## What is Meet Food?

Meet Food is where neighbors discover each other through homemade food.

Browse dishes people around you actually cooked — every one has a story, a face, and a kitchen behind it. Swipe right when something makes you hungry, match into a small table, and share a real meal together.

HOW IT WORKS
• Swipe — a deck of homemade dishes cooked by neighbors near you
• Match — when you both say yes, a small table forms
• Meet — agree on a time and a nearby pickup spot, then eat together

WHY MEET FOOD
• Real people, real kitchens — cooks can verify their identity with LinkedIn, and verified neighbors match first
• Stories before ingredients — every dish tells you who made it and why
• Not takeout — no ordering, no delivery; this is about meeting the people behind the food
• Safety built in — allergen info on dish cards, plus report and block tools on every profile, post, and message

Meet Food is for adults 18+. Look around first without an account — create one when you're ready to join a table.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5 — 2026-09-01

A new welcome screen, a much safer swipe card, and a long list of fixes to
things that used to fail quietly.

NEW
• A redesigned welcome screen — a living wall of real dishes from the
neighbourhood, and one tap to join with Apple, LinkedIn or email.
• Search your conversations by name or by something that was said in them.
• The message box now grows as you type, and Return sends.

SAFER
• Every allergen declaration is now on the card itself, including the
cross-contact warning and "the cook isn't sure" — you see it before you
swipe, not after you've agreed to meet.
• Reporting tells you the truth about what happened to your report.

FIXED — things that used to fail silently
• Unread badges survive closing the app. A message that arrived overnight is
  still waiting for you.
• A message that failed to send is no longer lost on relaunch — it comes back,
marked unsent, with a tap to retry.
• "Say hi" after a match always opens the conversation.
• Swipes, photos, follows and dish edits now tell you when they didn't go
through, instead of looking like they worked.
• Loading older messages keeps your place instead of throwing you to the
  bottom.
• Long messages are no longer trimmed without warning.
• Editing your profile or a dish asks before discarding your draft.

ACCESSIBILITY
• VoiceOver can now reach every page of a dish card, including the allergen
  page.
• The pass and want-to-eat buttons are properly labelled, and small controls
have been enlarged to a comfortable tap size.

### 1.4 — 2026-08-28

Getting started is much shorter now — four screens instead of nine, and your address is only asked for when it actually matters.

• Post a dish on one page, with your allergens right where you need them
• Move and zoom your photo freely — what you see in the editor is exactly what neighbors see on your card
• Mention neighbors with @ in comments and tap through to their profile
• A new Likes & comments feed in Messages shows who reacted to your posts, and you can edit or delete your own posts and comments
• Drafts are kept if you leave a post half-written

Fixed: nearby dishes could be hidden behind an estimated distance instead of the real one, which sometimes left the Swap deck looking empty even when neighbors were cooking a few blocks away. Also fixed a crash when adding a dish photo, and text now scales properly with larger accessibility text sizes.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-19

Improved referral invites and daily discovery picks. Profile names and photos now stay consistent after restarting or signing back in. Drafts and actions are saved before syncing, with safer retry and recovery on unstable networks. We also improved account switching, media uploads, messages, tables, and account deletion reliability.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-11
