## What is Medjat?

Medjat is the scribe of everything you watch.

Search the archive, follow a series, and Medjat keeps your place episode by episode, with a countdown to whatever airs next. Everything you do is saved on your device first, then backed up within seconds, so the app never makes you wait and nothing gets lost.

TRACK WITHOUT FRICTION: Mark an episode seen in one tap, a whole season at once, or every earlier episode you skipped in one move. The Tracker opens on the next episode to play, then sorts your shows into Watching, See later, Not started, Waiting and Finished. Step back a watch if you tapped too fast, log rewatches as often as you like, and undo a stray tap.

NEVER MISS AN AIR DATE: The Upcoming list counts down to every scheduled episode of the shows you follow, with premieres and returning seasons called out. Optional alerts tell you when a new episode is out, and on release day you can mark it watched straight from the alert. Home Screen widgets keep the next episodes and their countdowns a glance away, and air dates can go to your calendar.

RATE AND REMEMBER: Weigh every series on the Judgement scale with a private note, and rate single episodes with the Eye of Horus. The Diary lists every episode you have watched, most recent first. Statistics break down episodes, time watched, streaks and top genres over any period.

COMING FROM TV TIME: Request your data export from TV Time, then hand Medjat the .zip it emails you. Medjat unpacks the archive, matches each series against The Movie Database and restores your watched history, rewatches included. Anything it cannot place on its own comes to a review screen where you link it yourself. Long imports resume where they stopped.

DISCOVER YOUR NEXT SERIES: Browse featured series, filter them by the streaming services you use, or build a sentence for the oracle: pick a mood, a genre and a keyword and let Medjat unroll a list that fits. Every series page shows seasons, episodes, air dates, cast, where to watch it in your country and similar shows.

YOUR OWN RECORD: Every episode you log earns XP and raises your rank, from Novice Scribe to Pharaoh of the Watchlist. Collect amulets for streaks and milestones, enshrine your favorite series, and pick an avatar from the cast of the shows you follow.

NO ACCOUNT, NOTHING TO REMEMBER: There is no sign-up, no password and no email address. Your library is saved to our servers under a key held in your iCloud Keychain, so it comes back on its own on your next device or after a reinstall. A recovery code restores it anywhere else. Export your whole history as CSV or JSON whenever you like, or erase everything for good.

ON IPHONE, IPAD AND IPHONE DUO: On iPad or an unfolded iPhone Duo, Medjat opens like a book: your list on the left page, the show on the right.

FOR EVERY READER: VoiceOver, Voice Control and Dynamic Type support throughout, hardware keyboard shortcuts on iPad, and an interface in English and French, all dressed in Liquid Glass and an ancient Egypt papyrus theme.

Series data and artwork are provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.7 — 2026-10-26

The scribe opened a new hall in the temple, for the people behind your shows.

A TAB FOR PEOPLE: A new People tab sits between Discover and the Tracker. Follow the people who make your shows, on screen or behind the camera, and all their shows gather in one place: grouped by person, or sorted by rating or by date, as a list or a poster grid. Not following anyone yet? The tab suggests the cast of the shows you track, and a Trending this week card adds the names everyone is watching, each with a Follow button.

FIND ANYONE: Search every actor, director and writer on TMDB from the People tab, and follow them straight from the results.

A PAGE FOR EVERY PERSON: Tap a name to open their page: portrait, biography and every show they worked on, with the ones you track marked. Follow them or add them to your favorites from there.

WHO MADE THE SHOW: Show pages now list the creators and directors above the cast. People you follow wear a gold badge, and a tap opens their page.

NEW SHOW ALERTS: When someone you follow lands a new show, Medjat lets you know. Tap the alert to open their page.

FAVORITE PEOPLE: Your favorite people now rank under your favorite shows on your Profile, with the number of their shows you have watched.

YOUR SETTINGS FOLLOW YOU: Your language, region, streaming services, alert times, sorts and layouts now sync between your devices, along with the people you follow.

ON IPAD AND IPHONE DUO: The People tab opens as a two-page spread, your people on the left and their page on the right. Tap a show on either page and it opens on the right page.

FIXES: The Continue Watching card could show another show's poster. It now always matches the show. On the unfolded iPhone Duo, Discover no longer leaves a gap before the fold, a show picked in the release calendar opens on the right page, and the top of two-page screens is no longer cut off. The Profile's statistic and amulet tiles no longer turn black.

### 1.2.6 — 2026-10-23

The scribe nailed a new calendar to the temple wall, and found room for the iPhone Duo.

RELEASE CALENDAR: Open the "..." menu in Discover and pick Release calendar. It lists what airs season by season, day by day: series premieres, season premieres, finales and shows that drop all their episodes at once. Tap the bell on a row to track the show and turn on its alerts in one go.

MADE FOR IPHONE DUO: Unfold your iPhone Duo and Medjat now fills the whole inner screen, with its tab bar running down the side.

### 1.2.5 — 2026-10-15

The scribe swept the temple floor: nothing new on the walls, but everything runs faster and your history is safer.

FASTER EVERYWHERE: Medjat opens on your Tracker without waiting for the network, and To Watch fills in show by show instead of all at once. Your Profile keeps its place when you switch tabs and works out its statistics in the background. Upcoming, show pages and posters load faster and use less memory, even with hundreds of shows in your library.

