### 1/5 — Bruce

*2015-05-23*

I was told by Medtronic that this app will not work with carelink

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2014-06-21*

That this app doesnt work for carelink users is simply beyond any possible explanation for how its been released. The carelink website interface is outdated, and apparently their lack of IT experience is a systemic issue that travels through marketing, and executive levels. incompetence.

### 1/5 — Pump user

*2014-03-07*

When are you going
To fix the site? It will not let me log on.

### 1/5 — Nonfunctional App

*2014-02-24*

Login doesn't work. Who knows what the app is supposed to do. Medtronic should pull thus app. Leaving it here makes their IT look unprofessional.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2014-02-19*

It's work on web bowser but not on these BS app! I can't even log in.

### 1/5 — Too bad

*2013-05-17, version 2.1.0.5*

How about letting the people that actually pay for these expensive devices have access to the data as well! Nice for the clinicians but how about the parents? Would be nice to have my daughters diabetes info when we go into doctors offices and ER that are unfamiliar with her.

### 1/5 — F-U Medtronic

*2013-03-01, version 2.1.0.5*

Doesn't work at all for PATIENTS.

Knowing Medtronic, they'll invent another "device" that allows you to do this - and charge you $3000 for it.

The LEAST you could possibly do is to simply allow mobile devices to access the Carelink website without EXPLICITLY blocking them for *no reason*.

### 1/5 — Too bad

*2012-12-08, version 2.1.0.5*

Too bad it can't be used by the people who actually use the software everyday... Doesn't make much since that this is only for clinicians and not consumers

### 2/5 — For clinician use only?

*2012-09-27, version 2.1.0.5*

I don't understand why this is only for use by clinicians and not patients. It would be great if BOTH were able to use the app. It seems silly to me that they would not develop an app for patient use... Sad day. No wonder my login didn't work.

### 1/5 — Wish patients could use this app

*2012-08-19, version 2.1.0.5*

The website is nice when you available to a computer but if you could access and input data while on the go - that would be great! Things I would like to see in a patient edition would be:
- enter carbs
- enter bgs
- enter exercising
- enter illnesses
- enter sensor startup
- enter infusion changes

I can't really review the app as its for doctors but I would go a long way for patients.

### 1/5 — Won't let me log in either

*2012-08-10*

I created an account at the Carelink site in addition to my Medtronic login as required. I can login to Carelink via web browser with no problems. The app on the other hand just says there is a "Login failure / incorrect user or password". I even rebooted my iPhone to see if that helped since some apps recommend a reboot after install - still no luck. I hope this gets fixed. It *would* be fantastic to access on a mobile phone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2023-07-28*

Very user unfriendly. Outdated technology.

### 1/5 — PLEASE READ clinician app not for PATIENTS

*2021-08-14*

For everyone trying to use this app; this is for CLINICIANS. Not patients. Patients only have access to the MCL heart app with the pacemaker/ICD’s.

One of my EP’s explained his log in for carelink was for ALL of his current Medtronic patients; and there is no way to log in without being able to pull up multiple patient profiles currently; which is why he couldn’t give me the login for mine; (it was the hospitals carelink provider login and would give me acess to all his patients information).

Medtronic is behind the time here; I’ve been begging them for access to my loop information; pacemaker transmission data through a carelink portal for PATIENTS but it’s falling on deaf ears for years.

Anyway don’t waste your time with this app it’s for providers. If your looking for any access to your pacemaker it’s the MCL heart app

### 1/5 — No help help desk

*2020-11-17, version 2.3.0.0*

I had to reinstall the app on my husband’s phone. Finally managed to figure out how to get to the CareLink site - mycarelink.com. Thought I updated the password through the website site. Neither password is working to get the app logged back in so I can send a transmission. Someone needs to know how to troubleshoot this stuff. Now I need to call AGAIN to try getting the app linked to his account. What’s the likelyhood that I will be able to get help?

### 1/5 — Couldn’t be worse

*2020-06-22*

This app is so absolutely frustrating. Every update makes it impossible to access. I forgot my password, so I was directed to the webpage to change it. Finally managed to get to the obscure website and change the password. App won’t recognize it. Hours...literally hours on the phone getting shifted from one phone to another to wait on hold for periods ranging 20-30 minutes. I hope the same people who designed the app aren’t the same ones who designed my pacemaker....or I’m in trouble.

