this has changed into a rest day. 
No one from the study has responded to my request for help.

Known Bugs
- Dates shift forward by one day when going to the calendar in the middle of a session, this can be corrected by exiting and re-entering.

Bug fixed: 
- Selecting the “No” or “Yes” buttons multiple times caused the screens to overlap and resulted in the day being logged as “REST”. 
 
Know bugs: 
- If a user changes the date on their cell phone to a day prior to the meditation assignment, the meditate button will appear inactive and meditation will not yet be possible.

- Reminder chime: after 10 seconds a chime sounds to remind the participant to answer the survey.
- Offline sessions: sessions continue even when there is no internet connection or the phone is in airplane mode.

Bugs fixed:
- Session duration: total time and mini-sessions match the set time.
- Show the Ying-Yang symbol correctly in the meditated days.
- Adjustment in the general graph: show correctly the total meditation times of each day.
- Adjustment in the three-day graph: show correctly the times of the meditated sessions in each day.
- Adjustment in the sessions: in each session the bell rings and the question to answer appears.
- Save session information if the app is hard-closed.

Known bugs:
- When doing an offline meditation on the last day of the week, the Ying Yang icon appears to users the first time they see the calendar, but disappears if they consult it a second time.