EASIER ON YOUR BATTERY: The glow behind every screen moves at a calmer pace and stops when the screen is hidden or the app is in the background.

YOUR HISTORY, SAFER: A change Medjat cannot save no longer vanishes without a word. One change the server refuses no longer holds back all the others. When you edit the same show on two devices, the latest edit wins. On a new iPhone, Medjat waits for your iCloud Keychain before setting itself up, so your history stays tied to your account.

HIGH CONTRAST: Turn on Increase Contrast in your iPhone's Accessibility settings and Medjat's text and borders follow.

FIXES: In Hawaii and Alaska, episode alerts no longer arrive the day before the episode. Reinstalling Medjat no longer creates a second Medjat calendar when you export your episodes. Restoring or erasing your data while a sync is running can no longer bring old data back.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-14

The scribe unrolled a fresh papyrus: more to discover, more to rate, fewer slips of the reed.

DISCOVER YOUR WAY: Featured Series now keeps loading as you scroll, 20 shows at a time. A row of chips on top filters it by streaming service: the services you picked in Settings, or every service in your region if you have not picked any. "All" always shows everything. Switch between a list and a poster grid, and Medjat remembers your choice.

MORE ON EVERY SHOW PAGE: The cast now sits under the synopsis, and a "More like this" row at the bottom opens a similar show in one tap. When a page cannot load, it says why and offers to try again.

RATE EPISODES: Long-press an episode to rate it with the Eye of Horus, mark it watched or remove one watch. Your score shows right on the row.

UNDO A STRAY TAP: Logged a rewatch or marked a whole season by mistake? An Undo button shows up for a few seconds.

ALERTS THAT LEAD SOMEWHERE: Tap an episode alert to open that show. On release day, long-press the alert and pick "Mark as watched" without even opening the app.

NEW ICONS: Several signs across the app were redrawn or replaced with ones that really mean what they show: a scroll for your Diary, an hourglass for the shows you are waiting on, a half moon for the ones you are watching, a house for My Shows. The Lotus seal now wears the lotus of the Akhet challenge, and Night Owl got its owl.

A TIDIER PROFILE: Your Diary shows your ten latest entries as a row of posters, and "View all" opens the full Diary. Tap any entry to open that show. Amulets get a roomier row of their own, and event amulets are always listed with their dates and status. The Statistics header now sits right above your stat tiles.

BACKUP IN SETTINGS: Your recovery code and the restore option now live in Settings, under Backup & Recovery.

NOTHING GETS LOST: Every change is saved on your iPhone first, then sent within seconds instead of waiting for the next sync, including when you leave the app or mark an episode watched from an alert. After a network drop, Medjat retries on its own as soon as it can.

SMOOTHER BROWSING: Coming back from a show page no longer reloads the whole list, and you keep your place. Long seasons and search results load as you scroll.

FOR EVERY READER: Medjat adapts to the largest text sizes, widgets follow your text size and read clearly with VoiceOver, and Voice Control finds every button by the name it shows. On iPad, Cmd+F opens search and Esc closes dialogs. Text and controls that were too faint now meet contrast guidelines.

WRAPPED IS COMING: A new Wrapped section sits at the bottom of your Profile. Your 2026 in series arrives soon.

FIXES: Untracking several shows now asks first. A new episode becomes markable at the moment the widgets say it is out. A show deleted and tracked again while offline keeps the episodes you marked. Restoring from a recovery code no longer leaves the previous account's ratings behind, sync can no longer skip a change made on another device, and "Last synced" starts over after a restore or Erase All Data. A mistyped recovery code is now refused before anything is erased. Importing from TV Time no longer unfollows shows you track in Medjat, and the imported history always reaches your backup. In the Americas, an episode no longer shows up as out the day before its release. Small buttons are easier to tap, onboarding holds up at the largest text sizes, and VoiceOver reads unaired episodes correctly.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-10-10

The papyrus unfolds.

MADE FOR THE IPHONE DUO: Open your iPhone Duo and Medjat opens like a book. Your list sits on the left page and the show you picked fills the right one, in Tracker, Discover, Profile and Settings. Fold it shut and you land on the same show, unfold it again and the spread picks up where you were.

NOW ON IPAD: Medjat now runs on iPad in its own full-size window. On a large screen it opens as the same two-page spread, your list on the left and the show on the right, and it follows the size of the window you give it.

THE AKHET CHALLENGE: The flood season runs from October 19 to November 19. Log 30 episodes before the waters recede to earn the Lotus seal, a new amulet for your Profile. Your progress is one tap away on the event page.

LIST OR GRID: My Shows and the Tracker sections now switch between the list you know and a grid of posters, so you can pick a show by its cover.

SORT MY SHOWS YOUR WAY: Sort My Shows A-Z, by last watched or by next release. Medjat remembers your choice.

CATCH UP IN ONE TAP: Tick an episode further down a season and Medjat offers to mark the earlier ones too. Tap "Don't ask again" if you never want the question, and turn it back on in Settings.

YOUR SERVICES FIRST: Pick the streaming services you pay for in Settings, under My services. Where to watch now lists them first and outlines them in gold, so you see straight away whether a show is already in your subscriptions.

FIXES: The Calendar and Content pages in Settings now open with the same short introduction as the other pages. Medjat now passes the crash and slowdown reports your iPhone already collects on to us, so we can fix what breaks on real devices.