### 1/5 — pmakeruser

*2018-02-07*

I have been trying to log in throughut the day. The system is crapped. Have repeatedly registered and changed passwords and I get the same idiotic message- either my Pw or Id is wrong. Also spent some 30 mins to get to an agent via phone who was of absolutely no help- simply ignorant blaming Apple. I am sick literally and need a pacemaker readout and 12 hours later cant obtain it due to Metronic idiocy and incompetence.

### 1/5 — It's quick, but need more information

*2017-11-22*

I use this application for a clinic of about 100 patients on a daily basis. It is much faster than the actual Carelink website.

If this app had active transmission lists and other transmission lists it would be great. I hope someone reads this review as those changes would help many other clinics around the country.

***update***

Still no active transmissions lists. Thanks ...

### 1/5 — No CARELINK Connection

*2016-06-15*

This app doesn't allow for connectivity to Medtronic's Carelink system. I spent 20 minutes on hold with tech support waiting to speak with someone then when I was connected the operator put me on hold to research the problem, came back and advised me to change my phone's browser. Only after doing research here did I discover that this app is only intended for medical professionals. My home computer's OS isn't up to date enough to run CareLink so I was hoping to take the Medtronic MyLearning educational modules via my phone. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be an option. It doesn't lift my confidence levels very high if MiniMed can't label their app information very clearly.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2016-06-06*

Can not log in nothing works tried changing the password and uninstalled and reinstalled whatever I do I cannot get this app to work I can log into the website but not app 👎

### 1/5 — BS as normal for medtronics consumer facing IT

*2015-11-28*

The app does state it's only for clinicians (if you click on to read the details) but right there is Medtronic's ineptitude laid bare. They truly are idiots who it comes to consumer IT. They belatedly follow the competition to allow Cloud sharing of SG readings... But don't let the custom app for that work for care-givers ... And the care link app (this) only works for the doctors ... So parents still have to navigate their outdated website and still can't properly track their kids safety with their phone!
Medtronic should have fired their tech and IT directors years ago. This only confirms their lack of professional understanding of the field they serve. Makes the vast sums of money they get from pump users seem even more unjustified.

### 1/5 — Could not login

*2015-07-13*

Customer support could not help me. Doesn't work to change password online. Cannot log in

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Medtronic

*2023-12-15*

I love my and feel safe because Medtronic’s keeps my pacemaker monitored 24/7.

### 5/5 — The app is great

*2022-01-21*

So many complaints from people clearly don’t understand what the app is for. This app clearly states it’s for clinicians, not patients and their caregivers. I don’t download an app for ordering food and then complain no one came to pick me up to give me a ride. Before you waste hours trying to figure out why the app isn’t working, you should probably read to see what the app is used for.

For those looking to use this app for its intended purpose (clinicians), it’s great and serves its purpose.

### 5/5 — Tell how much

*2018-02-27*

Tell how much you really hate this app.

### 5/5 — App is working but not for us and only for Clinicians

*2015-05-07*

The Medtronic CareLink™ Mobile Application allows clinicians who are authorized to use the CareLink® Network to follow patients implanted with Medtronic cardiac devices to access the CareLink® Network on their mobile device.

### 5/5 — Excellent App to drive efficiency

*2012-06-07, version 2.1.0.5*

Access to data is key... This is a game changer. Never had any login issues. Great way to facilitate real time data for the assessment of the patient in the hospital setting.

### 4/5 — One thing needed

*2020-05-03*

Love the app BUT please add the ability to edit prior notes!

### 4/5 — care link app for crdm

*2014-03-14*

FYI- this app only works for medical professionals with log-in credentials.

### 4/5 — Great for nights and weekends

*2013-01-05*

I wish people would read the notes from the app programmers before writing a one-star review saying that the app won't do something that it never promised to do.

This app is for remote monitoring of Medtronic pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders. It is for clinicians only because the reports would mean nothing to a layperson. But for me, it is very helpful if patients calls in complaining of palpitations, etc. I can have them upload the info in the pacemaker and tell them from the comfort of my couch whether there is any abnormal rhythm.

Medtronic stores their info in PDFs, and this app downloads those PDFs for review, much like the website. Makes it slow and clunky, even on WiFi. But the fact that I can get this info on a phone is still amazing. Now make your pacemakers wireless, Mdt!

### 3/5 — Good app, has some downfalls

*2015-08-07*

App is nice and quick, but availability of active transmission lists and others lists would handy

### 3/5 — It's not for patients!

*2012-09-05, version 2.1.0.5*

I was looking forward to seeing what this would offer but, as with others here, it wouldn't accept my login info. Touching the "i" (info) button near the bottom of the screen makes clear that the app is for clinicians...
